Greetings all, Any Scientologists out there? And if so, would you care to explain why a religion would celebrate a man who spends $3 million dollars on a wedding, and wears Napoleon shoes to appear "taller" than his wife? anessene

Lol, don't know much about Scientology and am not sure who you're referring to -- Tom Cruise? But I did just read that Belgium is trying to prosecute the Church of Scientolgy for fraud. The country refuses to give the organization religious status and instead views it as a corporation. Scientology, based in California, has its European office in Belgium, apparently to be near the headquarters of the European Union, but the Belgian government is not impressed. Maria

Yah, you guessed it, Carrie. And "Ugh" is right! Maria, that's some interesting news... I too would question the religious status of that organization, which appears to be more of a secret cult than anything else. I'll admit to not knowing anything about it other than what the media reports, but instinct tells me there's a lot there that we don't hear about. And in my opinion, anything that would change Katie Holmes from a young & outgoing actress to a rapidly-aging "stepford mom" raises my "creepology" antenna. Tara

Hey, folks So, I did a little internet surfing the other day, and came up with some intriguing information. See for yourself by googling "Galactic Confederation." NESARA/Scientology coinkidink? I think not. anessene

hey all, Thought I'd bring this up again, just for kicks. Anyone seen the film, "Superheros" yet? I cracked up when I saw the commercial... As I was the one to start this thread on "Creepology," aka Scientology, I had to laugh with the film's obvious reference to Tom Cruise. I know, I know, if you don't have anything nice to say about someone, don't say it, but to hell with it: I CANNOT STAND THAT PRICK. And his "religion" (aka CULT) sends shivers down my spine; anyone else here do any research into this stuff? Tara

Yeah, Tara, I did go research when you brought it up the last time. I ended up spending days on end in pure horror as I came to really get how this all works and that its all about the dough and the ruined lives along the way are collateral damage. In my own opinion, I now think Scientology is sick slick stuff. Shivers. Maria

hey Maria, Yup, it sure it a sick piece of nonsense... the "recruits" are drawn in by so-called "natural healing processes" and revealing psychological tests, "guaranteed" to help them "eliminate" mental and emotional "aberrations." (Part of the initial recruitment gets people believing that they can rid themselves of ALL the problems in their lives... it is not until long afterward that they are exposed to the dirty little secret agenda, which is to "eliminate" all Supressive Persons, or - better put - the people who are "evil" and against their beliefs.) Stark Neo-Nazi-ism, if you ask me. (Think Hitler vs. the Jews; a Neitsche (sp?) inspired 'superman' race.) L. Ron Hubbard was not only into his Xenu "alien-inhabitants" theory, but also into the expulsion of all that is evil on the planet, ...aka the people who don't believe his concept. Tom Cruise has been fully drawn into it, and most likely believes - in my own researched and intuitive opinion - that he is the 'master' or 'saviour' designed to bring us all to perfection. (I read recently of some quote wherein the actor states that someday we'll ALL be Scientologists, and only reading of the "Suppressive Persons" in the history books.) Which makes me wonder... just what exactly are their true intentions? The money-making scheme is of the pyramid variety; your basic, "pay-as-you-go," concept, and unfortunately, most of the 'general, lower-class' recruits do NOT learn of the "alien/rid the planet of all evil" theories and practises until much later, when they have been forced to leave their families and mortgage their futures. I ask, no - BEG - anyone with a remote interest in this particular CULT, to do the research first! Lately, there has been a large expression of thoughts and theories on Scientology at the Perez Hilton gossip website... look under any piece of "gossip" on Tom Cruise and/or Katie Holmes, and you'll find that a lot of educated people (and some not-so-educated) are posting information and websites to visit in order to learn more about it. For my own part, I would suggest that people look into the following: 1) Galactic Federation (yep, NESARA folks, I'm looking your way) 2) Galactic CONfederation 3) Illuminati 4) xenu.net Now, there's a lot of buzz about people being "threatened," when they fight against this cult, and a lot of it sounds frightening... it's obviously an attempt to keep the "Suppressive Persons" quiet, so they can continue their recruitment in secret. Personally, I don't give a shit. People who live lies and use the threat of negativity and harm in order to coerce their detractors are nothing but cowards and bullies, in my own humble opinion. And the "truth" always comes out, sooner or later. Tara P.S. If you go to Perez Hilton, there's a woman who posts using the name "Tara." That ain't me, if you're curious... I always use an alias.

