As has been my policy for some while, I am posting the latest event that is about to happen in the astronomical sky - Saturn is going to go direct (and for a lot of you it will be a relief, although there will be some "dread" coming!

Saturn has its direct station at 24 Taurus 04 on January 24th at 4:24 AM PST. On April 20th, at 2:59 PM PDT, Saturn goes into Gemini for good (i.e., it will not retrograde back into Taurus) and will continue to go direct until September 26th at 5:04 PM PDT at 14 Gemini 56.

OK. Some of you have really "dreaded" the entrance into your Sun sign. Saturn is the great teacher, the lord of karma, and for it to enter your Sun sign is not a big deal unless you have a real fear of structure and limits. Those are necessary things that have a real place in our lives, as it lies between Jupiter which is for us growing and Uranus for the unexpected in our lives...

Now, there will be a Saturn opposition Pluto on August 5th which will bring some major structural transformations about that time. The degrees are 12 Gemini 35 and Sagittarius. More on this later in the year.

Dave - How about a person who has Saturn in their natal chart at 0 degrees of Gemini and it's trine Pluto on one side and the North Node on the other, and oppisite Neptune? There's so much going on there that I can't quite see who the stronger players are - but I think that to have Saturn and Pluto involved is pretty powerful...Dave if you want to look it's Matt's and his info is Jan 10,1972 @ 4:45 am in Adelaide, Australia. He already had the first pass of this in the fall and it was a very good time for him - mostly centered around rewards from his work and travel...can he expect more of the same? And one last thing - why do you think it was so positive for him? I see so many people here having awful times with tranists like this, and here he is, ignorantly sailing through this potentially very awkward time? Well I'm glad anyway, but it is a curiosity!

Saturn is natally retrograde in about 40% of the peoples charts, so per se I do not take that much notice on it, although one would suspect that it means there is some karma to work out with it retrograde.

be afraid, be VERY afraid! hahahaha. I can honestly say that I've never actually had a head on problem with Saturn in any respect. I guess ignorance is bliss, I deal with what life chucks at me as and when required haha. I guess I'm the eternal optomist, my cup is usually half full - I just get kinda concenred with what it is full off! hehehehe

I am going to have a pretty heavy year with Saturn transiting my ninth house in 2001 - I just found 7 major transiting aspects! The one that worries me most is opp Neptune in third house at 26.31. Any words of wisdom on that one? I must admit to feeling a certain amount of confusion about my life direction at present.

Actually since Saturn's station point is at 24 Taurus, and I use 2 degree orbs, it has been in effect for a while, and will continue to do so for a month or so after the station point.

Actually, it is a good transit to endure, as Saturn can give structure to your dreams, and since it is 3rd/9th house, it would be a good time to structure your thoughts and get them on paper so to speak - and since Jupiter is transiting the 3rd house, this process will enable you to grow.

Hello to you my sweet heart.

Saturn direct will eventually land slap bang I your sun - as Dave said it's gonna be there a while so there sure is no point worrying about it. Saturn finally getting out from Taurua - means that I for 1 will be very happy.

Now when it lands in your sun - it just means that you will have to hand in all you homework on time. Homework counts in so many ways. If I were you I'd go out and do some partying now and enjoy it before you get stuck at home studying .

It's not a scary thing - go look on Linda Goodman forum - around Nov - Dec last year and look for Tish and MS AVC (I think) thread on saturn. That will help to see whats gonna happen.

My advice would be to by the biggest pencil sharpener in the shop and make shure you have lots of sharp pencils for the duration...hehehehe!

Don't worry - be happy. Ypu're gonna learn so much that your head might explode admittedly so we'll watch out for flying bits and peices - hehehehe

There is a thread that Tish wrote on the Linda GOOdman forum (I think) Called Saturn the gaurdian angel planet. It has some wonderful thought on the benefit of the planet.

To be honest with you - I don't know when Saturn was in my sun sign - but I never noticed it. I could take a guess that is was somewhere around 1992-5 but in reality I think it was mid '80s. I didn't even notice it was there - because it all about work and stuff that you are dong naturally in your life anyways.

Don't be sad or worried - and do keep handing in you homework on time - teachers like that hehheeheh.

I might add that those are the months that the transits are exact - you should a about 2-3 weeks on either side for safe measure. I have already dealt with the transits for you for the year, and when I have some time, I will deal with the rest of them - they are a "long" way off.

Oops, I had done the Pluto stuff, but not the Saturn. Ok, with the North Node, what we are talking about is karma - since the nodes represents points of karma, and Saturn is the Lord of Karma, then what we have is lessons in karma - and they do not have to be "bad". It will deal with the public self of you and your family, with the lessons to be learned about the public self.

The Saturn conjunct Mercury and opposite Uranus is a whole different ball of wax. When Saturn is in hard aspect with Uranus, freedom/limits issues arise, and that with you especially since Mercury is involved (limits on speech) will be something that probably will affect you - you probably like to speak your mind, and that could potentially get you into "trouble" - the point to be learned is that freedom of speech does have limits. Again, family and your public self are involved.

In the time I have done astrology, I have never seen anyone so afraid of Saturn, and it really puzzles me - there are lessons of limits and structure which we all need to learn. Now, Saturn used to be called the "devil" in astrology (and I suspect this is still true in Vedic astrology), simply because it cloaked the energy of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto as well as its own energy. And Saturn in astrology is still regarded as a "malefic" to some people - which is the old school of astrology which really does not have much validity anymore simply because the recognition that planetary energy is neither necessarily "good" or "bad" - Jupiter is regarded as "good" - but one for example may overindulge, and face consequences from that.

The point is that you can't hide from these transits, and there is no point in doing so.

Well, It seems that everyone is happy about Saturn going direct but i'm not sure what i should feel. Saturn has been in my 12th house for the past 2 yrs and has been pounding me over and over again. I have a Taurus rising at 26 degrees. Everytime i try to rise,especially artistically, i get pounded and pushed back down.
if Taurus went retrograde on the 24th of January and it is now the 25th of of Feb, i guess it has entered my first house. More misery i'm not sure but i'm looking for a light. I can't take this situation much longer. Saturn was also opposing my sun in Scorpio at 16 degrees and Uranus at 21 degrees. Its been crazy. I know that when Saturn hits your first house it means obscurity but does it mean misery. At least its getting out of dodge of my sun.
Thoughts anyone?

Both of them are in your 12th house of secrets right now and Jupiter will go into your 1st house of self this year. The advice I have given you has taken this into account. Saturn can also be structure.

The 12th house is the house of the subconscious, and what is going on is that Saturn is giving some structure to it. Perhaps that is why you wanted to go back to school.

The only thing Saturn will do is to go into your 8th house this year. It will retrograde ebfore it hits your Jupiter. If I recall, when you asked me a good while ago about "retiring", I mentioned something about the fact that you would have to watch how you spend your money - this is where that came from.
