Hi everybody there! First of all, thanks in advance to anybody who takes the time for reading my ?dieting novel?, but as you will see, I feel a little bit desperate (that?s not true, I feel A LOT desperate) and need some support and guidance, because I am about to quit, in the first place because I really get depressed when I think I am gaining weight and secondly, because I really want to believe that I can get rid off the ?food worry? for the rest of my life, and have not found enough final positive results in the threads and still more important, I do not know if anybody of the successful ones has eaten, at the end of the treatment, whatever they want without gaining weight again. I am also worried because I am not in this journey alone, so that I convinced my two daughters (20 and 17), and they are trying to do it also, and I got frightened to see that Thomas did not get the results he wanted to, even though he reduced many pounds (BTW, where is Teresa?). As you may see, I have been reading all the threads related to the Color Diet, and still have some questions, due to at this moment I am in the 27th day of the diet, which I am trying to complete for the second time (the first time I made 19 days and due to unexepected circumstances, I missed one day and began all over again, so if we count them both, I would be on the 46th day) and in spite of having lost 6 pounds in the first three days of the first treatment, in which I felt really sick during a week with heavy diahrrea and severe headaches (I think this last for the lack of caffeine), and stopped reducing, but even so not gaining weight, at this time I feel I am getting really fat (after reading the addendum Thomas posted, I have not weighed myself anymore, but I can notice it in the clothes. They fit tighter each day). So, please, please, please, advise me on what to eat, because I think that some of the food I am taking is not correct. So, following I will make a list of what I eat so that it is easier for you to advise me. I?d like to state that I live in Mexico City and that almost all the food I eat is cooked by myself or is eaten in its natural form. Honey (I do not eat sugar, but I eat lots of honey) Milk Natural Yoghurt (bought in the supermarket) Cooked Corn All kinds of cheese Mango Eggs water-melon Canola and Corn oil Sour cream Butter Oranges Carrots Red skinned apples (some are green inside) Strawberries Melon Cherrys Chicken (I eat this daily, cooked in serveral ways) Mamey Corn tortillas (I think this is part of the problem??) Banana Wheat tortillas (????) Betabel White bread (it is called ?bolillo? here and is Pasta (spaghetti for example) mades in the bakery??????) Potatoes (lots of) Red chili (before they are dry and become red, in their fresh form they are green???) Red onion (its color is almost purple????) Garlic Papaya Pineapple Rice (white, cooked in different forms) Pop corns Yellow and red peppers Red tomato Mustard I eat NO waffles, or hot cakes, or cookies, or pizzas, or coffee, or sugar. The flour I take is in the form of ?tortillas? or ?bolillos? (these are made with white flour, water and salt only. The bulb I got is of only 75 watts, so that I couldn?t get any of higher voltage in ?opaque red?, and I am taking my color baths at 5:15 in the morning. The glasses are plastic and I bought them in Wal Mart (the typical ones for parties), and the eye glasses I wear are yellow and pink. The only thing I am missing is the visualizations and I do not have too many cloth in brilliant colors, although I try to wear, at least the blouses, in the booster colors. I have been thinking that maybe I have a very strong mind programming on calories, so if anyone knows some affirmations that I could use, please let me know. Again, thanks a lot for your support and help. Love, light and success to all of you, Lamat My office e-mail is cvazquez@medmx.jnj.com (sometimes my personal e-mail is not available)

