Hi everyone,
this morning the newspaper made me smile. This is not always the case, as many times I just feel down after reading everything that doesn't work... To not give in to hopelessness, I've begun to search for people whose example is encouraging me and echoing my deep belief that "Everyone can make a difference!" Today I found someone else to add to the (unwritten) "People that give me hope for the world" list. He lives in Canada, is 12 years old, his name is Ryan and I'm deeply impressed. He has a vision- a true vision! And from what I read in the newspaper article and on the net, he's not the type of guy who will give up before having done his very best to achieve "the impossible"- which, in his case, means "clean water in Africa". In the newspaper there was a pic of Ryan- young kid with a baseball-cap, but these eyes... What a steady, focused, precise look! These are old eyes, I swear. Boy, what a soul! Okay, I'm sure, you all see by now that he has caught me completely and maybe some of you think I'm exaggerating, but... I felt like these eyes were looking right through me. Gosh, and it was
only a photo in a newspaper article. I'm astonished myself... and I feel joyful... and inspired.

P.S.: Go, Ryan go- and what a teacher you are against the "I can't do anything"-hopelessness. I wish I had only a tenth of your dedication- then I wouldn't be so unsure when it comes to the question of what my part might be.
