No, no, no, no, no.....We don't do aggression now do we?

Mars is all about negative and positive aggression. It's sign indicates how we loose the head,......the way in which we all throw our toys out of the cot. Watch out for those low flying rattles - they always seem to catch you on the back of the neck.

Aggression, pizzazz, sparkle, energy, lively... you know you're not aggressive - you're lively and sparkly, bouncy even.

Mars has lighter energy than Pluto. Aggression is oomph that give you drive, makes you achieve what you need to get out of life.

Aggression has such negative connotations, Mars is more rounded than that - if we use it and steer it, it's a true life force that gives us the ability to complete stuff.

Mars is the spring in your step when you are in love. The sparkle in your eye, the cheekiness of your spirit when you use it to express your up beat feelings.

Ok so when you let that mars energy run away with you, and you are cross and cranky it the energy that says "No - I'm not having that". Mars and no have a lot in common...........

On the subject of the word "no", it a positive word depicting your expression of who you are. No I wont be a door mat. The "No" word is how you project how you feel, think, want etc. Used petulantly - it's negative but on the whole it's a real plus. Think about it....

So aggression gets things done. IF displayed in an over the top way - it will make you hide under your bed and cry.

Don't be scared - it's all hot air really.

Aires is ruled by Mars, and historically so is Scorpio. It's a fiery sign, with a life force to go with it.

Have you ever met an Aires who sits on there bums and lets the world pass them by??? I haven't. They are always into SO much. Doing, and organising, rushing about at 100 miles an hour. They can also loose there temper and throw rattles at times - usually when they have either being over doing the running about or when thy have not been doing enough running about.

Mars is all about the active part of lovemaking, the games you play and way you flutter your eye lashes.

Now for the History................:

Bless this wee mite, he was born from revenge, never stood a chance and frankly had a bad name from the word go.

Here's how the Greek story goes.............

Hera, wife of Zeus got ticked off with him when he gave birth to Athen, darn those god has weird habits . She was so PO that she promptly gave birth to Ares (Mars) without any intervention from Zeus, born from anger, spite and rage. Charming

The poor wee scone was destined to be a little horror with an intro like that. Ares - aka Mars had three close chums, Deimos aka fear, Phobus aka fright and Eris aka strife. These sound a real motley crew destined to be the baddies in movies like bat man, superman etc. So does bad ever triumph - you must be joking - what type of self respecting superhero would stand for that???

What not been said - is that Mars was a big baby - all fur coat and no knickers as they would say in Scotland. For all his aggression and spite every time Athene threw stones at him (darn she was a lovely girl), he'd cry by the bucket load. Basically a great big cry baby.

He wasn't very bright either, even a coupe of mortals managed to trap him in a bottle at one point. Hehehehe There's a thing - bottled angre?? Hum ho jolly little brew. When bottled he turns to dispare, helplessness and sadness, depression.

Bascailly this wee mite wasbn't the luckies guy on the planet - gauranteed to be foiled at ever turn he was lousy with women. He managed at one point to seduce Aphroditie - lucky guy (sept she was a bit easy by all accounts - so noth that great an achievement). Anyway, back at the camp, her husband shows up and Ares gets traped in a net by him. Everyone had been invited to watch and had a good laugh at Ares expense.

So, that's the Greek story, where Mars is an angry fool. The Romans had more respect there god Mars was the god of War, but also of fertility. His chums in this story are honour and virtue.

So we have a bit of a polar situation....angry and spiteful V's life giving and nobility. Thus Mars has a double edge sword. Aggression used positively asserts your will and

Mars in the houses, 12th though 1st for a change ............

No Dave...I've got Hephaestus as her husband of the time???? I couldn't be bothered tryingto spell that. I still think phonetically - words I can't pronounce are just beyond me.

I am planning on taking my time with this - so don't expect anything too quick

12th housers - The winners take it all, but check your pockets bottles

As with all other 12th house planets, Mars here is interesting. Mars is can either be in-your-face or hidden under the bed.

12th housers may be more passive than other Mars placement, apathy, passive voyeurism on life or a lack of connection with the real world. A generally feeling of being out of sorts. You make a great martyr.

