Linda's beginnings

Hi! I was wondering how Linda became involved in astrology? I know that she was born in West Virginia but also lived in New York, CA and for the remainder of her life in Cripple Creek, CO. Did she have a "guru" that influenced her interest and what prompted her to live in the states she did as well as what prompted her to move on? (I do know why she went to Cripple Creek). I also had a question about her passing. Was her family with her when she died? When was she diagnosed with diabetes? Any information would be appreciated. Kstar

Hello KStar, Linda was staying at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel when one of her caps came loose on her teeth...she went to the dentist but refused to have novacaine and insisted upon having sodium penathol. The dentist told Linda that before he could administer this he had to take a blood panel. During this test they discovered she had diabetes. This was in the early 90's. Linda drank alot of water which is often a sign of diabetes. Linda passed on in hospital, her nurses were present. Linda had several gurus in her life time or Druids she would also call them. The last one she was writing about in the unfinished and unpublished 'Twelfth Nights Secrets' was Dorva. I hope this answers your questions. Kelly-Anne

Hello Kstar, I was Linda's Nurse for two years and was with her when she passed away. She passed very peacefully and without pain. I was very lucky to know and love her. Janine

Hi Kelly-Anne and welcome Janine, How comforting to know that Linda left our world in peace. What a blessing to have had the opportunity to be a part of "her world". I am puzzled though as to why none of her family were around - I don't want to "pry" were I have no business but it seemed to me that her children were one of the most important elements in her life. Does anyone keep in contact with her children currently?

Ooops, I posted some questions in "Linda's Ideas" that apparently could fit better in this topic. Well, here is another question (oh all these questions! ) I read that Linda Goodman was a contestant for the Miss America Pageant. Is this correct? LMB

Hello Kstar, In response to your questions, Yes, Linda's children were a very important part of her life, however Linda's passing from this planet was unexpected, by everyone. Janine tried to contact her eldest son but he was away on business, the other son was in Hawaii and her daughter lived many hours away. You are certainly keeping the team busy,we love it, keep it coming!! Warmest wishes, Kelly-Anne

Hi LMB, Very interesting question, yes I have heard this before as well, I asked Crystal, she said Linda did not discuss it with her. We cannot confirm nor deny it at this stage, but we will endeavour to make further enquiries. With love, Kelly-Anne

Kelly-Anne, I was reading your first post on this page regarding Linda Goodman's "gurus" and you said that she had many, and called them "Druids". I am kind of confused. She spoke of Druids in "Gooberz" as being very different from druids-with-a-lower-case-d and was adamant about distinguishing the two. Did she really call her "gurus" Druids-with-a-capital-d and if so, why? Thanks eversomuch, LMB

Another question... (are you guys dizzy from questions yet? ) In the pocket of "Linda Goodman's Sun Signs", it is written that she appeared frequently on television throughout the country in the 60's and 70's, specifically on the David Susskind show. I've tried to get a viewing of that tape(s) but as you can imagine, it's been difficult. Just to imagine seeing Linda Goodman on TV, in "person" was so thrilling and I know would thrill so many others. I have no idea if any of you would know, but is there a way to gain access to the tapes? LMB

Hello LMB, In response to your question seeing Linda on T.V. Linda was on with Larry King live in the 70's. I ve watched this tape many times with Linda and I think you will enjoy it to. Try looking at your local Libary in video area sometimes they can order if they don't have it. Good luck! Janine

Hi KSRAR, Linda's children were very important to her and I did try to contact all of them when she passed. I did reach Billy around 2am and he came as soon as he heard. Linda wasn't alone as I've said before, myself and another nurse {Nancy} were with her and she was loved very much by us both. Also to another question asked Linda did say something to me about being in the Miss Virginia pagent. Although I'm not sure where it went other than she was a hopefull. Linda was a very beautiful woman and not hard to beleive she wouldn't have won hands down. Janine

Janine, Thank you for your helpful answers to my questions. I will indeed look for the Larry King Live show. The way I heard about Linda Goodman being in the Miss America pageant was from an article in the late 60's, I think, from a woman journalist who commented that she was a former Miss America contestant. Thank you again for all of your help and I look forward to talking with you again. LMB

There is some discrepancies about Linda's birthday. I've read April 9th and elsewhere I've read April 19th. Could someone clarify? I think it was April 9th, but I'm not sure. thanks, LMB