Lamat, honey.... Cheer up, I have good news!! SCRAP the diet!!! I LOVE Linda and I've never tried any of her "diets", but I'm sure there are some tidbits of info that we're not aware of in regards to her diet....and those few small tidbits might make the all the difference in the world for some people! Trust me in this...I follow a healthy life style plan and workout...I don't call it a "diet". I've counseled many people with their eating habits and workouts and have put them on programs...and they have all had awesome results...as have I!! FIRST of all....cut out all those darned CARBS!!!!!!!!! I don't mean ALL of them....just the bad ones!! Okay, now that I have that off my chest..... I can continue!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Eat at least six times a day...every 3-4 hours...it keeps your metabolism up. (When you don't eat, your body thinks you're starving it...so when you eat, it retains the food as fat for storage.) On the medical end of it...by eating every 3-4 hours, you are keeping your blood sugar levels stable. Your blood sugar is staying at an "even keel". If you wait longer than 5 hours to eat, your blood sugar levels drop in your bloodstream....and you may get that "tired" feeling. Then...when you eat, your blood sugar levels go sky high...that in turn kicks your pancreas into working, and it secretes insulin....the function of insulin is to bring down the levels of your blood sugar (Just like a diabetic). However...what everyone doesn't know is that insulin is what causes you to STORE fat!! So everytime you wait too long to eat, and your pancreas produces insulin to bring down your blood sugar, you are now beginning to store fat!! Believe me...it's true!! That's also why most diabetics are overweight. (I'm an ER nurse and I keep up with the journals. However, I don't really believe in traditional medicine to "cure" problems...I'm a HUGE believer in preventive medicine and alternative medicine. Along those lines follows a healthy eating style and a workout regime.) Okay...sorry to go off track! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2. Make sure you have protein in every meal. Especially the first meal of the day. Whatever you put in your mouth first is what starts your blood sugar levels going. Protein does NOT raise your blood sugar levels...carbohydrates do. So, always put protein in your mouth first, then the carbs. Always eat small meals, and drink alot of water...or a beverage that doesn't have calories. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------3. You can eat lots of carbs, just eat the right ones! Eat LOW glycemic carbs, not HIGH glycemic carbs. Go to a search engine and type in low glycemic carbohydrates...and you'll find the answers. Basically, high glycemic sugars(carbs) raise your blood sugar levels rapidly...and raise them through the roof! Then, insulin is produced, and you store fat. LOW glycemic sugars do NOT raise your blood sugar very much at all....if they do, it raises the levels very slowly, and your pancreas is not working overtime to secrete insulin...thus....you won't be storing fat! Some examples of HIGH glycemic carbs: instant oatmeal, white rice, potatoes, wheat bread, pasta, waffles, pancakes, rice cakes, cereals, carrots, candy, watermelon...to name a few! Some examples of LOW glycemic carbs: old-fashioned oatmeal, long grain brown rice, 100% whole wheat flour (bread), Special K cereal, Fiber One cereal, yams or sweet potatoes, apples, grapes.... The key is....the longer the sugar(carb) has been processed, the higher it's glycemic index becomes. Look at oatmeal...believe me, if you rigidly follow these simple rules, the pounds will drop off!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------4. Work out with weights every other day for no longer than 30-40 minutes. Don't worry about aerobics for now, just do weights. FYI...when you work out with weights (a resistance exercise) you build muscle. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn...because that's what muscle does! It needs calories as fuel...mainly the fat in your body. And, in turn, your metabolism will be higher..all the time...even when you sleep...due to the extra muscle that you have. When you do aerobics, you aren't building muscle, you're just temporarily elevating your metabolism. So...you'll only burn fat for a short time. Usually for a couple hours. But...to lose fat FASTER, do aerobics on the days that you don't work out with weights!! And ALWAYS work out on an empty stomach...always!! Then you'll be burning stored fat...it's a guarantee. If you workout after you've eaten, you'll be burning off the calories you just ate....not the fat accumulating on your hips!! It's a guarantee! Back to the weight workout....it's pretty simple, you'll only need 5-8-10-15 pound dumbells. Nothing else!! You can do it at home...no need to go to a gym.Buy Bill Phillips "Body for Life" book and read it!! Follow it!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are some great books out there that explain the glycemic index and why it works...."Protein power" by the Eades husband and wife...they're both MD's....but don't follow their diet plan...too much protein...and too strict to follow. I mean...you can definitely follow their program if you want, but it's kinda hard. It works, though. "The Good Calorie Diet" by Lipetz explains the glycemic index wonderfully and he lists alot of foods you can eat, but definitely don't follow his plan. You'll see what I mean if you read his book! Okay...I know this is alot of info, but it's true to my heart, and it WORKS!!! One hundred thousand percent...if you follow it! It's really easy! And I have two small children that eat "kid's food" all the time, and I know how tempting it is!! I've been following this lifestyle since my daughter was six months old...and she's five now. It works!! I hope you find this info interesting and hope to incorporate it into your lifestyle. It's simple...not much thought...no measuring, no calculating...just eat all the time, and eat small amounts of the RIGHT food. Work out every other day to keep your metabolism up!! Good luck.....lots of love and white light!! FreeSpirit

