Hi everyone, i don't know if any of you heard but the lastest mission by NASA to map Mars topigraphically has found (on it's first day) a new face on Mars, they call it the happy crater. It's basically a huge crater when seen from above has a distinct smile to it. It's posted on Yahoo! news today. What do you think folks? Aurora

Air-aura, I hadn't heard about this. What did you think about the idea of reclassifying Pluto as a planet? I am glad that went down in flames! Blessings, Carlo

I think it's a Godsend that they didn't re-classify Pluto, the vibe created from doing such an action would've been horrible. It really wouldn't have been doing anyone favors, esp. to astrologers. As for that face on Mars, i think somewhere, somehow, someone is trying to tell us something given that so many people as is, dismiss the first face on Mars, and the possible pyramids sitting there. Any thoughts anyone? Aurora

went down in flames... I think that the Pluto thing went down in flames because of the element of fire which burned away all misinformation and misuse of astronomy and cleared the Air for free thinking that can only be characterized as Pluto in Sagittarius. Mars is in Scorpio, so if ever there was a time for a new discovery of something, until now, "hidden", it would be the sleuthing nature of this most powerful placement of Mars, in a sign that he used to co-rule. Haven't you noticed for a few months the Scorpio Suns you know have been pretty popular and have been so digging this vibe, and then Saturn goes into Taurus, opposite Mars, and now Scorpios have gotten up off the couch! They are not liking this, I have sure seen it. This Mars in Scorpio is longer than Mars spends in most signs, way longer historically, and so I think the egomaniac is smiling at us all. He was saying "Haha, yeah, you just wait til I oppose the grumpy old guy, cuz the chickens is comin home to roost, yo," So, as you can see, these astronomical "insights" are a sign of the times. The pyramid thing though...oh my...what else do you know about this, Aurora...? Blessings,
Carlo ------------------

Hi Carlo, The pyramid thing on Mars is delved into much more detail by Graham Hancock in his new book . As you probably already know Hancocks work already esp. wih respect to the pyramids in Egypt and the Mayan empire, he wrote The Fingerprints of the Gods, he has a hypothesis that somehow the first face on Mars, the face of the sphinx and the pyramids are all somehow connected to each other via an anciet pre-andiluvial civilization (atlantis? Lemuria? Both?...) He used to be a correspondant for the Economist in East Africa, and he is a VERY well respected researcher in Britain, him and Robert Bauval are presently doing some real ground breaking work. I highly recommed his books. Love and Light, Aurora

I just found this thread. I hadn't heard anything about reclassifying Pluto -- what would they have made it, a moon? Sounds absurd. As for Mars in Scorpio, Carlo you are right, even me, w/ moon and ascendant in scorp (sun in cap), i was digging this transit as well until saturn went into taurus, and I had to cut the crap, so to speak, authority figures in my life became stern and stony. As for the face on Mars, I agree w/ the idea that somehow the martian face and pyramids are related to egyptian pyramids and the sphinx. I heard some scientist out there had used computer imaging and found that the dimensions of the face on mars were exactly the same as that of the sphinx. Just my tuppence worth.

Stern and stony law professors? Who'd have believed it! I think the most we can do is adjust to Saturn's new sign, and know when aspects to him will occur and shake things up even more. This year is supposed to be kind of a pain, though. Just keep up your studies, even though the UCC is lame. You can always leave law and practice astrology, just get the degree and pass the bar first. One thing that this year is good for is study. Fascinating stuff about Mars, though! Thanks for contributing, please keep up the great posts! Blessings, Carlo

True, it doesn't have to, although I would love to hear from/about any Scorpio or Taurus that is having a ball at work right now, and just what those mitigating aspects might be. I would love to understand what those mitigating aspects are, it would help me great deal, and to put down my horse-beating stick. Do you have an example, Kathleen? Just wondering. Blessings, Carlo

Okay, I'll be the guinea pig Saturn is not only moving close to opposition with my Scorpio ascendant, it is also currently dead square my natal Saturn in Leo! You'd expect this to signify a tough time in the work arena, and in many ways it does -- putting together this site and all the functionality that goes with it is no cakewalk, and it's not uncommon for me to work 12, 14 or 18-hour days recently (struggling with software bugs and problems up the yahoo, to boot!) HOWEVER, since my natal Saturn is happily situated in my 9th house of philosophy, education, and publication -- and makes a beautiful perfect trine with my Aries moon in the 5th house of creativity -- this is a period of hard work that is REALLY successful and satisfying. Wouldn't have it any other way! Mitigating influences ...