Are you a sulker - hide confrontation by retracting into your shell? Do you pass on your rage to someone else to vent? Or just not actually notice that you are annoyed about something? 12th housers might choose not to show their anger.

You may get off on watching other people erupt or enjoy watching violence?? Does wrestling count hehehehehe. Do you suffer from erratic behaviour? Alternatively do you express the anger of people around you??????

You may use your energy to assist someone else. Or you may be a real winner - sportsmen with Mars in their 12th are know to be real winners. 12th housers mars can achieve much of what they set out to do. Especially if it is for the greater good.

12th housers have the ability to put aside their Mars to help other people. It's the only house that will use their Mars energy in this way. This placement will also go to extreme lengths to avoid, escape or self-destruct.

Mars is all about going out and getting what the house wants, in the 12th is service. There may be a restless feeling of never achieving enough, never actually feeling like you have completed what you want too. I have Mars in Virgo in my 12th oh my god - will I ever manage to feel like I've done anything?? Be still my beating heart" .........This faerie will self destruct in 5,4,3...heheheh

Perhaps you don't realise that you were angry in the first place, perhaps you wake up screaming from the depth of sleep. Find a release, Pottery is a good way - focuses your energy on one spot. Gestalt therapy - hit those pillows, earthing, all good for realising pent up aggression. Sports good as well.

Use your energy creatively to help others, it can be wonderfully healing.

Sexually - you like to play the coy quiet romantic come hither type . You home in on your partners turn on's and play them for all they are worth - a budding little sex kitten in the mist. You start love affair with timidity and then slowly bring them to boil. You're an awesome lover...even if I do say so myself . hehehehe MEOW

Tish Cappies boring? No way. Nicolas Cage, David Bowie, Jim Carrey, Elvis Presly... Stupendously talented, occasionally irritating, a little mad, but so interesting. I love them

Another really interesting and informative thread. Thankyou

I agree with Tanya on the Cappie subject. Just think of our sweet funny wise Darwin

Hi Lis,nice stuff about Mars. The other day, just out of curiousity I was looking at Hitler's chart (he is an Aries) and it struck me that his Asc. was Libra (usually means peace amd harmony). Also, I cannot spot something special in the charts of famous people. Maybe it's just me.

11th housers - the Monica of the Zodiac

Have you ever been to a party and someone has been very forceful at leading the party games. You'll play the game and you'll enjoy it or else?? I have hehehe...Mars in the 11th is a dichotomous instance. The 11th house of groups meets the planet of leadership.

11th housers will run a marathon race for their friends but they will explode if you don't go along with there desires. They are great in a team because they add the oomph to get stuff done.

You can imagine that Mars is in it's element here - it wants a fight and in a group is has the perfect opportunity to have a major one . Hehehehe Conflict arises form care, at least Mars instils the passion for the group to care about something to fight over it.

Being part of a group may instil 11th housers to take up a cause. Fight the battle. It can be an enormously creative way of using your energy to support a cause of just deserves.

Are you one of those control freaks who runs peoples lives for them? If you are then you might attract people who can't do their own thinking - co dependence...life is great! Alternatively it might be the other way round - hey might run your life. I love astrology !!!

As a lover - you love the passion the drive the energy...but hide under the bed when someone says they love you. Falling in love is a serious thing to you not to be confused with the bumping of uglies. Are you a mistress...what is the male equivalent of mistress?? - that's SO sexist!! That way you can have your jollies without any emotional attachment. Your great at technique, great at hitting the spot - but I wont ask you for love poems.

You have a bizarre way of finding lovers... do you really mail shot the locale??? Kind a scary that isn't it??? Not in your book. Actually you'll have more luck if you find a worthy cause to get involved in and the invitations will just come rolling in.

The 11th house Mars description is really spot on. A friend of mine has hers in Leo. She comes to my house with a bottle of wine, looks around.... and starts cleaning, moving bits of furniture, shoving pictures into my "relationship corner" ? as she calls it. Very loyal. A Glaswegian lassie so I wouldn't mess with her Hehe

10th housers - Take it to the top momma

Are you absolutely crazed about work. Does it thrill you to pieces?? Are you trying to climb your way up even if it does mean that someone gets the claws out? By thick or thin - you'll want to be at the top of your chosen ladder.

