Love isn't all you need?!?!

Are you sitting down Knowflakes? Get a load of this.. As I was getting ready for work this morning, the TV was on. I'm not even sure what show this was (the one I was watching went off when I was in the shower). But, they were doing a piece on a dating service. They were going on about the dumbest stuff I have ever heard. For example, if one partner is more attractive than another, it won't be a good relationship. If one person is more educated than another, it won't be a good relationship. If they feel different about money, and one makes more than the other, it won't be a good relationship. Stuff like that. At the end of the piece they had short little blurbs by two people who I am assuming were people who worked there. The man said (not word for word): Some people believe that there is only one person out there for them, a Mr or Ms Right, a soulmate. That is not true. There are many people out there for everyone. You can love anyone. Then the woman said: 'All you need is love' is not a true statement, you need so much more than that (then went on to list some virtues). Love DOES NOT conquer all. To say that it's all you need and that it conquers all gives way too much power to this "idea". I was flabbergasted. For people to sneer at love like it was just something for poets, something that smart people of the 21st century should not have to bother with! And, these are people in the "love" business! It seems strange to me that they would be so cold hearted. Anyone want to help me track these people down and slap them upside the head with copies of Love Signs and Star Signs and, what the heck, let's use Gooberz, too. Just kidding about that, I'm not really a violent person (and Love Signs and Gooberz could give a person a concussion )

Minxsmom, Obviously, those people must be very unhappy. LOve really is all you need. And when everyone on Earth REALIZES this, then there will be no more tears. "And gOd shaLL wIpe away aLL tears frOm theIr eyes and there shaLL be nO mOre tears." So, tonight, before I drift off to sleep, I will pray for gOd to send LOve and LIght to all the sad people. Funny- ha ha Yes, I have the hard copy of Gooberz and it might give them a concussion....ha ha The reason those people are like that is because they are in a BUSINESS to SELL. (I hope no one minds that comment) Jovette

I have all but 2 of the Linda goodman books (that I am aware of) I just found out there was a couple she had written (i think), that I don't have.. but I do have a hard cover of all the astrology books.. lets see, which one would I throw first? Sun Signs ? cause it was her first million seller? Love signs, cause it was her first relationships book, or Star signs , cause it was her first one that covered other aspects of astrology? Venus trines at midnight? for her first shot at poetry? Gooberz? Cause it was her first book of reincarnation, or just because it is so awsomly big.. nahh I think I will hold off on that till the end, Relationships signs, cause it was her first one published after she had moved on? WAIT A MINUTE.. why would I want to injure any of my books? they are my friends, my buds, my closest link to my soul.. I think I'll just ignore them and hope it all goes away, or better yet just pray for them as well..

Hey Knowflakes- While a nice letter writing campaign--and a few hundred books launched in from all over the world might make them fear they are being haunted and get them to shut up----has anyone considered the possible tv show that could erupt if we arm these guys with Linda? The thought that someone might exploit Linda to exploit Love --all to make a buck--kind of jumped into my head--and gave me the icks. It is possible that there are people out there that we would all be better off if we did not educate them.--you know? Yeah yeah --I know --you all are joking --but I got the willy's at the thought--- Love, Searching

My little Minx is just purry. Thanks so much for asking She says Meow to you, too. Not to get too off the subject, but she was a riot the other night. She wanted me to wake up and play with her at some ungodly hour (it was like 4AM). She started out by standing on my chest, hoping up and down, and meowing at me. When I wouldn't get up, she kept taking her toys, putting them on top of me, backing up across the room, and taking these flying leaps onto me. Ten pounds doesn't seem like much until it comes flying at you at like 4,000 miles an hour . It's funny now, but I wanted to strangle her then.

minxsmom and the rest of the knowflakes - how terribly sad that love gets shoved aside in persuing a relationship in a "sterile" (spiral - "lies") fashion. the knowing/growing things are there for each us of to find our other half of the snowflake, how can we find our soulmate if we can't believe in love. hope-fully people will be-come wise and real-ize that the beatles were right, love is all you need! love more love and a healing dose of love to all the dating services. as a side minxsmom ... my furry children often wake me up at odd hours, just to say hi mom, love you. aren't they just wonderful? happiness and love xx t

LOL have to laugh about this one wasn't Linda that said that you can find so many things to laugh about like when she called the 24 hour (always open) hot line and got a recording saying call back another day thankfully she saw the humor and ridiculous mixed with the sad that was there and for those silly ones who do not know that LOVE is the true Universal power well what can you do ? cry for them? Hit them with Gooberz (hard covor) (that would prove they were right no Love there) just Laugh at there silly foolish prattle and pray they Learn to Earn Love Lia ------------------

moonglow: a fuzzy thanks to you. i've seen other new members say this in other areas of lindaland - how welcomed they felt and how they wished their "friends" would/could treat them this way. how great to have someone like linda to bring us all together. i hope, cancel that, ordain that i will be drifting around lindaland and the know-flakes for a long time. thanks and hugs to everyone who brought this website to fruition and bringing me here to join in. goofy as it sounds, when i found this site, i felt like i fell into a fluffy pile of feathers. thanks again, moonglow keep sharing and sending love! xx t

Lovely Lindaland is a truly wonderful thing, I think! Even though I don't consistantly post, I check daily, read what people have written, laugh, cry, and most importantly, feel a deep and profound connection to people all over the world, from all walks of life, whom I've never met. I cherish all of you, and thank each of you for sharing your lives. peace, maya

Isn't it a WONDER-FULL site? I've said it before and I'll say it again - I think that we are all drawn here to be together. To freely discuss ideas in a loving atmosphere. To say or ask anything and never worry that your question will be put down as stupid or foolish. We have one thing here that I don't find much anymore (on the net or face to face) and that is RESPECT. Respect for each other, respect for different ideas, respect for the earth, and respect for all the creatures (animal, vegetable, and mineral) that inhabit this earth. I post to other message boards from time to time, but I've given most of them up - there is so much petty bickering. And always trolls (for those that aren't familiar with the term - a troll is a person that posts to a message board simply to stir up trouble and get people upset). We don't get people like that here - it's alomst like we are protected from that (I know that sound kooky - but that's how I feel). And, it's not like we all agree on everything or that we don't discuss weighty subjects. Poke around the threads a bit - there are threads on religion (can you get more weighty or more touchy than that?) we all have very different opinions on religion, yet, there was no arguing, no cheap shots, no one saying "my way is the one true way" - have you ever seen anything like that before - that in itself is a miracle, and the beauty of this place. Heck, on other boards I've seen heated arguments over which soft drink is the best. And, of course, the biggest advantage (to me, anyway) we can discuss the deeper, more esoteric ideas of Linda's writings and not get the strange looks that my friends give me . Because that is the one thing we all agree on across the board - Linda is one AWESOME lady!

Am I going to win some "most verbose" award or what? Holy Cow! It's not my fault, I swear! Once I start to type, I can't stop! (Well, I am a Pisces - maybe it is my fault )
