Yivy,

Hi!
Haven't seen any lately.......when I was little I thought I did............

But.....last night, I was wondering, does everyone's keyboards and monitors make noise when turned off? Every evening it sounds as if someone is on the keyboard - but everything is turned off.......also the VCR makes the same creaking clicking noise, also turned off.....just wondering.........

Have a lovely day, Yivy!

Nepth...haunted computers and vcs's...that does sound strange. Sometimes I hear noises in the house that I know it not setteling.

When we moved here there was a tombstone leaning against a tree. I researched the name and found he had fought in the Civil War. Anyway I used the tombstone in a Halloween setting that year and the next. After that I had not planned on using it as I got to thinking it might not be a good thing to do.

The afternoon of that Halloween I kept getting thoughts bugging me to use the tombstone, but put them off. The thoughts got stronger and more annoying until I gave it and set the stone up. I got the most friendliest and warm feeling. From then on I use his tombstone every Halloween.

Sounds pretty quirky, but true. I guess that is about the only time he gets to play as obviously he must have decided not to reincarnate or whatever. What do you think?

That is so cool!

I got warm tingling goosebumps all over reading your story!
I love it!

Yes, he probably wanted you to use it, and that's why he communicated to you, by bugging you thinking about it! That's a really neat story.......it probably makes him feel special and part of the property still.........

Yes, about the keyboard, moniter and VCR, I wonder if it's settling, too......but why? I understand how the wood in houses settle, because of heat and cold, expanding and contracting,.......

Have a nice rest of the day,

Nephthys

I've had some interesting experiences with "ghosts," to say the least. Ever since I was really, really little. I always just figured they were people in different bodies. I still think that. Ghosts are just the astrals of people that have passed on. Your Higher S-elf can guide an astral just as S/He guides your physical body. Sometimes that's the only way a message can be made understood by someone who needs to hear it. Like, if I told somebody about immortality they would laugh, but if a "ghost" appeared to them, then it would be some kind of "divine intervention" and they'd be more likely to believe. That's kind of an extreme example. It's like Hamlet or Scrooge. You Know.
I don't think ghosts are necessarily good or bad. (Usually the astral just dies away like the physical body, after physical death. Then the soul moves on to their "heaven" to grow. The mind and the spirit? I guess they rest on their own respective planes.) Sometimes they linger on. Sometimes they're confused. Sometimes they're highly motivated by an Idea-L. Just like "real" people.
All the VERY scary or Very wonderful experiences that people have are definitely with beings that are not, never have been, and never will be, human.

My family always jokes about 3 ghosts....

One is the sock ghost, who steals the socks out of the washer and dryer, and no one can match them up again....

The second is the picture ghost, since I was a child, my mother said that anytime I have stayed at her home the pictures won't hang straight on the wall....In my home they don't either, but I have long since given up worrying about them. No matter how many times they are straightened they shift.

When my daughter was quit young, she would get up at night and raid the cupboards and make a mess on the counter...one day I decided I had had enough so I asked her how she was getting into all the stuff she was getting into. She was age 3....She told me she had two friends a boy and a girl, that would wake her up at night, because they were hungry...so together they would have a snack...it was quit interesting how she described them, she said they had wings, and that they sparkled all over. I told her it was okay to have her friends, but in the future, they had to clean up the mess when they were done eating....there wasn't a mess after that time, she continued to see her friends until she was about 5-6 years old.

I never discouraged her, because I believe that children can see many things that we cannot!

They are friendly harmless ghosts

Bird..it sounds like you might have had latent telekinetic abilities as a child..more do than you think, but loose it as they grow up.

Your daughter's friends sound more sprite than spirit...maybe druids. She sounds like a lot of fun to have around.

Bird Lady!

I LOVE the story of your daughter's spirit friends! They sound cute and beautiful! What a cute & awesome story! How old is she now? Does she remember them? What were their names? Oh, I just love hearing stories like this.

Love,

I remember when I was twelve and I was lying in bed, and I heard this little boy crying for his mother. The next morning, I told my family and they all laughed at me. No one beleives you when youre the youngest. There was also this one time that this really harsh voice told me to go to sleep. I was scared to death!
Its been four years since that happend, but about 3 months ago, my sis had a dream about a little boy in overalls crying for his mom.
Isnt that weird?

Neha,

I LOVE your story too!

It's so cool....its probably the ghost of a little boy who died there.....maybe he doesn't know he's dead.....maybe when he died he was crying for his mother.....and she never came.....Cool! (but sad)

I always believe people for stuff like this. I have had people discount my stories/events/beliefs my whole life, so I totally understand!

Yivy,

This is a great thread!

I finally watched the movie "The Sixth Sense" and was interested in all of your opinions as to what you thought.

Like the movie maybe some of them really don't know they are dead and supposed to move on or they have unfinished business. Maybe all it takes is for someone to listen.

