Well I finished the book, I did my nurse training about a mile from Rolin, It's a very small town on the south side of the city. It has a glen which is protected because of the wild flowers. I've photos somewhere. I don't think I ever visited the chapel there, but it's a shame because the book will bring out a whole load of cranks.

Good book if somewhat predictable. Angels and Demons it is then...........

"Thanks for the congrats, folks. This job is really a sorely-needed blessing at this time, let me tell you! It's definitely going to take some adjusting to, though. It is very mentally demanding, as well as taking up most of my waking hours at this point! That'll ease up after the initial hump of diving into a whirlwind project with tight deadlines has passed, but it's still going to be a big chunk out of my time and energy. But I can deal with it.

The spooky thing about this for me is that my friend Bill's website that I'm taking care of for him, is about exactly this subject! What's more, a different website devoted to the same ideas was indirectly responsible for the existence of the original Linda Goodman site ... it was there that I met the person who introduced me to Crystal, from which meeting the LG site blossomed!

One thing that is clear beyond doubt, from all the evidence I've seen: whether Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married and had children or not, there has definitely been an underground stream of thought carrying and protecting that message throughout Western history ... it is actually the "Grail" of Arthurian legend, and has been passed on through secret societies and mystery teachings through the ages. A principal element of the story is that Jesus was a direct descendant of the Davidic {King David) bloodline, and had legitimate claim to being "King of the Jews" in more than just spirit. It is believed that this was supressed for political reasons, and knowledge of his parenthood were supressed not for religiopus reasons at all, but because his heirs would be potent political threats to the Roman empire, which (so the argument goes) merged with the Christian Church as a clever strategem to preserve its power, which was being challenged by the growing strength of Christianity among other things. It was at this time that the divinty of Jesus in its currently understood sense became official ... by vote! Prior to that time in the fourth century, the views of Christians on that question were widely varied. (Of course, those folks are not now described as early Christians, but as heretics. It is certainly true that at that time the Christian doctrine and ritual were heavily modified by the popular Pagan religion of the Romans, with almost all of the important Pagan holidays and rituals rededicated as Christian holidays, most likely to make Christianity more palatable to the pagan Romans who had been "converted" en masse by their Emperor Constantine.

As I say, I don't know if all, or any, elements of the story are true, but the scholarly evidence as well as logic in support of it is at the very least a fascinating glimpse into how little we really know about what actually happened thousands of years ago. I can't even begin to recount all of that evidence, but there's a lot of it for anyone who's curious; and most of it is not in works of fiction like The Da Vinci Code, but in books of historical research. A good starting point for the curious is Laurence Gardner's "Bloodline of the Holy Grail."

What's interesting to me about this is not the political intrigue, but the idea that what was "overthrouwn" by such a conspiracy was not so much a royal bloodline (although that's where a lot of folks' interest centers), but the idea of the Sacred Feminine. The Goddess. The coequal divine force of femininity. Although there is no indication of female subjugation in early Christianity, it is there conspicuously in the union of Church and Empire that emerged a few centuries later, in so many ways ... including the conspicuous absence of a female in the Holy Trinity, the proscription of women from the clergy, the portrayal of Eve as the cause of original sin and the Fall through her "temptation" of man ... extending to the persecution and murder of thousands of women as "witches" for practicing herbal medicine, midwifery, or anything loosely interpreted as relating to working with the "natural" world rather than complete subservience to the patriarchal doctrines of the Church, at that time an institution transformed from a small group of devout followers of Jesus into the richest and most powerful entity on earth, one that quite literally ruled the Western world ... often with an iron hand.

