I got this from a news-head list I'm on that had a hot debate going over American journalists' coverage of Sept. 11 and beyond...
An interesting article in CounterPunch that seemed pertinent to topics of late: "In an August 15 news item carried by Press Gazette Online, Rena Golden, the executive vice-president and general manager of CNN International, admitted censoring news regarding the US war in Afghanistan. This censorship, she explained, 'wasn't a matter of government pressure, but a reluctance to criticize anything in a war that was obviously supported by the vast majority of the people.' "

Also, a good source for news gathered from The Guardian and elsewhere (often reporting on stories that are nowhere to be found in The New York Times, etc.) is http://cursor.org
Says Forbes magazine of the site: "A welcome contrast from the sliced-white-bread tone of so much modern mass-media journalism."

...Not that you should believe Forbes magazine...fer crying out loud! Lol. Talk about the moneyed elite!
