Dear Knowflakes,

As has been my policy, I am announcing another fairly major event that will be happening, and this one is that Venus will be going retrograde on March 8th at 5:06 PM PST at 17 Aries 44, and will last until April 19th at 9:34 PM PDT at 1 Aries 27. It will catch up to its retrograde position on May 24th.

Venus does not go retrograde that often - 5 times every 8 years, and they are almost always in the same place in the zodiac every 8 years, due to the fact that its orbit is nearly circular. The next one for example will happen in October/November 2002.

What does a Venus retrograde mean? I have mentioned many times that this and the retrograde of Mars (which will happen on May 11th) are the ones I pay attention to in a natal chart simply because I have found that the people born under these retrogrades are most likely to had some abuse of the Love Principle in a prior incarnation.

So, for those people who are born under such a retrograde, the retrograde will be very familiar to them, as it is how they feel the energy natally. For the people who have Venus direct in their chart, it is simply a time to sit back and reflect on the nature of their Love, paying attention to the house placement and the natal planets that Venus will aspect while it is retrograde.

Hi Dave,

Venus goes Rx on my birthday when it is almost trine to my Asc! It is in my 4th house and will retrograde over my IC cusp. So what do you think? Will it effect me more than usual?

Is transiting Venus opp natal Venus an emotional transit? Venus is in the 10th & the house effected is the 4th. This will happen right before it goes retrograde (not to me, in case you were confused?)

If you have your chart with you, then look at the planet symbol, then look at the degree that planet is at within its particular sign. If it is retrograde, it should have a little 'R' next to it.

No, you do not have either Venus or Mars retrograde at birth. I might add for the other Knowflakes that when I do see either one of them retrograde (as AriesC knows well!), I have a tendency to note that it is retrograde when I comment on their charts.

Dear Dave,
If someone (not me) has Venus in retrograde, you said they have had some abuse in a prior life? Would it be either abused or abuser? Just curious.
So when the planet also goes retro, the person begins to feel the pull and these issues will tend to surface somehow? Can you give a little example?

It is more likely that the person was the abuser rather than the abusee, particularly since three of the retrograde cycles are in Aries, Leo and Scorpio. One is in Gemini and the other is Capricorn Aquarius, and those may be less "abusive", but when I think about the esoteric meaning of those planets, I am not sure.

This whole concept came from my studies in esoteric astrology, where Venus is the polar opposite of the Earth, and for it to be retrograde in the chart means that there are a lot of lessons to be learned.

I might add that a lot of people have this happen to them between conception and birth, which would indicate to me that there is some Love karma on the soul level to be worked out and that depending on where in the pregnancy it happens indicates how close in time it has been - if it is early one, then it is not much, but if it is late in the pregnancy, then it is something that has to be worked out on both the soul/personality level.

As for an example, if you have read what AriesC has been through throughout the year and what has been discussed there, then I think you'll understand some of the things that are involved - she wants to get it behind her in this lifetime, and she will!

My antennae are all the way up! Thank you for answering me. I have a few more questions along this line:

1) you say "particularly since three of the retrograde cycles are..." This wording confused me a little. I am thinking of a person's chart where Venus is over 29* in Aries which is also the person's sun sign. Do you mean only the cycles you mentioned are where Venus CAN be retrograde? I am very confused here.

2) What is "Capricorn Aquarius?" Right between them?

3) What is the Love Principle?

I am very aware of AriesC's experience and identify with her about the intensity of deep lessons being learned, even though my Venus is not retro. Do you think it could have been retro prenatally for me?

I just wanted you to know I did a search on Venus in retro and read many more interesting threads. I tried searching for the Love Principle exact but did not come up with it.
In one thread with another individual you looked at her chart and were able to give her so much insight re her venus retro and other planets. Could you possibly look at my chart and one other person's for the same reason? I know I am asking for a lot of your time, but I think it is urgent or I wouldn't ask.
Friend: DOB March 31, 1953, 11:36 AM, Quincy, Mass.
Me: DOB March 4, 1957, 6:30 PM, Waltham, Mass.
Whatever help you can give I would be extremely grateful for. I am sure this friend is IT as far as a soul mate for me, and you may be able to shed some light on the meaning of this connection and what it is we are supposed to learn. I have already done much reflection and searching and so far still mostly have questions!

I will get back to you on some of this later on. There are 5 Venus retrograde cycles every 8 years, and they occur in the same part of the zodiac every 8 years. The Capricorn Aquarius one is late Cappy early Aquarius...

