Did you all know that eating the leaves of lillies -- even really common day lillies, tiger lillies, Easter lillies, etc. -- is lethal to kitties? It turns out the poinsettia, which gets a lot of publicity for being poisonous to cats, isn't usually lethal, although it makes them vomit and maybe have diarrhea. But lily leaves can kill them.

I just found that out. Really strange, because I've almost always lived places with both cats and lillies. The cats must have never sampled the lily leaves, I suppose. Anyway, I just wanted to pass the word. Don't let the kitties munch on the lillies that are coming up as nice juicy tender shoots now.
