For everyone on the red color diet or anyone interested in simply eating healthier, I've begun this thread (thanks to the knowflakes on this color diet who suggested the idea and supported it so that we can all post red spectrum, no white flour or sugar recipes. I've posted a salad suggestion on the rainbow diet 2 thread and I'll begin with another idea.

Sweet n Sour Chicken

ingredients:

1 cup mixture of corn syrup or honey (I like only 1/4 cup honey and 3/4 cup corn syrup)

1/2 cup pineapple juice with bits of pineapple (I use canned pineapple with no sugar)

1/2 finely chopped red pepper

1/4 cup red wine vinegar (I like vinegar so this much may be too tart for others)

2 cups white rice (instant rice is easy, and you should make as much as you want; this is only a guideline)

9 or so cut up chicken tenderloins

You favorite spices, I like a dash of nutmeg and cinnamon

Mix the pepper, sweet mix, vinegar, pineapple and spices in a large bowl.

Use enough of this mixture to marinate the chicken for a few hours.

Preheat the oven for broiling the chicken.

Place the chicken in a casserole dish and pour the rest of the marinade (not the whole mixture just what was marinating the chicken)

Cover with foil

Broil the chicken for a half hour.

Warm up enough of the leftover mix (for topping the chicken and rice) for about 45 seconds in the microwave.

make the instant rice, place your broiled chicken on top and pour some warm sauce over it. Whaala

I hope you guys like the recipe. Feel free to post your own recipes, because I LOve food, and I'd LOve to read your ideas.

Hi Guys and Gals.
Susan here..
Thank you for your recipe Molica.
Sounds Delicious!
I was just interested in any feedback of anyone who has been or is on the 45 day red/yellow colour diet as laid out in Linda's Star Sign Book. I am in the process of getting all of the equipment together. I am having trouble finding red crystal drinking glasses for the solarized water. (Linda did mention that they may have to be ordered in) I have only been able to find a 25 watt red light bulb, so I am still searching for a 75 or 100 watt. When I do start the 45 day colour diet I will get back to you all on it and tell you how I am going.
'See You All'
Susan Goodair

p.s.Thank you Laura Mc and Essence for your warm welcome

Welcome Susan from down under!

I could tell when you wrote about how you were "going" that you must be an Aussie I spent 4 months in '93 when I was studying abroad for University credits. I went U of Wollongong. Ever been? I met my wonderful cousins there. One became my very best friend. He's getting married this November, but it looks like I won't be going

About the color diet: I use red, plastic party tumblers I found in a party wharehouse. You might get lucky that way if you try. They work just fine. The bulbs I had to order through a place in the states called Superior Electric. The first time I ordered them, but now they stock a few in their downtown store and wharehouse. I think the site will offer them soon, so no worries mate.

GOOd Luck and let us know how things are going.

Hi Susan,

You will be able to purchase 100 watt, red opaque light bulbs from the Linda Goodman Store very shortly. They are currently on back order, but I will alert everyone once they are here.

Hello color dieters..

After reading Linda's addendum (Color diet thread 1) about white flour and sugar, you'll notice that stressing (like I do) over foods with these ingredients is not going to help. Using naturally white flour will not harm the process, so eat to your hearts content (isn't it really your stomach that's content

I'm still avoiding bleached sugar and flour, but the possibilities are endless for those of you who love to cook, and for Theresa who is OH-so-strict about her color foods I have soooo many recipes for sweet goodies that can be made with natural white flour. How does a cheese danish roll sound???

Feedback please

LOve, LIght, and all that is right,

Hi Molica
I am not so much a 'sweets' eater (more of a starchy elf, mySelf) but a Cheese Danish sounds divine! I would love that recipe and any others you feel like sharing here. Although, at the moment, I can hardly eat anything solid as my recent dental work has put my teeth on strike. The pain I am experiencing has made my mood extra negative and I just hope that it won't affect my color journey too much.

Dear Teresa,
Sending you healing energy for your poor teeth.

I,too, am interested in any recipes of the red variety without white sugar and flour and that are vegetarian. When I last tried the diet (but didn't complete it) I enjoyed the quick and simple egg omlet with red, yellow and orange peppers. Also had taco chips (yellow with corn...is this OK??) with cheese and salsa. Had lots of berry yogurt. Can't remember too much else. My diet was VERY limited. the nachos satisfied my need to "sink my teeth into something" of substance, and the need for crunch.

Best of luck to my RED friends!!

Big warm wishes to Molica and Kate. I live in a Queensland in a place called the 'Bay'. (It's real name is Deception Bay, but for obvious reasons I like to say The Bay.) It is beautiful here near the beach. I find it absolutely Magic to be able to speak to you All from All over the world (remember Love is ALL)

WELCOME Annie! I feel so weird saying that, because I'm a newbie too.