Yivy,

I LOVED the 6th Sense!

I agree with what Lassair said.

I also think that ghosts are spirits that have not moved on to the "light" or "heaven" or "the spiritworld" or whatever you want to call it.

I just went on a hike and heard someone sneeze. I was on a trail in the forest on a mountain. Of course, no one was there. I felt the impression of someone small and young. I don't know if it was my imagination or not.

Yivy, I guess I should tell you that I'm really Jovette. I started posting under this different name a few days ago.

Neph...I thought you felt familiar.
Trying to spread yours-elf around a bit or is it a split personality.haha

Bird...druids are spirit creatures. Linda Goodman wrote about the druids that are in charge of words. I am sure they help with other things too.
Maybe someone else can explain them better.

I too loved the movie Sixth Sense. I thought it was a bit scary though...I dreaded any unexpected cold winds after that for a while Which reminds me recently my children were out back playing and they came in running and very excitedly told me they had seen an "angel boy" in the back yard. I asked them why do you say he was an angel boy and my daughter replied "Because he didn't talk to us , he only looked at us and turned around and started to walk away from us and we could see him disappear the further away he got. I said "what did you tell him?" My daughter said she told him Hi little boy. She went on to describe his clothing and what he looked like. I don't know if it was a ghost or what. The house we live in is only 10 years old. Any way now the kids are always looking for him to come back!

Hi Nephthys,
There was also another time that a ghost in our house talked to my aunt. He wanted to live in my uncle's body.
A while ago, we had people from our temple come over and drive the spirits out since some of them were trying to hurt us. Ever since, nothing weird has happened.
Sometimes I do wonder if it was just my imagination. But I really dont think it was when that ghost told me to go to sleep. It was such a loud, harsh voice. And it sounded as if the ghost was lying right next to me! I was so scared.

Have you ever been alone in your house or in a room and distintly hear someone call your name? Or woken in the middle of the night and was sure some one had called you...and you knew there was no one around (that you could see)

Daytime or night...both it has happened to me.

Neha&YIVY,
That is so scary Neha I would have most likely just screamed. Reading these posts made me remember about my oldest son(12) when he was between the ages of 5-10 He ALWAYS heard a woman's voice calling his name. This happened while he was asleep when he was outside playing or just watching T.V. and he always assumed it was me calling him this was quite bothersome at the time. He has not had this happen to him anymore maybe he just outgrew it? Another very weird story involved my oldest son and my daughter who were 9 and 3 at the time. My son swore there was a gnome in his room he said he was only a couple of inches tall had on a cap and typical gnome clothing and that he lived behind his bed in the wall. He was so afraid of it he would sometimes run out of his room crying. Of course I never saw anything so I would do my best to calm him down. Then about a week after my son saw him my daughter would wake up in the middle of the night saying she saw little green glowing lights flying around her room. Again I saw nothing for about a week she would wake up and then I finally asked her where these lights were specifically and she showed me the wall that connected her room to my son's room!

Star that is tooo strange. It almost makes me think of UFO's. Did you ever read Communion by Whitley Striber. If it doesn't scare you it will give you plenty to think about. Sounds like your kids will have very interesting lives.

YIVY, yes, all the time. Or I'll wake up because I feel someone sitting at the foot of my bed, but I can't see anyone there. I'm kind of used to it so I usually just ask to be left alone. I used to always hear babies crying when I'd take a shower. I still do sometimes. My mom hears them, too. She thinks they're the astrals of the babies/children that have been killed or abused or whatever. Really sad.

I used to have an "imaginary" friend when I was little, too. He was African. My mom just had to accept it because she knew I was talking to somebody or something. Like, I'd sit around with a puzzle or something and she could sense that someone was sitting across from me and helping me with the pieces. The really strange part is that before my parents moved into this house (just before I was born) the house belonged to an African/Carribean couple. They were Santeros, but more African oriented than Carribean ... Yoruba, I mean. Maybe he (my friend) was around because of the rituals that the previous owners had performed? Well, whatever the reason, he was very nice.
I think it's important to accept children's experiences with the "paranormal" (actually very normal). Unless, of course, you feel the child is in some kind of danger ... but mothers have a very good sense about those kinds of things, even if they aren't aware of it.

When we lived in England and I was four I kept telling my parents I had a friend named Matilda who had a funny dress and lots of beaded necklaces. They told me that was nice now run and play. That was until the neighbor told them about the old lady who used to live in the house who was best known in her "flapper days". Her name was Matilda.

One day I told them there was a strange man there who was not nice. My mom laughlingly told me to tell him to leave that she said so. I opened the door and told him to go. At that time our cukoo clock struck 13 times, I shut the door and said he is gone then went off to play.

Neha..that would have scared the do do out of me...and I have had some pretty strange happening in my life.
