Hey

I've seen a similar list before, although I thought the list I saw had strawberries at the top? My local grocery store has a good organics section, both fresh and canned/frozen stuff, but I find it to be very expensive.

Summer time is better, I guess there are more local producers then, and I think its better to buy local when you can anyway.
Apples I mostly peel, which I think helps, as the skin is relatively thick, thicker than a peach anyway. My store sells a soft-skin peeler, which is great for think-skinned fruits like peaches and tomatoes. I don't know what difference it would make, but if anyone is interested look for the Zyliss soft-skin peeler - it looks like a regular peeler, but with a serrated edge.
I wonder if any of the pesticide content is imporved by cooking? We eat loads of red and oranage and yellow bell-peppers because they are inexpensive and high in Vitamin C and A and fibre too. I always love how my kids happily eat veggies, raw and unadultered, but I guess in some ways its a mixed blessing.
I've actually been trying to buy more organic / free-range meat and dairy products, instead of fruits and veggies, because I think the stuff in factory meat and pultry and milk is probably worse, but that's just my opinion, and that's about as far as my budget can strech to.
Love,
Terri
