Wise Soul..........in a book called THE ULTIMATE FRONTIER, they speak of May 5, 2000, when all the planets are aligned in Taurus as a day whem cataclysms occcur...volcanoes, earthquakes, floods, etc........that date is also mentioned in a book called POLE SHIFT... TUF, does offer hope...after things have settled, a new golden age begins.... Love and peace, Rainbow~ ------------------

Hi, I'm new here and have some comments to make about crop circles which were mentioned earlier. Yes, it turned out that they were being made by people using common items, but still, what a great art form! Though I'm sure the farmers have other names for it. The mystery was fun while it lasted but ultimately it's better to know the truth. I attended a lecture given by Richard Andrews and Busty Taylor a while back (early 90's)and I confess I bought the book they were promoting, "The Crop Circle Enigma". It was worth getting for the great pictures and now it has cultural interest - a frozen slice of time about what people were thinking about a curious subject. To me the fact that they were being created by people with simple equipment - and at night no less - is as impressive as any of the theories put forth. Much like what stage magicians do. Knowing that it's a trick makes it no less magical. (Or not much.)

Hi Jubal, welcome to the site. Did you read all the entries about the crop circles above? It seems that not everyone agrees that the crop circles have been convincingly shown to be merely the work of human pranksters. Fascinating stuff, in any event. You wouldn't happen to be a fan of Stranger in a Strange Land, would you?

Jubal..... Really great to have you joining the discussion forum.....I'm sure you'll really enjoy it here, looking forward to hearing your points of view. I,for one, am not convinced that the circles were created by humans, they have fascinated me for soooo many years and I REALLY believed that some more intelligent life form was sending us messages that we couldn't understand. That's just my view, but I have to say, it kind of took the intrigue out of it when I heard that some people had admitted to making them, no matter how artistic it was.....which I hasten to add WAS pretty clever. I don't think we know for sure....do we????? Love and Laughter, Kelly-Anne

Hi Gregory. Yes I've read Stranger in a Strange Land once or three times. Looking back I see that I did miss some posts on the subject of crop circles and that others have different ideas. I just wanted to offer mine. And hello Kelly-Anne. Nice to be here and I'm already enjoying it. Regarding the crop circles, I haven't walked around in and examined any in person so there's some room left for doubt, though I have some definite opinions. They're way cool, whatever the cause.

I'm a huge fan of Heinlein's too, Jubal, and especially Stranger in a Strange Land -- what an amazingly prescient writer! I don't have any direct personal experience with crop circles, either, but I do know that the professional debunkers are usually out in equal force with the openly credulous whenever unexplained phnomena are concerned, and there are enough holes in the "just pranksters" explanations I've heard for me to keep an open mind on the subject. In any event I certainly agree with you that human imagination and inventiveness are awesome indeed -- and when we finally get around to understanding the real nature of consciousness, that may turn out to be what lies behind everything we experience, anyway!

Hey!Greg, Jubal, Knowflakes...... I would like to ask your opinion on another of those unsolved mysteries......Rosewell !!! Was it a weather balloon or did we really experience a visit from outer space? I have watched many documentaries about this subject and I'm totally bewildered......how come people that were there suddenly died!! what about the young man from the funeral parlour, told to bring coffins and when he got to the base he was ushered off rather quickly. What about the man that found the site????? Was he totally deluded.....or did he really see the futuristic metal and non-human bodies??? Does anyone have any thoughts on this subject.......I believe that something was definitely covered up.....I am not sure if it was an alien visit, but it could have been something top secret that the army was working on.......I don't know......what say you.??????? Waiting impatiently Love and Laughter, Kelly-Anne

Seamistress, The past summer I went to Akumal,Mexico and visited the Myan Ruins there. They indeed are very interesting.A mystery that is worth time searching the different therories. There are so many.Their belief in astrology was so interesting. They always buried their dead so their skulls faced the east, put food in the graves to tide them over in their journey.I did buy a book at the site, took many pictures and would love to visit again. The view from the site overlooked the ocean,it was breathtaking. ------------------

My time at the Myan ruins were exciting & yet mellow as you looked out at the ocean the same view they had, awesome scenery,a guide is with you and you must hike up to the area so wear hiking shoes. Will dig my litature, lore out this pm and relate more.Must get off puter and help friend hit with Okla.tornado. I live in the area that was ravaged on Mon. nite.Be back on later with things I learned. Y2sprite ------------------

Seamistress, Thanks for thread info on The Myans.I have not dug out the book purchased at site where we traveled to.Dont know as it has anything revealing to those who know of this lost civilization.I will tell you where we went.It was the ruins of Tulum,in the Yucatan Peninsula. It is situated south of Cozumel. It is well preserved due to being perched high on a cliff and surrounded by a wall.Known as a religious as well as a trade center reached by the ocean and still visibal trails in the jungle. One of the tallest Maya structures is there, the pyramid of Nohoch Mul,rises 138ft.I was so impressed by the thought of moving those huge stones to this cliff..that I have that part forever etched in my mind.It is an exhausting ordeal to hike to the site,to also drag a stone unthinkable! The altars are still intact where they offered sacrifices to the Rain God and others. On west were the Uxmal Ruins. They are easier to reach from the jungle area.I will return next year to see Chichen Itza, these ruins have pyramids inside pyramids and there have been steam baths uncovered as well as ball courts. There is a pyramid there thought to represent the Mayan Calender.I think it has 4 staircases with 91 steps each, the platform at the top included equals 365 days of the solar year.Inside this pyramid is an inlaid jade throne in the shape of a jaguar. This was built between 250- 1000AD.Think of how advanced they truly were. Will see you at thread,The Mayans(if I can find this)! Y2sprite

Kelly-Ann, Thank-you I have enjoyed all I have found on this wonderful place dedicated to Linda. I did not wish to be impolite as a newcomer to a new site with many questions at specific threads,so have posted some ?? of my own.If any of you can answer please do so.I posted a topic in hopes that I would recieve answers quickly.Scorpios are not patient people you know!Especially if we thirst knowledge.I keep remembering little truths Linda threw to us at times between the lines so to speak. Is there an unsolved mystery in her passing?I am thinking of dates the millinium, the Mayan calender, the end of it 12/12 I believe. Thank-you for the warm thoughts to myself and other Okla.residents, for our losses in the tornado.I assist a local vet. in surgery so it has been quite a trauma to endure. Will not elaborate with the negatives.Strong-wills here will survive as you know.
