Just wanted to drop a note to you all...
Hach, sounds like Sir Robert can help you out
where I couldn't....I live in North Carolina...well away from the mountains of the Cherokee...so I don't get up there enough to have much of a collection

!! Lucky Sir Robert....I have an intense interest in the Anasazi...you are truly living in a blessed place !! What I do have are a few oral traditions and a continuing interest which when I was very young was fed by my real mother. Okay...this is not as inspiring as Hach, for me, but here goes :
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
far away
the man on the hill
hears the drumbeat
feathers flutter
as he lifts his
pipe
then he lifts his
body
the paint glints
in the sunshine
against
his beautiful brown skin
then
he lifts his
voice;
a cry;
his voice
fills the air-
triumph;
he is there again.