This is esoterically a Second Ray solar system in which the souls in it are all learning about Love - unconditional!

About all the Venus retrograde will be doing is be in your 11th house of friends - so this one is not a big deal.

One comment - there is almost always something going on in the sky - the key is to recognize what is happening with your chart - sometimes its a big deal, and at other times it is not.

this relatonship has some signs of a soul mate relationship, but not all of them. There is a Venus trine Pluto and 5 Saturn aspects, most notably a Sun trine Saturn which is postive. But there is also a Moon opposition Saturn (his Saturn) which may mean he will want to control your emotions. Easing that a bit is a Moon sextile and trine Pluto. Your Moons are also opposite each other.

OK, it does not fit the soul mate pattern per se, but there are indications of prior lives together and they haven't been "bad". Perhaps the two of you are working on it!

Well presently I have Pluto and Mars squaring my Ascendant. I have had saturn in my 2nd house for the past 2 yrs (sun sign)Now venus is retrograding in my 1st house (ascendant) and the march 9th full moon is near my Descendant, in addition my neptune is opposite uranus....should i be scared?? Sure Aries is my 7th house.....it's that left over Aries in the 6th ...and extra 11 deg of Taurus in the 7th that stops me dead in my tracks wondering what in the world I am doing!

And back to the original question....in other words...I can tell what house will be affected by simply lOOking at my natal chart to find the placement of the planet and whatever house it is in?

Or am I off the beam completely now?

long time no been around, been moving into a new place and just got everything set up again. to be on my own in my new place but dont know for how long, i've just had a proposal from a cappy who i've known for a good few years and she has now decided that we should be together. mmmmmmm dont know bout that though.......

Lastly (wouldn't it be funny if it's today with home). I sold my house Monday, booked a lorry to move me next Monday to a cottage to rent meantime. Buyers pulled out !! Now done risk analysis on moving and this selling quickly anyway - question (if you can answer) Am I not meant to sell, not need to give up to back business and have enough funding to "do it" or does something show moving, home life changing something anyway???????

My presentation went absolutely super dooper - HOWEVER, I don't count on anything with that bug U hanging around me, so not taking anything for granted.

But yes, as it happened - the market I perceived there to be a gap in is really taking up interest here - seems right time, right place and no-one has the particular qualification I have to do this for self gain in this country, nor my background nor can they be me and no-one has considered the positive impact and want for it till I did research (from knowing, just knowing - Scorpio rising helping out there) - that's said without arrogance by the way - just facts !!!!

Won't say exactly what doing (but Venus should be happy with me!!) till I've bagged it - then will reveal !!! Coz just had another idea pinched from a so called friend I was going to for business advice who is already promoting my ideas as he is already set up with company to deliver them huh!

There is lots of work out there I perceive for people once I and this organisation make impact, and already I have hand picked one person to get themselves the knowledge and prepared correctly the way I would require them to have to assist me (deal with my clients). Once I've got my chosen areas and organisations then I actually intend to train others to be able to do the same thing and set up on their own too coz enough for more I predict

Venus better tell Uranus just to lay off just this once very soon and give me the chance to PROVE something. Coz Venus I KNOW now so please let me do this wonderful thing for so many people ! And improve the lives of my children and family and myself too in the process

The presentation got the people to bite, now they need to go chew to see if "fits" with rest of team (it does - hope they can see that). Wouldn't start till summer anyway when they move to new premises so anything can happen (yikes). But that should fit in with "other people's money" you said would happen bit later on yet !!!

Funny it's about close friends - I had no idea how much respect and what connections I had till last few days. Or maybe I just was to insecure to pull them in and approach cause of behaviour recently with Uranus being naughty.

Hmmmm so that's good. His being in work is interesting. Too me his whole self-esteem comes from his business and yet it ties him (love of that success and money) from getting what he wants and because no other area been good and healthy for so long. Would this possibly be the time he realises what really counts in life, whilst not losing anything from business except the fear of losing it? Or something like that. It's what I feel is next or first breakthrough stage for him .... finding what really counts after all as in the foundation, then can enjoy these other things even more if lucky enough to have them?

AriesC PS: so not moving to cottage then - stick out and trust not meant methinks - if this house sells next week and I'm stuck or sell and business goes "whooosh so didn't need extra to fund it" - I just may join Uranus up there !!!!
