Willow forest
culminates
at state road

there i will
build
a farm stand
made of
old wood.
brown
and splintered
where spiders
laid their
eggs
and squirrels
once
chirped
their love
song
to the earth.

The travelers
along this winding road
on their
way to and fro
deep in
plan
for their
hurriedworried
lives
will stop,
and
breathe
the aroma of sweetness
apples, cinnamon
and the
stars.

in each
buttery morsel
will be my love and
prayers for peace

If they ask,
I will tell them what I know
about life,
the forest
and
the trees
and the Earth, and
our lives at work

and someday
I hope to be known
as that crazy lady
on route 28
who makes
magic pies

was fresh,

streaked with purple
amber
glow.
i wandered
into
willow
woods

the crisp crunch
of leaves
and small
sticks
beneath my boots
filled my weary ears
with wonder.
small sounds
so beautiful
in their ageless song


Then
I felt you
in a breeze
behind me.
singing
Sinatra
in your usual
lilting
tone.
I never
told you
how your voice
made me
hold hard
my soul
so it would not escape
and return
to heavens call.

You are the only one
who
could sing me
into death
and make
my eternal
sleep
step
comfortably
under my skin.

I
turned and there you were
smiling
and holding your
hand
out straight
moving forward
as you did
so many times,
to run
your fingers down my arm
as if

The woods
believe

trees

I remember our laughter
that lit the sky
with applause of thunder
just for us.

So joyous was our respite.
Too young were we to know
what true gift
our friendship bestowed
upon a boy and a girl child.

Ethos
a magi's gift
for two
wounded children
to behold.

You held me close,
when i was bleeding
you put band aids on my
soul.
We sang "ukele lady "
together
and laughed until
our hearts were healed
from the days damaging
rays. just life. but harrowing
and eternally harmful
to our child's minds.


Together
from our sorrows
we'd glide,
gripping hands
lifting each other
up and away
from others less kind than
we. Those who broke
our collective heart
with precise consistency

I remember our tears.
together we cried
through wars
unjust, singing songs
of liberation.
just you and me.
in and out of tune
so merrily.

Friends of mind ,body and soul.

and then we went
our way,
you traversed
your potholed road
and me mine.
a half a life
time ago.
tripping over our own shoelaces
and our
egos.
and our lives happened.
They just happened.

and now...
through sheer
error,

we meet again,

we have each traveled
so many miles
from home,
here we are

now finally, it is home
because through some
benevolent act of the cosmos

True story my CE friends. We are meeting again for the first time this Sat. My heart is filled with pure joy. YAY. Otis has entered the building, again.

Yesterday
We
Went to
Willow woods

In our arms,
Grandma’s worn wicker
Basket, every wobbly
Stick, so full of memories
Of her and her wishes of love


Freshly baked bread
And cheese
Home brewed beer
Spiced strawberry cider, and shortbread cookies
Dipped in smooth decadent chocolate
Ready to excite our palettes
our senses…
an offering to
God of thanks
For this day of
Beautiful intention.

As we entered,
The canopy of
Bare trees bowed
In welcome.
Elves disappeared behind
Their stumps
And the fae
Glittered and sang
In glee. Little fae songs
Just for we.

The wind swirling welcoming
Leaf kisses around our
Bodies
We sat.

An old plaid blanket
Shielded us from
The hard cold ground.
The winter birds gathered
For the crumbs
And the squirrels
Jerked their tails
At us as
They ran the
Trees in search of a better
View of love

We danced, as you sang
And tripped over sticks
And laughed until our
Skeletons ached.
We played our guitars
And sang old
Irish folk songs in harmony
in rhythm
To the twitching squirrels tails
The conductors of our two piece orchestra.
Against the Parrish blue sky
our lips were drawn
To our first real kiss…


I awoke, my warm bed
Caressing me.
My mind confused
As to place and time.
I stretched a good cat stretch
and smiled for two reasons.
Firstly as my grandpa used to say:
Dearie if you awake without dirt
upon your face, then it is a good day indeed…
Secondly, no matter what,
I love you.

Full Moon in Virgo

Ah when the moon is full!
My heart echoes a thousand beats.
the beat of all life courses through
my veins
waiting for any thing to rearrange and rend
virtuous.

Virgo is the mistress of this moon
so I choose to sweep the dust of you
that daily trails my
sorrowed steps
into the shadows
of the lighted night.

I'm glad you've resolved to let it go! People who don't let go of doomed love / unrequited feelings for another are just setting themselves up for major catastrophe and blind themselves to the good that's out there for them. Truly. Time to be free of it!