You may be an ideal leader if well aspect. You aim for the top and you might just get there.

Was your mummy a strong type teaching you to channel resources?? Was she in control and well balanced to was she power hungry and pushy??? You may resent her overbearing nature. Did you have to launch world war 3 to cut the apron strings. If guide or prison warden mummy dearest was important in the way you turned out.

I once read the chart of a friend form a book - and when I read part of his chart it said sexually ambitious.... I had visions of this very camp fellow swinging form the chandeliers. It actually said sexually ambiguous ...I just love being dyslexic...hehehehe!

Are you a babe that doesn't know it?? Do you go for toy boys or baby snatch or perhaps your going out with your mom or dad??

My and my girl-friend play this game when we are standing at cab ranks or bus stops. Husband or lover....we see a couple and have to tell if he's husband, lover or son...Occasionally we get caught doing it...to the woman in questions delight. We sometimes get ...lover not son called at us . Heheheh, that's what this placement may bring.

You're responsible in relationships. You like power and may marry for money, just be careful not to be too much fo a gold digger. Love lasts for a long, long time.

9th housers - Bible bashing aminal

Are you big on religion? Not just a passive god worshiper, do you really, really go for it?? If it's not religion that drives you passionately, perhaps it philosophy?

Tell me ....how do you see god, the happy clappy chappy or fire and brimstone variety? Odds are on it's the latter. Take to extreme this placement can justify all sorts of awful things so long as they are done in the name of god. If it's not god then they may be acting in someone else cause. Still a bit extreme.

Perhaps your relationship with God is more the truly, madly and deeply hacked off with him? Do you have long battles with the almighty?

9th housers might be fully affiliated jet setters or back packers. Trapsing off around the world. Or perhaps you like foreign men or women and love the company of tourists.

May be you're into education in a BIG WAY? Egg heads anon...do you get a kick out you academic prowess??

9th housers probably battle with authority figures. God, deans, teachers etc, etc.

You're a bit of an animal in bed....a tiger perhaps - RRRaaaarrrrrr You might not be the most romantic lover, giggle too much at the sentimental bits, but still very H-O-T!!!

Your all sparkles and flirtation and oodles and oodles of charm and charisma.

Hi Tink!!!

Good interpretation of 9th house Mars!!! It's true. Once I get older I want to travel all over the world, and I already have a thing for a foreigner and I'm all sparkles too!!! lol. But, I'm also dead set against most forms of organized religion, and I LOVE philosophy!!!! I think that God is a great guy, not all fire and brimstone, unlike *cough* some religions.
Good job Tink!!!

8th When you're hot you're H-O-T

You may be in your element when involved in shared financial resources. Or you may have had a real struggle with inheritance and battles over joint resources.

Death and the occult may be a tremendous passion with you. You might spend a huge amounts of your time researching and practising less conventional arts. You like the weird. Do you obsess about the government, former loves, strange hobbies?

You like the obscure, but you are a very worthy person, with your own sense of loyalty and values. Woe betwixt the person who messes with your head, it might not happen twice.

The house of Scorp has the possibility of expression like a fire hydrant, when you loose the rag you're liable to create a little storm all of your own. But I have to say most Scorps I know when expressing aggression in a quick release - and it's gone, it's not pleasant - but you know you've upset them and it's over and done with. The one you need to worry about is when they get quiet, very, very quiet. Then it's a case of being afraid........

As with Scorps, you're a loyal chum to have and will go well out your way to help a friend. Your also a bitter enemy - so don't go stepping on your toes unless it can be avoided. If you can see where people are coming form and hurt is cause accidentally rather than malice - you'll forgive every time. Any malicious activity will bring those claws out .

The key word for Mars in the 8th is passion. Scares some people off, but you wont let that deter you. You are a sex magnate. Shrinking violets beware, they are not for you.

Sexually you can be competitive and aggressive. You might be a little bit dominant and enjoy yielding power over your lovers. You have a huge array of talents in the bed room and certainly wont be boring. The other side of this particular coin is not taking responsibility for your own actions, I was lead into it etc. If your in the latter group be careful what you don't take ownership of, if you were willing you were willing no matter how much you are embarrassed by your own actions.