Thanks to all. I was just confused b/c in a couple of magazine articles and/or newspaper obituaries, it said April 19th. But it stands corrected. I can't tell you how glad and grateful I feel to have such fortunate access to sources such as yourselves. And as friends, too! What a lucky bull I am! LMB

In response to shagunj's inquiry about changing body temples: you know, I never really understood this when Linda wrote about it in Love Signs and Star Signs, but when I started delving into Rosicrucianism, a lot of what Linda said became clearer and opened up the picture significantly. I'm convinced Linda was a Rosicrucian, or at least heavily into studying it. As for the Larry King Live stuff and Linda as a contestant in the Ms Virginia pageant, if anyone gets a hold of more info on these, please let me know too!

Janine: Indeed you were fortunate to have been Linda's nurse for two years. I am so glad you were there with her when she passed - and that it was peaceful. Crystal: I so wanted her birthday to be the 19, as I was certain she had a Pisces Moon. There seemed so much Picean about her - look at the pictures on the Gooberz jacket? I have a Pisces Moon (and Venus and Saturn) and I seemed to identify with that. And if not her Moon then I thought perhaps her Mercury was in Pisces. But I see no Pisces at all in the April 9, birthday~~~~~~~~so I guess I'm wrong. Yes, she could have won hands down in any beauty contest. She was not only beautiful, but brilliant. Peace, Rainbow~

Hi Rainbow~ Welcome! I think that you will find an enormous labor of love within this forum and I am glad that you found your way here Perhaps you would like to join in on the thread called, "Rectifying Linda's birth chart". We are exploring the different options there. Since Linda is the reason that we are all here, I am sure that you will find within these walls, a common essence of all that Linda stood for and continues to be for all who have sought her guidance and inspiration. love and light, Karen

Hi Rainbow! Thank you for coming, yes please stick around when you can! If you love even a photo of Linda, you made it to the right place! This site is like the Official Linda Fan Club, for real. So welcome, and peace! And yes, you may like the thread that Karen said...all about plugging in different times of the day on April 9, 1925 into Linda's chart to see where Linda's planets and aspects would fall. Like, at 6 am, she has Venus in Aries in the 12th, and just five minutes earlier, at 5:55 am, Linda would have Venus Rising! So, my friend, you are actually the missing link...pleeeeeease go there and post your opinions about it, you are a piece to the puzzle, the Rainbow we have needed here for weeks now...I beseech you, hang out, chill out, and visit Rectifying Linda's Birthchart in this very forum. And thank you for sharing, you'll soon see why you can be happy you did! And thx again Karen, nice 2 c u 2! Blessings, Carlo

Greetings Everyone, I'm new and just wanted to say how great you guy's all are!!! I wanted to respond to Galileo - I agree that Linda was heavily influenced by the Roscricucians and of course she did always recommend the works of Rudolph Steiner and Manly P. Hall, so there you go... Love, Magic & Peace Profound ***essence***

Hi Essence, and welcome. Glad you found your way here. It was Linda's mention of Manly P. Hall that first introduced me to his massive Secret Teachings of All Ages, which after many years I finally acquired in its original full-size version with color plates. Now all you Knowflakes who are curious about the ancient mysteries of which Linda so often spoke, there's an amazingly rich treasure-house to explore!

Dear Seamistress Thanks for your warm words. "That ancient society of the White Lodge some called Rosicrucians" (pg.285-Gooberz) are a very old, secret society. There have been many off-shoots, I believe that the most well known here in the States is AMORC - the Ancient, Mystical Order of the Rosy Cross. When Linda speaks of Shakespeare, Bacon & Newton being the same person - this is along Roscicrucian lines - as well as when she tells us of the Comte St.Germaine (definately a Master). On her Pilgrim's Progress book list is Marie Corelli who was a Rosicrucian and as I'm sure you know - Linda also says to read ANYTHING by or about Rudolph Steiner - a mighty Metaphysican, who founded Anthroposophy, which definately flowed from Rosicrucianism, as well as anything by or about Manly P. Hall - it all brings you back to the Universal Truths which Linda enlightened us with in her work, which are all revealed and taught through the Roscicrucians. Also, the Avatars (but I don't yet know about Dorva) who were in Linda's life (AG, Nahtan, etc) surely were of the Brotherhood... Look forward to chatting with you, too. I love your mythology stuff - I've always been fascinated by Sappho, so thank you for sharing... Love,Magic &Peace Profound ***essence***
