This is my seocnd attempt at trying to write this, as I just hit the submit key, internet explorer crashed....
Anyway, Mercury is going retro on Monday the 26th, and will be that way until June 19th - the degrees are 21 to 12 Gemmini and means that this one is going to be very long... 24 days... So, look at the houses and aspects - the information in more detail is in the calendar.

hiya Dave, Hmmm, so if you could say a quick note about Merc retro in my 7th house, sextiling my natal Sun (at 13* Leo) in the 8th, what would that be? I've got a disability pension appeal hearing coming up mid-July, so I'm attempting to keep my "eyes on the skies," so to speak, and to take advantage of whatever may come my way! Tara P.S. It's kinda funny that your internet explorer crashed while you were writing about Merc retro, eh?

Tara,
Mercury will have ended the review on July 4th (imagine what that will be like!) so you are in the "clear" so to speak....
Oh yes, it was amusing that the system crashed - but hey, we are in the review period already!

Hmmmm..... "in the clear," you say? WOOHOO! Boy, Dave, I sure hope I am! This appeal hearing has been a long-time-comin', and falls exactly on the 6th year anniversary date of the car accident that prompted the need for a disability pension in the first place! (July 15th... A Sun conjunct Vertex in the 8th house kind of day!) Trace, "thoughts and communications regarding relationships" ... <insert theme from "The Twilight Zone" here> YIKES! Tara

Tara,
At least Mercury will have passed the point at which it turned retrograde - as for the outcome, it depends on what is going on elsewhere...

Well, Dave, here's hoping! I've got Jupiter (although retro) conjunct my Part of Fortune in my 2nd house, which sounds good, as well as a Mars/Saturn conjunction in Virgo in my 9th, with Saturn conjuncting my natal Mercury at 8* Virgo. The Sun conjunct my natal 8th house Vertex is what stands out the most, though; definitely a planned "event" for my life, that's for sure! The car accident was on July 15th, 2002 - and here we are, 6 years later... time for a karmic reward? Hope so! Tara

hiya Dave, Great news! I've had my Disability hearing date moved up a week to July 8th! 36 days and counting... The new date is the date of my Lunar Return, so the Moon is in Virgo, conjunct my natal Moon (of course) in the 9th, as well as my progressed Sun & Mercury, (in the 8th house of my progressed chart). Jupiter will be tightly conjunct my Part of Fortune, closer still than the previous date. Sounds pretty darn good to me... what do you think? Any thoughts? Tara

Tara,
While nothing is "certain" with those types of hearings, it looks fairly good for you as for the reasons you gave and also the fact that a week prior to when it was scheduled gives you the transiting Sun in the 8th house ($$$) opposing your natal Jupiter in your 2nd ($$$ for you!)...

Tara, I zapped the birth data from that chart, per your request. Connie, have them check the thermostat first. That's what it was when my dryer went out. Maria

Geeez, and speaking of Mercury retro-"action," I've had some excitement myself! First, my home computer died. Then the computers at the library where I go to post online died. Then, once the library's computers were replaced, I took one of the old ones home, (fixed, of course) and had problems with my old monitor, which died and needed replacing as well. <sigh> I'm up and running now, but as of this morning, I woke up late to an alarm clock that didn't work, was 1/2 hour late getting to an appointment at the library, (I was hosting a discussion table), because I had to run my cat to the vet - in the pouring rain - with an eye infection. Upon leaving the vet, I then realized I had ALSO scheduled a doctor's appointment this morning - which I had COMPLETELY forgot about - and which had to be cancelled... (I hope I called her in time so that I don't get charged for the missed appointment!) This is what I looked like by the time I made it home from the veterinarian's office and back to the library's discussion: (I'm almost afraid to go home now! ) Tara

Hello Moonflower, Do you grow moonflowers? They are something! The fragrance and the way you can watch a bunch of them open up instantly at a precise time in the late afternoon. I didn't get any in the ground yet, but this week I can! Your nom de net reminded me. On the clothes dryer breaking down, I have a great dryer but love to hang clothes outside. Our pollen is just about over and I saved some laundry! So is it a merc rx blessing? As for me, I don't know what this or any future merc rx could demonstrate to me that I don't already know is screwed up! Love, PD

Dear Tara, I hope your monitor is okay. When mine died, good used ones were easy to come by and free! Glad you are still on line. Love, PD

Tara, I believe every time the thread opens and the image loads into the page the download counter tallies up another download. That would be why the tally is so high. After a day like this, I hope you get a chance to unwind! I hate that when I run late and forget things. PD, I love moonflowers too. I used to have them in the garden at a house I used to live in.

