Many thanks for your thoughts about my mother. While it was not a total surprise, it was and is still a bit of a shock.

I will have to be honest with you and say that we did not have a very good relationship, mostly because she was a very confused soul in her last incarnation, and had a lot of problems which she never really faced up to, and as a result of that, she tried to control our lives, and there was a time that I simply had to get away from her in order to lead my life in a somewhat normal manner.

She was a very smart woman, and that was part of the reason why I chose to incarnate through her this time around. She was 75 and had been in a nursing home with Alzheimer's for about 2 years, and was totally out of it.

The funeral is scheduled for Friday at 11:00 AM, and it is basically a blessing that she finally can go home and review what she learned in this life and will in her next incarnation lead a much more happier and beautiful life.

Although I'm new to this forum, I sympathize with what you're going through. My heart goes out to you and can only say that I know your mother is truly at peace. She will always be with you as she always was. Mothers are a blessing whether we're close to them or not. They give love the best way they know how. I'm sure you were blessed with a real special one. And you can be thankful for the special bond that you shared and because of that bond you will never be apart.

Lots of light and love to you. It's a difficult time I know.

When my father died a year ago January, It was fairly tough. I had a very bad relationship with him. He had been ill for a very long time too. Still, when it was over I had to fold all of those expierences up and put them away in my heart. But, I find that as time has passed I get to pick the memories that I like, the ones that I enjoy, and remember them. When he was alive he kept alive all of the bad stuff, but now that he is gone I get to decide how I remember him -- how I remember myself. It makes it easier to handle all the more difficult stuff.

Thanks Dave for your feedback. It helps a lot because I understand better what I'm going through. But enough about me. I feel sort of selfish for burdening you with my small delimma knowing what you're going through. I'm sorry you and your Mom didn't have the best relationship but I'm sure in her own way she tried. And if you feel any guilt you shouldn't because I'm sure that whatever it is you went through with her has made you a better person, obviously a more open and understanding person of other peoples' needs. And that we both should be grateful because I too have that similar relationship with my Virgo mother. The love is still there and always will be even if it wasn't near perfect. I'm sure you tried and I'm sure in her way she tried but in order for you to live a more complete life you had to do what was neccesary. Through the toughest relationships we learn the most and become stronger for it. You're truly blessed and once again Thank You!

Hi Dave,

I read your reply to all the heartfelt messages and thought how wise your thoughts are. I'm sure your mother did her best while in this life. She was ready to leave and take time to reflect and be at peace before planning her return.

It's us who are still here that have the issues to deal with and lessons to learn in this life. As you reflect on your relationship with your mother, I hope you find all the support you need from others (which I can see just reading!) and yourself to deal with all the emotions and thoughts you may be experiencing at this time.

You have my support as well. I lost my dad two years ago but never once questioned that he had been ready to complete this life and move on. Now that I am expecting my first child, I feel the responsibility of being chosen to help another spirit as they re-enter this plane.

When I hear about a death or a birth it makes me reflect about my own lessons that I have to learn in this life.

Many thanks to all of you. One of the things I have done is to send this on to my brother and sisters so that they can read your thoughts as well.

Everything despite the Mercury retrograde has gone very well - all of the plans that have been made have so far some to happen. I must say that the fact that it was a holiday in the US helped things, as it gave everyone some time to reflect and then start to do things.

I was a bit surprised and very happy that all of my "younger" siblings have made the decision to come for the funeral, which will please one, Mom, and also the other people she knew who will be there as well.

Crystal emailed me a note of condolence, and she was very right in saying that this has been a very "difficult" year for me - with the passing of my father last April, the triple bypass that I had in September (and I am back to being totally normal!), and the passing of my mother as well. And, in the same time period, I have been blessed with a "job" that I love - being with all of you.

My heart is with you and your family Dave. My granda was a difficult person we always thought, kind but so strict and unmoveable and into his own space all the time. It was only when he too had Altzheimer's that we saw him regress back and back in time, gradually, to the person who fell in love with my gran and he became all loving and romantic towards her again. Although a terrible illness to watch with many downsides, it was nice to see him as she had seen him and he became a warm loving, gentle person, and is remembered now, that way.

How well I remember the hum of silence that descends after everyone has gone home...and I took my heels off..or in your case your crooked tie ( ).
Be gentle with yourself this weekend...it seems you always plan on taking time for yourself but then you wind up back here anyway...
