I Remember(It's happening Again) by Griffon House

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJoT96xnRZ0

My grandpa fought in World War II
My uncle fought in ‘Nam
My father was too young
He went to school and met my mom
And her dad always told us stories around dinner time
And there’s one he told when I was young that sticks out in my mind
He said ten years after daddy taught me bout the birds and bees
I was stranded in Pearl Harbor fighting off the Japanese
When the kamikaze pilots came and dove in without warning
I was on the Arizona on a warm December morning

(Chorus)
I Remember
When I was a younger man
We were soldiers
Fighting in a foreign land
Now I’m older
And it’s happening again

It was hard to have forgiveness for the things they did that day
And our President decided we should make their people pay
So we dropped on Nagasaki and we cut ‘em down to size
And the one we dropped on Hiroshima left them vaporized
And I heard some Christian sing, what would Jesus do
What if you were on the wrong side, would he point the gun at you
And they read through every word of Matthew, Mark and Luke and John
So they could see if killing was the side that Christ was on

(Chorus)

And they separate the church and state
And keep God out of school
So our governments can educate
Based upon their rules
But people start to wonder if our politics make sense
When religion is our best excuse for national defense
And when our citizens start saying that our wars are not okay
And Washington keeps telling them God loves the USA
And they teach us history so we can learn from our mistakes
And this generation wants to know how many years it takes
To change the way we treat our neighbors all across the land
Cause if we don’t change our hearts we repeat the past again

I Remember
When I was a younger man
We were soldiers
Fighting in a foreign land
Now we’re older
And it’s happening again

(Instrumental break)
When my grandpa finished talking
We went walking, he and I
I was thinking of the future and how scared I was to die
Now best friend’s overseas in the desert where it’s dry
Fighting for our country and I need a reason why

I Remember
When he was a younger man
Now he’s a solider
Fighting in a foreign land
Now we’re older
God bring him home again

Amen Awomen You couldn't have said more truer words, Chahles.

IxCiel - Love that one from the Beatles 'Here Comes The Sun'. I've had that tune in my head a lot throughout this rainy April, as I long for May's bouquet of flowers.

And wow oh wow does that Stevie Nicks song really take me back to one of the wildest, most bittersweet summers of my youth, when I wore my "Miss Independence" like a crown (thanks for the video Kay). A summer where Charles Dicken's opener in his 'Tale of Two Cities' - 'it was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness" rang so true. *Sigh* I guess that's fifteen for you, which reminds me of another song that tugs on the strings of my heart whenever I hear it - "One Hundred Years" by Five for Fighting:

"I'm 15 for a moment
Caught in between 10 and 20
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are

I'm 22 for a moment
She feels better than ever
And we're on fire
Making our way back from Mars

15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose

15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live

I'm 33 for a moment
Still the man, but you see I'm a they
A kid on the way
A family on my mind

I'm 45 for a moment
The sea is high
And I'm heading into a crisis
Chasing the years of my life

15 there's still time for you
Time to buy, Time to lose yourself
Within a morning star

15 I'm all right with you
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live

Half time goes by
Suddenly you’re wise
Another blink of an eye
67 is gone
The sun is getting high
We're moving on...

I'm 99 for a moment
Dying for just another moment
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are

15 there's still time for you
22 I feel her too
33 you’re on your way
Every day's a new day...

15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose
Hey 15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live"

Looking forward to sharing more beautiful music together.

A Song for you that come to mind and I really like this song too!!!

Venus By Shocking Blue!!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2DBcbZc3ck

A goddess on a mountain top
Was burning like a silver flame,
The summit of beauty and love,
And Venus was her name.

She's got it,
Yeah, baby, she's got it.
Well, I'm your Venus,
I'm your fire at your desire.
Well, I'm your Venus,
I'm your fire at your desire.

Her weapon were her crystal eyes
Making ev'ry man mad;
Black as a dark night she was,
Got what no one else had.
Wow!

She's got it,
Yeah, baby, she's got it.
Well, I'm your Venus,
I'm your fire at your desire.
Well, I'm your Venus,
I'm your fire at your desire.

Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah!
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah!

She's got it,
Yeah, baby, she's got it.
Well, I'm your Venus,
I'm your fire at your desire.
Well, I'm your Venus,
I'm your fire at your desire.

Oh, Venus, wow! Yeah, 15.

This one's for you ... In an 8-room farmhouse, baby...

Definitely one of my all-time feel-good songs: Cherry Bomb.

And some days I still don't know what to do
I hope that they're not laughing too loud

Hi Solane Star,

Thanks so much for posting the video and lyrics of my namesake. This song brings back even more sweet and special memories. I find it interesting that you posted the Shocking Blue version as opposed to the one by Bananarama. LOL I look more like the Shocking Blue girl, especially the way she looks right there wearing the white shirt over to the right in the 4th picture down under the 'Related Videos' section. Too wild! I wonder if I was watching this video from wherever I was hanging out before I was born and if that's why I decided to make my arrival in this life when half the planets & the Ascendant were in signs ruled by Venus. I even have Venus in the 1st house too. LOL \:D Thanks for this very wonderful gift Solane.

Hi Maria,

Hi-5, yeah 15. Isn't that such an incredible age to be? One minute you're taking your first steps toward adulthood and then the next minute, as the Mellencamp tune you posted goes, "Seventeen has turned thirty-five" and the pages of your life become chapters in a blink of the eye. *Sigh* Thanks so much for sharing this video and bringing me back to those wonderful high school days 'when my brother(and sister ) and friends were around, there was always somethin' doin'. When I think back about those days, all I can do is sit and smile." Those were definitely the days. Thank you for this wonderful gift when you are the one supposed to be getting presents now. LOL \:D Hope your special day was an amazing and wonderful one.

