Please come read the new piece about Linda, which can be reached from the Home page through the "Who Is Linda Goodman?" link. Our own Crystal contributed some of her experience with Linda, and others whom Linda also loved, her closest friends and neighbors here in Colorado, shared their stories. Webmaster Gregory and the site's content editor, Lori Pye, also helped bring this into being, as did some helpful people in Linda's childhood hometown in West Virginia. Here's a direct link: http://207.202.214.164/about/aboutlinda.asp Enjoy! Love & blessings, Maria

Very well done, Maria! I loved learning more about Linda's life. So tragic and sad about her lost daughter (and children's deaths!)!! I never knew! Must have been agonizing for her to not know what happened to her! Anyway, I think you did a wonderful job. Thanks a lot! Love, Lisa

Dear Maria, thanks for the article about Linda. I've always thought that she wasn't an ordinary human being, but a channel for some higher forces from above (or around us?) There is such a depth in her words and her ideas and teachings, how could she know all that? I like her house in Cripple Creek, but it's really strange that she kepr the lights on 24h. Was she scared of dark? And why? So many questions and not enough answers about dear Linda. Love and Peace

Thank you, friends, I'm so happy you like it and that you found something in it that interested or touched you. Lisa, I so agree with you that those heartaches related to her children must have been immense. I think it says a lot about Linda's spirit and courage that she didn't allow herself to freeze over and become bitter but instead continued on, seeking understanding of matters of the spirit and life with such great love. ... There was a person who died in New York who was identified as Sally, and officially the case was closed. But Linda didn't agree with those findings, based on her own knowledge, understandings and beliefs. And just for the record, Ed and Evelyn, who are both in police work (Evelyn also has a lot of experience in social work), say that Linda was extremely intelligent and always in firm control of her faculties. She clearly had her reasons for believing as she did, and she always held hope for Sally. But it still must have been agonizing not to know. Moonglow, Thank you sweetie. It's always so nice to have your warm glow in the room. I hope you're doing beautifully. Eleonora, You're so right... So many questions and not enough answers! This article had some particular parameters. I took a week to do all the research, interviewing, writing and fact-checking that would fit in that timeframe and did my best to convey a sense of Linda and to answer some of the usual questions people have when they come to the site. Taking the Colorado pictures and seeking out the others added a bit more time overall. Still, imagine what could be done in, say, 52 weeks! I'm imagining it, anyway. I have two or three different ideas about those lights, and my hunch is the answer is available. People in the mountains really do give each other lots of leeway for their own individual ways and don't necessarily question each other about them. That's kind of part of the ethos here. But I'm curious about the lights too. Aw, Donna, You're welcome! And thank you, dear heart. So nice to hear that from such a voracious reader as yourself. I wish we could borrow from each other's libraries. Between the two of us we could probably fill a house with books. Lis, Wow, gave ya goose pimples, huh? How neat! Evelyn said Linda spoke of Sam a lot, and always very warmly. It seems he was someone she could really rely on, but he left this life many years ahead of her. It's funny -- no matter how many times I've seen my work published, it's always exciting and a little scary when a new piece comes out. But it was cool writing this for you all, the folks I hang out with here in the ethereal world. Love, Maria [This message has been edited by WriteOn (edited 10-16-2000).]

Dear Dear Maria, Beautifully written!!!!! Just beautiful!!! Coming up on the 5th anniversary of her 'leaving' us---she would be/and probably IS so proud of this site. Even tho' I am surrounded at my computer by St. Francis is various forms---I have printed out the lovely picture of her window to hang in MY window as a sun catcher. I have always loved houses with turrets and window seats---and I was thrilled to see that I have similar decorating tastes-- although not budgets!!! Thankyou so much for all the love you put into your story on her. Dani

Dear Nephthys, Tish and Dani, Thank YOU so much for all you share here. You are so beautiful. Neph, can I borrow your bunny? Heehee. Linda also had an Indian Room in the Carr Avenue house, decorated with American Indian spiritual art, but that room has been redone. The crystal-type sun catchers that made rainbows for the kitties to chase are still on the window that Linda put them on. You can see them in that exterior shot of the brownstown house, in the second-floor window on the right. Huggles, Maria

Hi Maria! I wanted to tell you that the picture is capturing the light beautifully!!!!! In the fall/winter---the Sun swings south of us, and my summertime cool dining room takes on a whole new look with the change of seasons. I wind up re-organizing my plants in the area and this is the windows I hung Linda's picture of St. Francis. The sun starts shining thru it by 10:00am and shines on throughout the day---I just Love it---and each time I lOOk at it ---I smile. Thankyou Peace and Dani

Darwin, Did you know that your name speeled sideways, or spelled sideways even, is windar, as in wouldja open the windar so's I kin see the sticks I live in? Marrionberry!!! ROFL @ the Darwinist view. But truth be told, I love your description of me. I didn't get any green men making mischief when I was charting. I was in Sherlock Holmes mode -- taking the confirmed facts plus the clues, making deductions and being led with no preconceptions as to where it ought to lead. It clicked into place and added up. I'm listening to Shawn Colvin's marvelous A Few Small Repairs record... "This world's a blessing and a beast, every day." Another line I love: "You don't have to drag me down, I descend." Image in my head...I think it's Picasso...Woman Descending a Staircase? Something like that. There is grace in living the ups and the downs. Strawberry Girl

White Feather, You are most welcome. I'm so glad you like it. Some day when the family feels like taking a ride, you'll pile in the car and come visit funny little Cripple Creek, so don't kick yourself! You'll dirty your feathers that way.

Paloma, I love your screen name! Wish I'd thought of it first, lol. Gooberz really deepens the Linda you know, doesn't it? I love how she puts into words that pull she feels to "make life rhyme"...to write a happiness poem. And I want to make music with my pen...music to dance to. Thanks for listening and liking it, lovedove. I will do as you advise!

Dearest Maria; Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou THANKYOU! for this "glimpse into Linda's life". Even now when I remember that Linda is gone I feel a stab of pain in my heart. I feel such sadness, I can't explain it. * It is just that when I read Star Signs I felt an instant when something inside me just clicked and I KNEW ALL SHE WROTE was TRUTH. I also knew she was up in Colorado LIVING WHAT SHE WROTE. I imagined her high up in the mountains with her TWIN SOUL, both of them so happy and both of them immortals. I REALLY BELIEVED her words! I REALLY BELIEVED she would live forever! So when I found out about her death while browsing through Relationship Signs in the book store, I was just devastated. Even though I had never met this special lady, I was numb from grief until it really sank in that she was gone! But NOW I kNOW her death was not a failure. Now this "glimpse into her life" is helping me to deal with this great loss by now allowing me to focus on her life and the GOOD she brought to so many. Her life was a blessing and I am so grateful you shared such a special gift as this with us Maria. I AM deeply grateful. Wishing ALL the Knowflakes a Very Merry Christmas* Filled with Peace, LOVE & LIGHT.* SeaJ

Dear SeaJ, You are most welcome, friend. Thank YOU for sharing your heartfelt thoughts and feelings. I'm so glad that reading the profile helped to brighten the picture you've been pondering. Some way, somehow, as John Lennon sang, "We all shine on, like the moon and the stars and the sun," and certainly Linda shines on in the lives and thoughts of folks she knew and didn't know. I hope your Christmas was merry and bright. Light & love, Maria