Greetings! Alright, I know that some of you are reading this, but very few are posting anything. But I shall continue to bump this to the top, as I feel this topic is relevant. (Or at least, worthy of noting in the field of religion and spirituality these days...) Perhaps I am more interested in this subject than others; (my 9th house won't let it rest!) however, that said, I'm going to keep posting information as I wish. I feel deeply in my heart that lives are being ruined as a result of this so-called "religion," and NOTHING will keep me from expressing this fact. An interesting article on Scientology exists at: http://www.radarmagazine.comWhile I may not whole-heartedly condone the counter-actions of a group calling themselves "Anonymous," I am pleased that SOMETHING is being done to call attention to this ruinous travesty of a "religion." anessene

Hi again, Dum-de-dum-de-dum... I'm here all alone on this topic, folks - what's up with that? ANYHOOOOO... I've been researching TONS of websites of late, and I'm considering writing a book. Here's what I've been reading lately: Cults/Mind Control/Dangers Of, etc., at http://www.factnet.org( Fight Against Coercive Tactics Network) Am I the only one who finds this topic relevant to the problems facing society today? Hope not! anessene

For me, the most galling thing was the Lisa McPherson story. I spent probably upwards of 80 hours over time actually reading very deeply into her story from many sources and perspectives. You could just see how the Scientologists nabbed this lively, hard-working, loving young woman, manipulated her through their typical sessions where you pay a bunch of money to Scientology and they record all your darkest confessions (all in the name of "counseling" and "breakthroughs") so they can blackmail you with it. Then soon she's working for a company owned and staffed by Scientologists, making them more money and being goaded by the Scientologist version of the Protestant work ethic into totally wearing yourself out for the good of the company. And she has to do fundraising for Scientology and its "charities." And she has to keep being sent back into Scientology hell for more "sessions" for advancement within Scientology -- and even to keep her job. And they make her cut herself off from anyone who loves her from her pre-Scientology days. And soon her friends, her company, her home, her everything, her entire life, is under Scientology control. And the stress gets to her. And she makes an escape attempt, ending up in a psych ward but not committed there. And the Scientologists come and get her and make her leave there and bring her back and lock her in a room and give her the silent treatment for X number of days until she DIES. And her body, when they get it to the hospital, is covered in cockroach bites. It's a bad, bad, bad, bad business, and I really couldn't even post about what I'd read about Lisa McPherson for literally months. Too real; too horribly sad. Maria

hey Maria Oh yeah, me too... the Lisa McPherson story had me appalled; I found myself searching around as you did, looking for other perspectives on her death. (I believe I was inherently hoping that it was made up, or mistold.) But everywhere I looked, it was the same thing. I found a website that showed a picture of her body after the cockroaches had found her, and it gave me a nightmare that night. (Another story I've read recently was found on http://www.exscientologykids.com, that of a young woman who was brought into the cult at a very young age, and only recently managed to "escape," and tell her story. There are others like her who've posted their childhood stories as well - very interesting.) As well, a few days ago, I went to http://www.xenu.net, and sat for an hour and a half listening to Marc Headley's radio interview. He - a 15 year veteran of the cult, who has now left - along with Jason Beghe, (an actor) have recorded their views of Scientology in interview/YouTube format, for all to hear. Marc's interview is a long one, but worth the time, as he offers the perspective from someone who was involved in Scientology for many years. He gives some background on David Miscavige and Tom Cruise, and offers a different story on just how Katie Holmes was brought into the picture. I must say, while I've been interested in this "field" for years now - alternate religions/cults, etc., - what brought me to learn more about this in detail was the transformation of both Cruise, (who, in my opinion, is in the throes of believing he's Jesus incarnate) and Holmes, who has appeared to have gone from a fun-loving, (if naive) sporty and giggly young woman to a dead-eyed, non-smiling clone of herself. (I've looked at their astrology charts a bit; Katie has a chart which leads me to believe that if we met, we'd be fast friends, and this knowledge pains me deeply, for some reason.) Also on my internet searches, I've come across a website I've mentioned already, - http://www.factnet.org - and it has some interesting comparisons on religions vs. cults; rather a "check-list" for making comparisons between the two. And Scientology comes across as a CULT, plain and simple. I most certainly hope that someday, the efforts of those who are leaving the cult, and those who are urging people to stay away from it, bring this organization to a grinding halt. I hope, I hope, I hope... Tara
