OKAY!! Now that I have embarrassed myself, I wanted to share with you from Joyce Tyre, the book itself is called Let Me Touch You. Most of the poems are untitled.

I do not wish to control you
To remake or try to mold you
I just want to love you.

I could live my life without you
And never come about you
But I choose to love you

I will not depend on you
And I'll take nothing from you
I will simply love you.
****************************

Let me touch you
Where smiles are made
and where tears are formed

Let me touch you
Where hope springs forth
and where dreams die.

Let me touch you
Where desire builds
and where despair tears down.

Let me touch you
Where tomorrow is coming
and where yesterday still holds on.

Let me touch you.

*****************************

I will not wish
you wealth nor fame
For they, though sweet,
Could leave you lame.
I'll wish for you
Some precious thing
Like hope or joy
Or bells that ring.
I'll wish you good health
And peace of mind
A helping hand
A word that's kind.
I'll wish you love
To keep you young
And songs to sing
You've never sung.

Thanks for enduring with me. That last poem is particularly touching to me. When we were young, my dad and stepmom dedicated Wish You Peace, by the Eagles, to us children, and that particular poem invokes memories...does anyone else see a similarity ??

Blessings for a beYOOtiful day,
Gali