Hi Susan, Theresa, Laura, and everyone else!

Annie:

How did the diet work for you? I tried to stay away from tortillas, because I couldn't find ones that were fried in suitable oil. I did, however use soft corn tortillas to make quesadillas with red pepper, cheese, butter, and red onion (topped with taco sauce because salsa has too many green peppers and tons of sour cream )

I've been pretty strict about my colors. I stay away from flour and sugar, and I only eat chicken or fish normally, but obviously now, no fish. So, when people ask me if its a restricted diet. I say yes. It's not easy, but we're all going to do it, and we do need support. My way of doing this is by providing some ideas for eating ideally for the color diet.

By the way, I usually refer to it as the color diet, so that the lexigram shines straight through to your Higher S-elf: LET COLOR DO IT! If we would stop being so anxious about the journey and allow our HS-elves to take over, we would succeed WE WILL SUCCEED!!!

I'll post that recipe next time, guys. This one's a little long.

LOve,
MOlIca

Any suggestion for a busy working mom on the go? I start the diet and somehow end up eating something fast loaded with either white flour or sugar? My Aries husband loves junkfood and he's a real carnivore. Being a Cancer I retain water alot.

Any tips?

Many Thanks,

Laureli

Hi Annie
Thank you for that healing energy! I ended up having to go back to the dentist so that he could stop the nerve pain by injecting steroids into my gums but it did help alittle. Now I can chew on the left side of my mouth.

I recall Thomas saying that he found Doritos to be okay for the diet. About the salsa...do you make it yourself? I have avoided it because of the green peppers inside.

Red Power!

Greetings Teresa!!

And greetings to you too Molica!!
Sadly. i did not complete my 45 days as I went away with a group of people for a weekend and blew it. I was on it about 28 or so days and felt and looked thinner. It was such a challenge and commitment I found sticking to it very empowering. i was thrilled to be off white sugar and flour!! That in and of itself is a GRAND victory!

I am thinking about going back on it as I really NEED to, but lack the motivation at this time. Hope to join the others soon.
My diet was extremely limited but I managed. I think one could eat quite well if one put more time into plannig meals. Be sure to chjeck out the other threads about this diet for lots more info.

Sending RED energy to you all,
Annie

HellO All!

I'm curious to see how everyone's doing. I have been doing well on the color diet so far. I should tell you (and in diet thread 3) that I started eating wheat again, but as little as possible. I had pizza, and I think because I hadn't had it in about a month it was the best I ever tasted. I 'm still dropping the weight. I'm not even sure if the flour was bleached or not, but it doesn't matter. The results have been the same. I'm hoping that my size 8 dresses from years back will fit if I try them. I think they will

Tell me how you're all doing when you can! Gotta go...got a visualization to do

Hi Laureli!

You should definitely check out the other threads on the color diet if you haven't already.

My advice to you would simply be to not stress over the food if it contains white sugar or flour.
The thing that I notice slows my progress is eating the wrong color, and this can be tricky like french fries fried in the wrong oil, corn chips or blended juices that look like the right color, but contain blue/green color.
Stress itself can harm the process worse than the white flour or sugar, so don't weigh yourself, TRUST YOUR S-ELF, and you will succeed. If you have any questions, or if anyone else does be sure to post. We can all benefit from everyone's experience and from the puzzles that get solved in these forums

LOve,
MOlIca

Hi Teresa,

Sorry to be so late in answering your salsa question. Just found it. I was careful to eat a salsa without peppers or when they were there I ate around them. I sure enjoyed the luxury of sour cream!!! MMMMMMMMMM.

I never thought about the oil that
tortillas or taco chips might have been cooked in!! whew!! I didn't go beyond the actual color. but I did have Faith. I was not anxious, except for a two day period with no sun only rain (but read thats OK). I KNEW it would work.

I think I will just have to try it again.

Chili would be yummy wouldn't it with fall amost here??

Hi Annie!
Yes, chili would be nice now that the air is getting a bit nippy at night. Too bad I never understood what Linda meant by it being okay on the plumpies list...it looks so BROWN to me! Maybe Molica has a wonderful chili recipe to share with us?? How 'bout it Chef Molica?
I am still waiting for your yummy Cheese Danish recipe, myself
Annie, you sound like you are almost ready to begin your final journey, and I am sure that when you do it will be very successful!

My teeth are still in pain, but I am keeping positive

I don't think this recipe will do wonders for your teeth Theresa , but maybe my color-diet-thread-inspired thoughts on a future recipe for red/gold chile will be better. I can taste it now.....