I think that is great info Freepirit, and stuff that i basically try and do with my diet... ( while being vegan i would like to add that protein can be nuts and grains and veggies and beans and lentils/pulses etc. - it does not have to be meat!! ) Also i would like to add that while weights are great, i find that even something like a brisk walk( or sometimes not so brisk - you can alternate brisk walks one day with not so brisk the next! ) three or four times a week is great for people not interested in weights at the moment. With weights you will see more results but they are not necessarily what someone who is in the middle of changing their whole diet is in the mood for doing. So i just wanted to add that... Swimming or any from of exercise and movement you like is great ! Great info!! Thanks, Fuchsia

Rainbow...I hope you find this info interesting. I could have written for HOURS on this topic...diet is the number one key to life! (Besides mental well being! ) You can work out all you want, but if you don't eat the right foods, you won't get optimum results. ****If you take insulin...and I hope you don't have to....read "Protein Power" just for the awesome information. It explains so easily why low glycemic carbs work. If you follow it, you don't have to take insulin for diabetes. Cholestoral levels drop, blood pressure lowers....everything starts functioning much, much better!! And you feel better! (There is a ton of info out there about this stuff...I've just named several "easy, understandable" reads for you!) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fucshia...you are 100% right!! Any type of exercise is awesome...the benefits to your body are infinite. I mentioned weights because it speeds up the weight loss...AND it promotes bone density...which means as you grow older, your bones will remain stronger, too. Aerobics don't have that added benefit. And women, especially, can use the added benefit of strong bones...since we are prone to osteoporosis! Lots of love and white light!!! FreeSpirit

fuchsia, that was great you threw in about the "meatless" protein~~and the walking..I was getting ready to do almost an identical post~thanks, Red meat,at least an abundance of it, is causing many illnesses, especially the bowel/colon related ones.Combine that with high stress, smoking etc, and you become a walking heart attack. I think a large part of what Free Spirit is referring to is simply going "natural" as opposed to processed and refined foods.Using multi-grains rather than white, bleached products etc.~~and great point on the bone density issue FS!~thanks

Actualy your symptons sound quite a bit like you need to reduce the light. It's recommended you switch to a orange lightbulb if you start to get heavy diahrrea, or sickeness. Then go back to the red bulb after you think you feel comfortable.

FreeSpirit: Thank you for replying to my help request and for taking the time to read all my stuff! I have just entered the forum until now cause I had some problems with my computer at home. I've just printed the info you wrote and will study it really carefully. I think you're right when you state that we are lacking some info that is vital to the success of this diet, and I feel really disappointed cause it would have been marvelous to forget about the food issue for the rest of my life! Imagine all that energy that many of us "plumpies" have focussed to diet and exercise, put to work for higher spiritual purposes.... Maybe, if the Avatar or Guru who gave this info to Linda is aware... in some way... that many people would like to try and success with this diet, he or she would public the missing info to reach the interested people... It sounds a little crazy, but in the "Mayan" calendar, today the energy is focussed towards fulfilling our dreams, and I feel like taking advantage of this enery. I appreciate your interest very much. Thanks again, FreeSpirit, for your help and enthusiasm! Love and light to you! Lamat

AriesJason: Thanks for your advice! (Yesterday I didn't read all the thread). Mine feeling so bad was just for the first week and later I was OK. Have you done this diet yourself? In spite of being disappointed with the results, I feel that this diet has arisen to my nose some hidden matters of my self esteem (I really get very depressed when I feel fat) so I am taking some steps to feel good, even if I am fat (which does not mean I will stop my efforts to reduce my weight) Also, I quit coffee and probably (I have not made my mind completely yet) I will not eat red meat again). FreeSpirit:
Thanks for the light you are sending to me. For sure it is helping me! To everybody who is reading this thread, please receive much love from my part and light to continue enlightening your journey! Lamat
