Aw, shucks, guys!

Thanks for the birthday wishes, my friends.

It was pretty low-key; no major shopping sprees as of yet, but I DID treat myself to some cake and ice-cream, and soaked up the sun for a few hours in true Leo fashion.

Happy Belated BD Tara . Sorry I missed it... haven't been online much in the past couple of weeks. I was on vacation, and am still recovering from it this week. Glad you got to soak up some of that . Good for the Leo soul. And cake & IC are good for any soul.

These days, I'm still waiting on that big ol' "birthday gift from the government," haha, but I'm hopeful it will arrive soon.

The fun part lately is tweaking and honing my shopping list while I soak up the rays...

And I'm excited to at last be 38 years old, as strange as that sounds. I like the numbers for it; 38 itself reduces to an '11,' and my full birthday this year is a '23,' one of my fave numbers of all time.

Hey Tara,I do that too... add my age to look at the number vibration of the age I'm at. Mine will be an 11 this year as well, and I too am looking forward to it. I've never added my birthdate with the current year before though to look at that. Lets see now, it would be a 21. I do look at the personal year I am in though, which is the reduced number of the current year's birthdate, so it's a 3 this year.

Did you know that Gandhi has a granddaughter named Tara? I found that out yesterday while reading the book I've been trying to finish for ages now. I'm determined to finish it this week!

I seem to recall you had posted some info quite a while back about the personal years; do you still have it? That '23' I got is the current year's birthday for me, so it would be a "5 year."

I imagine it's all about communication, but if you still have that info, could you share it?

Wow, I'm glad I asked you to post it again... the upcoming '5' year sounds great! (At least, compared to the year I've just survived, hehe)

I like this part: "You are in the middle of the nine-year cycle, so expect the universe to send you surprises, especially in May and September."

Perhaps in September I'll receive my retroactive pay?

And, "You may be feeling restless after the restrictions of the previous year. Take that trip you've planned and saved for."

Gonna treat myself and take a trip to Salem, Massachusetts for the Samhaim festivities this fall... sounds like a great time to go, as I've always wanted to.

Yes, it does sound pretty good all in all. I'm not looking forward to the approaching 4 year, but hey I guess a hard working 4 year should pay off with the 5 that follows.

Most numerology systems start the personal year at the start of the year in Jan, so you've been in a 5 year. Get any surprises in May of this year?

Hmmmmmm.... what DID happen in May? I forget.

The only thing I can say for sure is that I adopted a stray cat on May 9th, whom I've named "Lucky Louie" He was nosing around our building for a few weeks, and then one day our paths crossed while I was outside with another of my cats, "Jack," and I fell in love.

I took him to the vet, got his respiratory infection cleared up, and now he's a full-fledged member of my family.

I can't really recall what else happened... hmmm, I'll have to think on it. Hopefully September brings some more good surprises!

Yesterday, I had another "birthday" of sorts... my pension retroactive pay was finally received!! YEEEHAH!!!

So, as you can imagine, first thing I did after leaving the bank was buy myself a brand-new memory foam mattress... 10" thick, queen-size, and on sale for $399.99!

(So darned cheap, I got the pillow to match)

And lemme tell ya, I slept better last night with this mattress on the floor than I have all year with my coiled double bed! I had 6, (count 'em) SIX straight hours of uninterrupted sleep!

<sigh>

Next on the shopping trip: a lovely platform bed and matching dresser/nightstand suite!

Money and a new bed! It must be the thing to do when one comes into some money. Brenda got a new bed after her Dad passed, and most recently my Stepfather asked if there was anything I/we needed money for. I decided that a new bed and bedroom set would be the thing (besides some things the car needs and a Kirby sweeper), so I am going out tomorrow to shop around and see what is available. Every bed and bedroom set I've had as an adult have been hand me downs. It will be nice to have a new one! I guess you could say that I'm giving myself a belated BD present as well.

Oh YEAHHH, I'm super excited! Thanks for the congrats. This new bed of mine is an absolute dream!

Each night ever since it's been a joy to head off to bed. Up until now, it's been such a CHORE, as usually I'm guaranteed an hour's worth of insomnia, followed by 2-3 hours of fitful sleep... ACK.

The past few nights, I lay down, emit a contented {{{sigh}}} and within 5-10 minutes, I'm in dream world. And waking up each morning a little less stiff and creaky is a damned fine good thing!!

You know, I've noticed that too about folks getting new beds with windfalls... must be a primal thing. Like you, all of my beds have been "hand-me-downs" or "donations," and it's lovely to have only my own energy associated with the new one.

I'm glad you guys will be getting a new suite yourself... will you go for memory foam as well?

Hi Tara,

It must be some kind of primal thing. That and we spend up to a third of our life sleeping, so you might as well be comfortable and feel rested when you wake up!

I've thought the very same thing as you about the energy part of it, only I was thinking it will be nice to have a new bed with no one's energy already on it.

Yes, I plan to get a Temperpedic that has some kind of cooling layer on top. I've been doing some online research. Most of them have shipping included.
