Thankyou my beloved Kitty...who knows all and
feels all.
As you 3 well know, my birthdays have been hard in recent years due to it being the anniversary of my wonderful Mothers passing. But maybe enough time has passed....maybe enough healing has happened....who knows?
I took the bull by the horns this year and made my 'own' to be my own.
I bought myself a beeeeeuuutteeeful all chocolate cake (thankyou Darling Dar' for the inspiration), complete with barvarian filling....absolute heaven!
I had my favorite baker write "Happy Birthday to Me" on it.
When he asked why I did'nt put my name, I said 'hey, I know my name'
I took it to church to share with my blessed church friends and when they said "Happy Birthday to me????" I said "It's your birthday???? Happy Birthday!!!"
It was a year of funny cards, and all my kids remembered this year.....low key, but full of love which is just what I needed.
Andrea called my office machine and sang Happy Birthday which was a smile-ey way to start the day.
To just round out the week the evil tree men were out to mutilate my trees, and by the time I was done blessing my trees (While they watched) with the incantation given me by dream, they decided I was a witch and were scared enough of me to leave my trees with only moderate trimming.
This was sooooo coooool.....the day before they were to come, I woke with this in my head:

I know the last part came from Linda, but I have no idea where the first part came from.
So I blessed the trees with sunflower seeds, and the sandlewood oil that Suchi recommended, then I smudged them all while the tree guys watched....and then I very seriously
with a straight face warned them to be careful as they worked.
They could not get off my property fast enough!
The foreman even argued with his boss about a big limb and said to me "I told him, you know, how you are" and then his boss gave me the choice to tell them that they were done, and so thats what I said....."you're done!"
They picked up their little bag of tools and drove to the next block as fast as they could! hahahahahahah
Pretty damn good considering they planned on killing my 3 beautiful maples completely....I wound up with a small pile of wood to give to my friend Peggy who burns wood for heat in the winter.
My favorite squirrel Nutters even played along, by screaming and chattering at the men, and I went outside and called him....he ran to the edge of the branch above me and told me all about the bad men there.....and I talked to him and promised that they would not hurt his house.
Nutters was just bitching out the foreman something awful, but when I talked to him and promised him that it would all be ok, he laid down on the branch and stayed there quietly all day...with his arms and legs draped over the sides of the branch.
Hahahaha....I watched as the men would walk by, and their heads would turn with their eyes looking up at Nutters every time they passed him.
I don't know how that squirrel knew....but I could not have written a better script. That squirrel played along so perfectly!!!!!
I knew this would all come down during my birthday week, so it was such a blessing.
The village manager contacted me so ask what I had said to the tree guys....he said they are terrified of me....
Everyone flooded horribly here this week as Ike passed over us, but we never so much as gained a puddle around my house even tho the neighborhood took 12&1/2 inches of rain.
All in all in could have become a weekend of drudgery here, but it was'nt....as if a rainbow of light stayed over my home.
So I start my next solar year with a breath of Light.
And I bless you 3 for remembering me.
This has been hard in the last years and you 3 and others have held me up.....I thank you.