hiya guys! Well phew! I'm glad to hear that about the downloads, Maria - thanks for clarifying. It was getting me thinking in a rather strange paranoia-inducing way. This Merc retro is squaring a whole bunch of my personal planets - both progressed AND natal - and I ain't particularly enjoying it! And yup, PD, I got my monitor replaced easily enough, thank goodness! Hopefully soon, when this damned disability thing comes through for me, I'll have enough cash to set myself up on the internet at home with a brand new system! (Although I'll miss coming to the library as often.) That said, I'm heading home now to chill out with a mug of something frosty, and a good book! Tara

It's almost over... I don't know about the rest of you, but I've found that this retro (the one that happens in the spring/summer) brings about information related to the year (or years) prior from the same time frame, and not just the current cycle. Information that has been real helpful and empowering and allowed me opportunity to say what I never got the chance to say about an issue that came up then. So for me, Merc retro (or at least this one) is a good thing.

Agreed on the car trouble; agreed on the old stuff. Linked me back up with a fellow Owl as well. I'm going to go to her solstice ceremony. You gals would like Deanna, but she'll never come online. She's all feathers and medicine sticks. All in all, a rather productive Mercury Retrograde! Maria

Venus, I guess unresolved communications is a way to put it. There just wasn't enough information to address the individual at the time... that came during the two spring/summer retro periods following. Besides if I had addressed the issue at the time, it probably wouldn't have come off very well. One doesn't want to go off half cocked on a Leo... especially one married to the Assistant County Attorney of your town. Handling it the way I did has seemed to work out best... even if it did take 2 years to resolve. I'm glad to hear that your nightmare is coming to resolution too and that you have felt empowered as well. Maria, Your fellow Owl (is that your chinese zodiac animal or something else?) sounds , as does the Solstice celebration you'll be joining in. I'll be celebrating it by camping this weekend. My stepdaugher is coming down as well as some friends from Louisville, so it should be a fun celebration to officially bring in summer!

Whew! Happily, the degrees of the retro didn't do much to me personally....but hopefully this means my customers will stop buying stuff and returning it now. That's a classic retro behaviour that I only catalouged recently. I guess there's still the chance stuff will get returned till Merc makes up its lost degrees... Oh, and my son mentally checked out of school the last week of May, but since there's only 4 days left, I don't suppose it much matters now if his brain turns back on. That might not have been retro-related anyway - could just be spring-fever. I should track the spring-summer retro of the next couple years, all my mom-friends and the teachers at the school always comment on how the kids stop learning after our May long-weekend. I think that co-incides pretty closely with the retro.... Interesting story Kel, about unresolved communications coming forward. I'm going to watch that as my life unfolds over the next couple years... I thought you handled that situation really well too - very classy. Sometimes it pays to watch and wait. Love, Terri

WOOHOOOOOOOOOO!! Damn, I'm glad to see this particular Merc Rx go by... all of that Gemini stuff squaring my Virgo stuff... But it did help with clarifying a few communication issues; I got a lot of paperwork ready for my disability hearing coming up next month, (I'll double-check it after the review ) and I found myself doing a ton of journal writing, getting some thoughts "off my chest," so to speak. I'm also reconsidering diving back into a screenplay I began a couple thousand years ago (2003, but it feels longer than that) and - considering this involves the rememberance of some pretty ICKY and psychologically disturbing events that occured in my past - I'm at last now feeling as though I may be able to get back into it without the baggage of the emotional responses I had at that time. (Thanks for part of this goes to Saturn hovering pleasantly over my South Node, reminding me that "this too shall pass," and keeping my ideas on the back burner until Mercury said it was "OK.") And say, as Kelly mentioned, those "unresolved communications" issues have certainly cropped up in my life as well. Some of these issues were difficult to face; honesty about my sexuality, being unafraid to face up to lies I've told in the past (regarding said sexuality) and learning to let go of relationships and burdens in my life that were no longer important. Sometimes, it's better to say, "Ok, this isn't working. Thanks for the experience, but it's time to move on. Holding onto this is only hurting me..." rather than, "Dammit! Why does this keep falling apart? WHY am I always dealing with this shit?" <sigh> Don't get me wrong; I'm still learning, but WHEW, this Merc retro has REALLY helped me out some. (Of course, lots of planets passing through Gemini right now; they're all playing a role, I'm sure, forcing my Virgo stellium to do some house-keeping) but Mercury transits (the ruler of my 7th house) always bring about much-needed change in my relationships. Glad to see that we've all pretty much survived. Tara
