 Hi there, it wasnt until early this year, Summer's gone now (just entered Autumn) that I really did happen to notice the bird song, and on and on it went. So after reading Lindas chapter on this years ago, I decided to do a bit of searching online over the last few days and put this post together... thoht you might like to read it here as well... regards C.D  p.s That link to the website is very indepth and lengthy, so if you don't mind it won't matter...

FORGOTTON MELODIES
A relatively recent discovery has been an instrument called an Eidophone. It consists of a tightly stretched drum surface, covered evenly with a very moldable, pastelike substance. Sounds and words are uttered beneath the drum by human voices (happy, positive words) -- and the sounds of such spoken words cause beautiful shapes to form in the flexible paste, exact replicas of trees, ferns and flowers, as they are in nature.
If sand is spread on the drum surface instead of the pastelike substance, then the sounds of "happy" words spoken beneath the drum cause the sand to produce precise geometrical designs, rather than plant forms. These are called Chladni figures, after inventor Ernst Chaldni, who discovered this phenomenon and enlightened the late 1700's and early 1800's to several secrets of our environment.
When ugly, obscene or vulgar words are spoken beneath the drum, creating discordant or disharmonious sounds, both the paste and the sand form chaotic patterns with no shape or form.
It's been repeatedly observed and carefully recorded that plants will grow faster, healthier and taller when the "music of the masters" is played near them continually, symphonies and the like. When loud and discordant rock music is played near them continually, the plants are sickly, grow very slowly and their growth is stunted, the full height two to four inches shorter than the plants that were lullabyed by the harmonious cords of symphonic music.
More evidence of the power of sound is birdsong. Assuming you don't spend all your time in the city, have you ever noticed the chorus of bird song all day long in the spring?

After the leaves are full, the chemical activities of the trees, plants and flowers change every day in the summer -- at dawn and at twilight. At night, all plant life breathes in carbon dioxide. At dawn and early morning, in the summer, they breathe out pure oxygen. The times of the changeover are heralded by the birds; are actually stimulated by the birdsong, but the sterile rules of biology recognize only the synchronicity of it, typically ignoring the clear evidence of cause and effect, unable to explain any other reason for nature's precise timing of the seasonal and daily fluctuations of birdsong. In winter months, of course, birds fly south to where other greenery needs the growth signals of the sound of their singing.

Dear Crazy Daisy! How lucky we are tohave you to do all the searching and pulling things together you do! Your post about the words making different images on the drum surface corresponds exactly with the work of Dr. Emoto "The Hidden Messages in Water" in which he found the same effect on water through water crystals. It shows what a sieve my brain is when I didn't remember this part of Star Signs while reading The Hidden Messages in Water! I can't wait to read the ebook by Annie Besant! Thanks for posting this Daisy!  After reading it... I now see why PD is so stoked, it really does parallel Dr Emoto's work. That is the next book I plan to read. I got it at the library a couple of years ago for .50 cents but haven't read it yet. Right now I'm working on "Yoga, Youth & Reincarnation" which we got in Canada almost 6 years ago.  PD, I noticed the name of one of the authors of that book too.  I'm sure that Dave has read anything written by her.

Dear CD,
Very interesting reading on the Annie Besant link. About 45 short pages, about how thoughts matter, and the effects of music too.
That's great how the bird song led you to all this. Nice discovering.

