Morgan Tsvangirai is leading in the opinion polls, Mugabe is none too pleased and has given the army 100% pay rise and the day off for the election.

The opinion polls were marked by 60% of the people being "affraid" to state an opinion. That said 87% of the poll said that they were still planning on voting.

You can only hope that this election is not going to be rigged and that that there is no violent occurances.

And here's looking forward to the day when high office in general will not be a perk or trophy to be fought over, but rather a needed temporary sacrifice that elder statesmen (hmm ... statespersons? ) are willing to make on behalf of their fellow citizens.
