This is due to the expectation that being a dork is a cool and hip when in fact it is nothing more than a perpetuating social condition of overrating your personality and your talents and then failing to accept the fact that deep, deep down, you really are a dork.
So you are a dork denying that you are a dork but pretending to be a dork.

The cure? There is none. You will always be a dork. But the treatment is to stop dorkin’ around.

ok..Rainbow...a suggestion, perhaps your inner dork has been neglected for too long. Perhaps you need to reach deep down inside and search for the spirit of your inner dork. Clearly it's in desperate need of a big HUG? Feel at one with your inner dork...don't neglect the poor fellow...feel how desperately your inner dork wishes to comunicate to the world...release the inner dork!!! You KNOW you want to!!!

ps i'm still not 100% sure that I know the difference between a dork and a nurd, but I do feel that the purpose of this thread is to express the dork, the nurd, the klutz the inner cring-worthynesses that go to make us human.

........I'm still not home.....went to Illinois yesterday, and Lansing early this morning...50 or so miles east of where I am now in Grand Rapids, at my son's house.......I got the day off work, but will be headed back up to my northern Michigan woods, later today......to hibernate...for awhle...*sigh*....

Anyway, Tink you are so cute, talking about my "inner dork." (tee hee ) But really, I'm still gonna be in denial, if that's what it takes.....*sigh*...

Actually, what I'm trying to do...is work on my self esteem....cuz you see, for many years, I was always "putting myself down."....always feeling inadequate....always insecure...always never quite measuring up...*sigh*....so one day I decided to say to myself, "You are a good and wonderful person," over and over to myself to kinda let it sink in......(and I'm still not sure I'm convinced .....).......But anyway, I've got to keep telling myself that...if I let slip I WILL BE A DORK! *SIGH*...

Anyway, I think my definition of a dork, is a kind of slak jawed, dim witted person....you know...a "dah" person....(gosh, maybe that's what I am!!! )

Anyway, that's my take on on....