Hi Veneo, have read so much online since 2001 a lot of books have been put on hold. which reminds me, last night looking for books (have put a lot together in a box, and wondered if one in particular was there, No!) I found The Miracle of Water by Masaru Emoto, which I got late last year. Great have that on hand...Then came across The Healing Energies of Water by Charlie Ryrie, this is copywrite 1999.  There is a chapter on the Memory of Water, he goes on to say the idea of water transmitting vibrations is not new. The practice of potentizing by exposing it to subtle energy, or to specific electromagnetic frequencies, has been practiced for around 200 years in homeopathy where remedies charged with different frequencies (at different resonances) produce different biological effects. But goes on to say that homeopathy has never been fully accepted by either conventional science or orthodox medicine...Do remember when first getting this book and thinking that is was a real eye opener... In the Northern Hemisphere Spring and especially Summer have been officially over for a little while... Has anyone noticed the birds / and if so did any of the Bird Song just happen to fit in with what this post suggests about the growth of Trees being connected to their Song during spring and then during summer, but only at dawn and then again the twilight hours ? Hi Daisy It's so nice to see you here! Are you enjoying the new emoticons?  Happy Spring down there in OZ... it just turned spring on the 22nd, so that wasn't too long ago. Your birds should be pretty busy down there!  I have noticed all of these things... I think that is why Spring is my favorite season. I'm not much of a morning person, so I enjoy hearing the birds singing so much in the spring, but if you are up and out in the morning the birds are always singing no matter what the season. I like hanging out and stretching on my back porch because there is always a bird or two that either chirp at me or each other. My husband's Mom who passed last May loved birds. When this one brown one with white on it's wings (not sure what kind of bird it is) chirps at me when I'm out there I say "Hi Di".  We're enjoying Fall right now, and although it's pretty and the coolness is a nice break from summer, it's not my favorite season because I can feel Winter (my least favorite season) coming just around the corner. I'll have to see how active the birds are during the winter mornings, as I don't seem to notice them as much then. Maybe I'm so down with the winter blues that I forget to check in on the birds.

I have to share what I know with you. About 6 weeks ago my sister's mother-in-law died. My soul sister Broken Arrow is a Lakota shaman. She told me to pay attention at the funeral for crows to appear. They bring messages from Spirit and helps souls to cross over.
That day we didn't see any crows, but a blue jay was quite busy crying!
I just wanted to let you know what I know, and I feel that all the different magpie sightings your friend's family has had are a sign for them. I think it's far too much to be a coincidence!
Doves represent the Divine Mother, the female essence. Our friends H. and S. see doves flying in and out of their hearts when they are receptive to Spirit.

* I found this letter in the mail box, from the Lady I got the bird info for. Dear V, thanks for the bird information. It seems to be piecing together-birds are our spirit guides. It was very interesting. Now we have to use the wisdom we learn. I have now a firm belief in the soul living on, whatever form that is. I will use my experience, hopefully in the betterment of fellow man. I feel it is important to teach others to use our lives wisely-eg. in helping others. but I think you know that, as you have those gifts also. Hi CD I hear ya on the birds. Whenever I am out on the back porch they try and communicate with me (although I don't know what they are saying)... the one brown one (mentioned above) especially. Troy says it always sings to him. He also saw a hummingbird when he was out fishing on a lake. This is an unusual spot to find a hummingbird... out over water that far. This was his Mom's favorite bird, so he had no doubt that it represented his Mom letting him know that she was OK and in a better place.  One bird that always makes it's presence known to me when we go to one of the lakes by us is the Blue Heron. I was watching one on the bank (about 10 - 12 feet from me) of the water while I was swimming and it went and caught and ate a fish right in front of me. That was pretty exciting!  I'm going to have to look into the different messages and meanings of specific birds. One thing I noticed the other week that I forgot to share, was the amount of singing the birds were doing just before sunset. The moment the sun hit the horizon they stopped. That was pretty wild. It's not only birds with me, but most animals I come in contact with that I make a special connection with. Maybe it's because I'm an Earth sign.  Butterflies are my Mom's way of sending messages to me.

My father passed away on March 6. I was sitting beside his bed dozing, my mother beside me, also trying to catch a nap. I woke to my brother tapping me to indicate a decrease in my father's breathing. This interrupted a vivid vision I was having of a straight line of large birds, geese or herons, about five, silhouetted and gently winging toward the great golden sun setting over the calm ocean, everything yellow, orange, and red. Dad's breath stopped within moments. Later, when I told what I saw, my mother said, "I saw the same thing!!" I have that Ted Andrews book too and I love it. Hi Kelly, I loved reading what you wrote here. It's so good to see you.