Cheese Danish

ingredients:1pkg dry yeast,1/4 cup warm water, 1 large egg,1/4 cup milk, 1-2tbls sugar (small amount),1/2 tsp vanilla, 1 2/3 cup flour, 3/4 tsp salt, 1 cup butter chilled and cut in small pieces.
cheese filling: 8 oz cream cheese soft, 2 tbsp sugar or honey, 1 tbsp flour, 1 large egg beaten, pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg (optional Theresa
glaze: 1 large egg, 1 tbsp milk

large bowl- dissolve yeast in water about 10 minutes.

stir egg, milk, sugar, vanilla, and 1/3 cup of flour into yeast mix. cover with a damp cloth. let rise in warm place until doubled about 90 minutes.

another bowl mix remaining flour, salt and cut butter in with a knife. fold yeast mix into flour mix until crumbly dough forms.

roll dough with a rolling pin into a square. fold it three times and roll again. repeat 3 times then wrap in plastic wrap to chill for 2 hours at least.

blend filling ingredients.

grease 2 baking sheets. divide dough in half and roll each into a 12by 9 rectangle. trim edges and place on sheets.

spread filling down the center lengthwise of the rectangle, cut the dough on each side of the filling to loosely cover filling.

preheat oven 450F and brush with glaze.

place danish in oven and reduce heat to 400. bake until golden, about 15 minutes. transfer to wire rack to cool.

I have a slice or two for dessert practically every day. I make some twice a month, freeze them, and bring some to work for snack. You won't be hungry!

Enjoy!

hello everyone!

I've just arrived here looking for advice about the red colour diet. I am confused about white flour. in my copy of star signs Linda has piza, spagetti and biscuits on the red list, and i thourght they all had white flour in them?
Me and my mum both plan to start the diet on wednesday if I can get a red bulb, if not i plan to paint an ordinary one, red! I hope this works. as for the red glasses we solved that problem by getting red glass bottles (from woolworths), nice and easy to keep the rain out of too!

Teresa, about your teeth, have you tried accupressure? the pressure point between your thumb and first finger is were you press for teeth, just princh it between the thumb and finger of your other hand, swop hands regularly. this works for me in about 10mins. it took longer the first time i did it but the more i use it the quicker it works!

well I'am off to look for more recipes, i'll talk to you again soon
love Debbie

Hi Debbi:

Welcome to the Linda Goodman boards. You will find some very interesting and wonderful people here. I also want to welcome you to the color diet process.

As you know, we are on the Rainbow Diet 3 thread. There are two older ones (Rainbow Diets 1 & 2)that I'd suggest that you read through. It's a lot to read, but most of your questions should be answered by reading those threads. We've discussed the white sugar/white flour thing ad nauseum. I also posted an addendum Linda wrote on the color diet on the first Rainbow Diet thread.

Best of luck and red power!

Thomas

Hi Annie
Always nice to hear from you. I am glad to send Red energy your way...and to all those on this red journey. I was struggling with 'expectations' on this journey and, as I posted to Jewel, was purposely not being shown what I wanted to 'see' so now I am refocusing my 'thoughts' (mind/matter) and feel I will soon be rewarded. I will not be stepping on a scale any time soon. During my struggle I decided to do just that...step on the scale. Boy, was I taught a big lesson. I didn't like the numbers I saw, so I stepped on it again...and the numbers went UP. Then again...and they went up Higher! I got the message that time

Red Power!

Hi everyone
Just thought I'd pop in. I am working on that chile recipe. I am wondering whether I should re-start the color diet. I finished 54 days, but I felt kinda yucky from overloading on the flour. I missed it so much during the first month when I didn't touch sugar or flour, but then I gave into the pizza staring at me. I think I would've have done fine if I had eaten flour sparingly, but I didn't. I ate it morning noon and night. I still lost weight the first week after I began eating it, but then I just stopped. It was coming close to the 54 days anyway, and I decided to take a break. I haven't gained any of the weight back, and I am not going to gain it back. But I would like to start it again while I am slimmer, and not wait until/if the weight comes back.

RED Beams to all of you

Hello folks
Well things are on hold here. Im waiting for that Red light bulb. THANKS TO KATE, I've written to you with the money order, I never heard of such a thing before! Anyway in the mean time we're trying out a few recipies.
here's what we had last night.

Lentil Crumble
2 carrots, a handful of tinned chickpeas, 4oz of orange lentils, a 7oz can of chopped tomatoes, a big spoonful of tomatoe puree, a half pint of boiling water(with vegy stock in) a pinch of ground corriander(seeds), all spice and chilli (i'm sure spices are OK they are mostly sun and mars ruled) and salt.

Fry the onions a little then add chopped carrot lentils, tomatoes puree stock spices and salt and bring to boil then cover pan and simmer for 30mins.
put in oven dish and top with the following
Mix 2oz porridge oats, 1oz butter and 2oz fine semolina(this is made for unbleached flour).
Bake this for 25-30 mins.
tasted GREAT!
enjoy love Debbie

LOve

Bumping this thread for someone who asked about Linda Goodman's color diet. I have no experience with it but knew others had discussed it.