Against this all-powerful patriarchy, the "quest for the Holy Grail" became symbolic in underground thought for the recovery and restoration of the Sacred Feminine. And for me personally, regardless of the factual accuracy of the existence of a bloodline heirs of Jesus (and thus of King David), the symbolic quest for the grail is of critical importance for humanity at this time. Unbalanced patriarchal dominance for the past two thousand years, by placing too much emphasis on the male/yang "conquer the problem with force" approach, has created a disastrous imbalance in the world. While accomplishing many admirable objectives through science, technology and administration, its single-minded focus on "getting the job done no matter what the cost" has also resulted in a dangerously degraded environment, a vast overpopulation dependent on natural resources that will not be here tomorrow, and a social/economic structure dependent on slave labor or massive exploitation - and consequently periodic wars - in order to stay "healthy." This is a consequence of worrying only about how to get from point A to B most efficiently, while ignoring the laws of polarity that could have created a more balanced and harmonious civilization. Now we have reached such an extreme that if we do not quickly gain some wisdom on a collective scale and instead keep pushing forward in the same direction, we will soon discover that extremes DO turn into their opposites as we witness massive population diebacks from environmental catastrophe, war/terrorism, famine and disease. Ultimately the collapse of civilization - and perhaps the extinction of human life itself - is the result of what the Hopi (native American) Indians called "koyannisqatsi:" life out of balance. We cannot break the natural law without suffering the consequences.

This is why the Grail quest ... the rediscovery of the Sacred Feminine and its restoration to the "throne" as a coequal balancing force to male dominion ... is of such crucial importance at this moment of human evolution. This, aside from the fascinating historical trail of this line of thought, is what makes the subject interesting and relevant to me.

I should add that author Dan Brown does not impute any ill motives to the modern Church, and in fact goes out of his way to defend the Vatican against such claims ... but the Church of the dark ages was another matter entirely, with clearly acknowledged and well known corruption, repression and tyranny a matter of straightforward historical record. Again, this has nothing to do with Christianity as a religion, but everything to do with the Church as the dominant political and military force on earth. In that context, the suppression of knowledge of Jesus' marriage and fatherhood and the demotion of Mary Magdalene to the status of a "whore" is certainly plausible if it would serve the ends of power. IMHO, regrdless of what one ends up believing as the "facts" of the matter, the history of the belief in the existence and protection of the Grail bloodline is to me both historically fascinating and symbolically relevant.

More later, if anyone's interested.

Love,
Greg

"Halo All

Wow
You go away a month and reTurn to find ancient discoveries and amazing insights hiding in Words and Forums.THis is better than the Learning Channel. With far less commercial interuptions. What a Treat...I only wish there were Cliff Notes to read to cut to the Chase. For so many of You have presented so much useful information.
So much to know in so little Time, do You think We can do It? Decipher all the Codes implemented beyond written History....in the Beginning of Herstory? Back before the "Word" was lost.....
I must say I enjoy the rhetoic here...the presentation of Beliefs and Opinions is quite fascinating to me. People really do have strong convict-eons about what they Believe, and I guess that is a good thing.

The Fervor of INtrigue and Mystory has been disPlayed quite well amongst the KnowestFlakes here, with much taught and much more to learn. The Beauty of It all is that we share our Beliefs with One another and respect them, in turn. For All we know, we will never Know. We can only standUnder this concept and accept our Present condition as temporary....Mortal or Divine, we are only given Time.
Being an Aquarian, I have not read the book as of yet, for it is far too "in" for me to check out just yet, although I have read many others with the same Topics;
"Holy Blood, Holy Grail," "Born in Blood," "The Hiram Key"....All Books attempting to trace time and history, both politically and religiously, in search of the Truth and the unveiling of lies, hoping to link some common thread and answer the 64,000 dollar Question, "Who is God?" But the more I have read, the more conFused I have become...indeed, keeping my Mind open and sharp, in search of answers...but simultaneously distracting me from my Soul Purepose here, to Live my Life in the pursuit of Happiness and Wholeness. To Be at One with My Self and those whom I come in contact with. Live. Laugh. Love.
Yes, I agree with all of You.
This is quite fascinating, for since our Birth, we have ALL been infiltrated with dogmas and doctrines, facts and fiction, hopes and Beliefs, prejudice and opinion..all formulating a generic form of Truth we cling to desperately....until...One day....someone says....."Hey...have You read .......? And they hand You Star Signs. Rex Mundi.
Keep it coming Peoples. This is Good Stuff....
Mean/while...."I'm just sitting here watching the WHeeels go Round and Round....

I restored the merkaba picture Greg had posted on page 5.

Everyone, if you find that attachments or anything you wanted to see is missing ... we probably have it; it just needs tweaking since the server move.

Of course, the smilies from the original LG.net forums disappeared long ago, and Greg never got around to fixing that and I might not either. But other stuff ... let me know if there's anything missing that I can look for.