Hi Donna, That is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your vision and experience with us. My great aunt and I shared a dream two nights before she passed. It woke her up and she told her friends about it because she knew it meant she was leaving. It woke me up too, but I was young and didn't understand what it meant -- just that she and I were together but she was sliding away. She wasn't sick, just getting on in years, and I didn't understand it would be so sudden. When I went for her funeral, I told her friends about my dream and they told me about hers, and they were a very close match and the same night. It gives me great comfort and reassurance. I hope you and your mom (and brother) feel that too. Maria

Hello Dear Friends, I'm so thankful this website is here and holds our conversations so that we can respond as time allows. It is just amazing how strong is the pull of this earth spinning and making us spin with it and just burn through minutes and hours and days. Still here is my first and only internet HOME where I can get off the carousel! Thank you so much for your shared thoughts. Kelly, I'll share that recently a great blue heron has been accompanying me on walks, on the shore side which is unusual as it usually stays on the marsh side. We have gotten very close and then it just wings a little further ahead of me and lands on the next jetty. I also read in William Butler Yeats "Mythologies" that the heron is the connection between worlds, so perhaps it was herons I saw silhouetted in that vision. Herons, geese, angels, whatever, I just knew they were carrying my father's soul home. Maria, your dream shared with your aunt comforts me as well. Doesn't having this peace of mind we share here make such a difference in life. If more people could find it, and they are, we could be seeing a new world.   PD

Hey CD & PD, I have more bird stories to share.  Troy's mom had a thing for hummingbirds, and birds in general, so his mom lets him know she is around with birds. He was fishing in the middle of a big lake when a hummingbird appeared and hung out by the boat. It was the first time he'd ever seen a hummingbird out over a lake like this... very unusual occurrence.  For me, I too have had a thing going on with a Great Blue Heron. I always see them when I am out at either of the two lakes I live near. We have a camping area we always go to at the one, and there is a Great Blue that hangs out there. I've watched it catch and eat fish and just hang out in a tree very close to where I am swimming. One time I just hung in the water for what seemed like forever just watching it. It was so surreal. I wonder if it was my Mom's way of trying to communicate with me since I haven't had many dreams about her (I don't usually remember my dreams). Cool about the meaning of the Heron.

Hi Kelly, Tracey, Maria, Daisy and All,
How sweet that the first thread to come across is "Forgotten Melodies." As well as to have an opportunity to be here again.
I finally got rid of the old sluggish pc and so will automatically have more time to stay in touch.
Kelly, great hummingbird story. We added perennials last year with butterflies and hummingbirds in mind and so when I see them I'll think of your stories.
Tracey, belated Happy 10th Anniversary! I have always wished I had found the website a lot earlier than I had.
Maria, thanks for keeping the Light on. The banner above has always looked so beautiful and perfect, so I hope it stays and stays. Your dream story made me think that so many people must have these dreams which awaken us to all the possibilities of spiritual life.

I just wanted to say " THANK-YOU " to you ALL, for keeping the " DREAM " a-LIVE here and inspiring ALL who still come here to read and share y-OUR BE-auit-FULL writings & posts. I've BE-en FEEL-ing a little down of sorts these last few days ( Melancholy) and was drawn here to rememeber what has BE-en transpiring in my life thus far and ALL the gifts that Mother Nature has BE-en providing for me over the last 2yrs of my life. You took the words right out of my mouth. It's so amazing to fathom that an entire decade has passed since the day I registered at this amazing place that Greg's loving efforts created for us and Maria's loving efforts has kept for us to visit when we can. I just had to drop by on this 10th anniversary of becoming a member here to show my gratitude for this wondrous place of love and light that changed the course of my life for the better. With the loving support of the amazing and enlightened people I have met here along the way I do believe I have traveled far on my path toward conscious evolution. I will never forget you beautiful souls who have made such a difference in my life with the wisdom you all have shared. I hope there is still more to come.
