I have loved,or not,
on this Earth
for centuries
it seems

it has
come
and
gone
with a flick
of mind.
or the mind of the
universe.
or the will
of a soul to pass
into the ether
to be of use somewhere else.

resigned.
I will not hunt
for love,
with neither a spear
or a cupids bow
and arrow.

I have not imagined
my entitlements
nor manifested them
with my thoughts,
as love for another
should be received as a gift.
given as a surprise from
the universe.
a reward for
all good deeds done.

maybe not.

II

ethos
arrived.
packaged
in the most undesireable
way.
wrapped in shreded
black ribbon
with a note, which read
i can never be yours.

together magik, not manifested
through incantation. lies at our feet
like a well loved dog.

effortlessly we call the wind

roses, fragrant,
bloom in winter snow.
lives are healed
with our together glances.
we are a gift wrapped in ribbons
of etherial glow.

promises
we made
to others.
who are still strangers
to our thoughts and souls

rote loving.

promises made.
promises believed
at the time they were made

promises.
man made.
flawed
the anti-christ
of love and
true accomplishment.

keep them or not.

It was not an unhappy 'wow' at all.
The imagery of your words
reached deep into an intimate part of
my soul....into a catharsis of Feeling and Remembrance.
It is a gifted writer who is able to do that
with merely a phrase.
I feel honored for your sharing.

As a writer (of sorts) myself,
I understand that it isn't an easy thing
to put yourself out there.
At times the writing is like a part of our Selves;
naked, hoping, vulnerable.
Most often the poetry we write
is from the deeper part of ourself
that doesn't always see the light of day.

I hope you'll share again sometime.