Penelope's Song by Loreena McKennitt

Now that the time has come
Soon gone is the day
There upon some distant shore
You'll hear me say

Long as the day in the summer time
Deep as the wine dark sea
I'll keep your heart with mine.
Till you come to me.

There like a bird I'd fly
High through the air
Reaching for the sun's full rays
Only to find you there

And in the night when our dreams are still
Or when the wind flows free
I'll keep your heart with mine
Till you come to me

Now that the time has come
Soon gone is the day
There upon some distant shore
You'll hear me say

Long as the day in the summer time
Deep as the wine dark sea
I'll keep your heart with mine.
Till you come to me

Room's on Fire by Stevie Nicks

Somewhere out in the back of your mind
Comes your real life and the life that you know
It seems like it was the creation of some of those same old things
It seemed to be the only thing left out in the light
She had trusted many
But been unfamiliar with
Almost everyone but you

Well maybe I'm just thinking that the rooms are all on fire
Everytime that you walk in the room
Well there is magic all around you, if I do say so myself
I have known this much longer than I've known you

She had trusted many
And then there would be someone who would enter into her presence
That she could sense for miles
She dreamed of her wanton luxury
And she laughed and she cried and she tried to taunt him
And he hated to be separated
From that picture no

Well maybe I'm just thinking that the rooms are all on fire
Everytime that you walk in the room
Ooh, well there is magic all around you, if I do say so myself
Well I have known this much longer than I've known you

Long nets of white cloud my memory
Long nets of white cloud my memory
Ooh there is magic all around you
Everytime you walk in the room

Well maybe I'm just thinking that the rooms are all on fire
Everytime that you walk in the room
Well there is magic all around you, if I do say so myself
Well I have known this much longer than I've known you

Been mentally spiraling in thought on the recent edginess in our society and talk of a new revolution.

Revolution - The Beatles

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87yq372R4Ts

You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right

You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We're doing what we can
But when you want money
for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right
Ah

ah, ah, ah, ah, ah...

You say you'll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
Well, you know
You better free you mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right
all right, all right, all right
all right, all right, all right

Martin Luther King Jr. quoting Pres. John Kennedy"

 Quote:
As President Kennedy said, 'Those who make peaceful revolution impossible only make violent revolution inevitable.'

Quote from a member of The Weather Underground revolutionary group of the 60's and 70's speaking today in hindsight of the fact that The Weather Underground started out as a non-violent revolutionary group and how it all escalated into violence. Mainly I think because what began as a moral, loved based movement, ended up turning into hate and you know, what you hate you become you just like.

 Quote:
When you think you have the moral high ground you can do horrible, horrible things. We see that today in the terrorists who think Allah is on thier side. That is the dangerous ethical position we fell into."

So as John Lennon said in this song "But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out"

and

"You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We're doing what we can
But when you want money
for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait"

I ascribe to John Lennon's philosophy on revolution because the only freedom that will ever bring change is also as John Lennon says in this song, "Well, you know You better free you mind instead." Because the world is only going to change when people change their minds and themselves instead. And that is true Conscious Evolution.

Just my spiraling rant here. \:D

Hope you don't mind me adding and spiraling off of your rant here, but this video fits beautifully here, don't you think???

The U.S vs John Lennon.....Love and Light!!!!!!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JxpavQb_Fc

I BE-lieve what they did to Jesus, they did the same to John Lennon, out of fear and ego, power & control issues.

We're afraid of Love & Light, Peace on Earth!!!

I love your spiraling, Star \:\)

You made a very profound and true point.

Jesus was charismatic, people were attracted to him and he had a following. Jesus spoke truths that were deemed a threat to those in power. Same with John Lennon and others involved in the anti-war movement. Anyone who has the ability through their words to gain a following and motivate and persuade others is a threat to those in power. Many of the revolutionary leaders of the 60's and 70's were killed. The leader of the Black Panthers, Martin Luther King Jr. etc. Many of their followers were killed too.

Those in power who wish to control do not give up that power easily. They will do what they feel they have to do to hold onto it.

Oh! And while I'm at it, some Talking Heads. Get ready to turn like a wheel inside a wheel. smile

Slippery People
by David Byrne

What about the time
You were rollin' over?
Fall on your face
You must be having fun
Walk lightly!
Think of a time
You'd best believe
This thing is real

Put away that gun
This part is simple
Try to recognize
What is in your mind
God help us!
Help us lose our minds
These slippery people
Help us understand

What's the matter with him? (He's alright)
How do you know? (The lord won't mind)
Don't know no games (He's alright)
Love from the bottom to the top
Turn like a wheel (He's alright)
See for yourself (The lord won't mind)
We're gonna move (Right now)
Turn like a wheel inside a wheel

I remember when
Sittin' in the tub
Pulled out the plug
The water was runnin' out
Cool down
Stop acting crazy
They're gonna leave
And we'll be on our own
Seven times 'live
They were living creatures
Watch 'em come to life
Right before your eyes
Backsliding!
How do you do?
These slippery people
Gonna see you through

What's the matter with him? (He's alright)
How do you know? (The lord won't mind)
Don't know no games (He's alright)
Love from the bottom to the top
Turn like a wheel (He's alright)
See for yourself (The lord won't mind)
We're gonna move (Right now)
Turn like a wheel inside a wheel
