Hi Dave!
This is my first post outside a classroom forum...but I can't stand it...I have a question! (I know so little about astrology, but I am TRYING to learn!) I am aware of "orbs" in relation to planetary aspects, but is there an "orb" effect to take into consideration when one is considering the HOUSE a planet is in in one's chart? What if there is a planet within a degree or two...or even less between one house and another? Is there an effect from BOTH houses, or is it one or the other? Clear as mud?
Thanks in advance!

T

T,

As Linda said about a planet being in a sign, it is in that sign. The same goes for the house position.

Thanks

Thank you Dave. But how disappointing! It would be so EASY to "blame" or assign things to another houses' influence! But things aren't supposed to work that way, right?

OK, here's another one. What exactly are transits? I know that it is the influence of planets as they move day to day...but what are they compared to? Is it always the natal chart placements--where things were at birth? I know the transits vary in length of time depending on a fast (inner) or slow moving (outer) planet.

I know these are basic questions and I HAVE tried reading past posts on the boards, but there are so MANY and there is so little time!!! Please note the gratitude from the kindergarden class!!

Thanks again,
T

T,

You got it about transits - the ones that if you see from the posts that are most worked with are from Jupiter on out.

Thanks

Dave

Tink!

Glad you recognized who this is. I had one heck of a time coming up with a "good" screen name. I'm SO not good with that sort of thing. I found a phrase in one of Linda's books that just hit the right chord with me and I thought, why not?

It's such a positive statment that I've tried to remember to tell myself this every day "The pursuit of happiness is not a sin!"
