Hi, the shootings happened juns 2 miles from my home in Buckhead in Altanta ... Does anyone have any insight on that day, I think the moon was full in Aquarius, or was it almost a full moon??? Anyway ... ithappened wenesday of last week. Perhaps something in Mark Barton's name (lexigram) or in his birth chart, or the astrology of that day led him to freak out!!! What do you think?

Victoria, honey, I think he'd been freaked out for a long time. But surely there is something going on in these last decades of the millennium in America that is manifesting in these personalized massacres. It's a heartbreaking thing. And when it happens near to you, it really occupies your thoughts, doesn't it? I know it did for me when it happened in Colorado. I wish I had something helpful to say, or some clue to give. But here's a hug anyway.

What were the days of the crimes? I might be able to spot something obvious in the chart for the day, but you couldn't look at the transits that might affect him without knowing his birthdata.

That date happened to be a super highly-charged day in the heavens.

It was the last Lunar Eclipse of the century, and it was at four degrees (physical manifestation) in the anything-can-happen-and-it-usually-does Fixed Sign of Aquarius. The Full Moon in Aquarius was exact that morning at 6:25 am EDT.

It was a hugely active day for the Aquarius Moon. This is what happened that day, the most astrologically significant day of July 1999...

Pretty nasty, huh? These are the type of days when it's nice to take a "personal" day, ya know?! No doubt the shooter had some disturbing dreams before he woke and decided to pull the trigger repeatedly. The highly volatile Aquarian Moon got nothing but dirty looks and gestures from the planets and asteroids, and by the time she had shaken up everyone's morning, she got a wink from Pluto, as if he was saying, "Nice job, you cathartic thing!" Death and transformation, you see, are a big deal to Pluto, as he is the ruler of Scorpio, and the true Darth Vader of the Cosmos.

The Chiron station at 27 Scorpio, another Fixed Sign in a nasty Summer of Fixed Sign pain, was certainly no help either. Basically a station means that the planet is changing directions, and dwelling at the same degree, same minute. It is stationary as it appears from Earth. Chiron had been at 27 Scorpio 26 since that Monday 7/26 (when the Full Moon started to heat things up), and only left that exact position on Monday, 8/2. So Wednesday the 28th actually represents the midpoint of the station, the nastiest, absolutely most powerful time. In my book, Chiron went direct on Monday, once he moved to 27 Sc 27. Any ephemeris you read will say it was Wednesday, but trust me on this...Chiron was still retrograde on Th, F, Sat, and Sun. Use this rule for any retrograde planet, especially Mercury. No matter how much you want to believe that Mercury goes Direct tonight at 10:20 EDT, you will see, it doesn't really happen until Sunday night, 8/8. Just watch. And if you flip over to the thread called "significance of Chiron" in Star Chat from late March 1999, you can read the mythology of Chiron (technically, a comet), and you'll see how he was intimately involved in the events that transpired that day in Atlanta.

Every single one of the aspects that day except the Venus and Pluto ones, involved Fixed Signs. This is the signature of 1999, major Fixed sign stress, and it was involved in the Columbine tragedy, Kosovo, the suicide of Dana Plato, and just about any other sad events that you can list this year. I would be willing to bet that Barton has a presence of Fixed Signs in his chart. That means he'd be either a Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius, or have a number of planets, his ascendant, and/or house cusps in middle degrees of those Signs.

The squares from Jupiter and Mars, and the negative aspects with the asteroids, kind of makes me picture the Moon in the middle of an asteroid shower, and that Barton was getting archetypically hammered relentlessly in the hours leading up to the event. The asteroids involved all orbit betwen Mars and Jupiter, after all.

So, whatever his own makeup tells us, should we ever get it and analyze it...it was just a horrible day astrologically, especially when you're stressin'. As a suggestion, do be careful all next week, for the August 11th Solar Eclipse augurs similar Fixed Sign difficulty...to put it way mildly. Have a great vacation...please!

WOW! August 11 was the Jewish Community Cneter shootings! I think it would be nice if we could maybe get a poasting a month in advance of all the "bad days" so that those of us that wish to avoid danger could stay inside and meditate!!! HA!HA!HA!