Oh Greg, I am wicked jealous of you, man! Although, I can handle it and hand it to you because you have done such a...a...jellicle job on this site, no doubt. It's just that, as a Virgo, I always secretly envy people who get to do a job they love to do, even if they don't get paid commensurately, in their minds or those of others. For to toil and to labor in Love is a most prized virtue to any Virgo, usually a bit more than to most people. So, while I am way psyched for you, and I AM, and for all of us who are reaping a more enormous benefit collectively than I bet that even you had ever conceived, I also realize that I need to have that same hope that will allow me to follow my dream and to be an astrologer and to help and to heal like a good Virgo in the Aquarian Age army. And I guess what I am saying is that I am emulating you now. Just so you know. Along with everyone else. So thx for coming along on your chariot to save me from the clutches of despair again. I get so carried away sometimes, I swear. You're gonna be too narcotic if you don't slow down, bro. Any other Greg-lovers out there...? Well, let's here it for him already! Blessings from Greg are Nicest Of All!!!! Blessed Be Our Webmaster!!! All Hail to the Supreme Homeboy from da LG 'hood.. We can never thank you enough. And you go, Babe! Thanks for the great example, it was exactly what I was hoping for! Yet Again in Awe, Carlo [This message has been edited by Carlo (edited 04-02-99).]

Thank you Kathleen! That was really helpful! I guess I have to rethink it all, about Saturn, and study more about his rewards. Yes, keep on writing! Thanks SO much for all the hard work you guys do, I just can't say that enough! You're awesome!!! Bright Blessings, Carlo

Hi, Carlo! I've pretty much stayed out of this Saturn debate, but I think it's time to jump in. As you probably recall, I am one of his children, a Star Goat! I'll admit I've often felt as if I'm trying to scale Mt. Everest with cinder blocks tied to my feet--like everything good happens for me only after MUCH struggle and waiting. And that, I would have to attribute to old Kronos himself. There have been times when I've wanted to scream, "HURRY UP ALREADY!! Hasn't it been long enough?!" But as I've gotten older, I've learned to appreciate that although life for us Cappies can be slow and plodding, it tends to be a steady ascent. At some point, we leave the valley behind and make our way to the peak. (I think it makes great sense to equate us Cappies with the sure-footed mountain goat!) Even though I still become impatient about my progress in life, I can't count the number of times when I've thanked God and Goddess that I didn't get what I thought I wanted. Other times, I've realized that getting what I desired was well worth the wait and that it could have been disastrous if I'd had it any earlier, before I was ready. I would give Saturn credit for perfect, if challenging, timing. Yes, I still tend to want it ALL right now, but I've come to understand how Saturn ultimately protects me from too much too soon. I pay my dues, and the gold and diamonds I get in return are mine to keep forever. Above our bed, my husband and I have a lovely framed photograph of a perfect Egyptian white lotus. You probably know that lotuses are revered in many Eastern traditions. Not trained in those traditions, I never quite understood why, until the past year or so. I watched "What's Love Got to Do With It?", which shows Tina Turner's conversion to Bhuddism after some very rocky times in her life. The Bhuddist phrase she chants essentially means: Out of the deepest mud grows the most beautiful lotus. Aha! That gave me some understanding. But not until I read the inscription on the back of my husband's lotus photo did I really get it. Here's a portion: "It takes 17 years from seed to first bloom." That's a long time, no? Anything that takes forever must have Saturn involved, I say! Well, have you noticed that the number 17 equals 8, which is--you got it--dear Saturn's number! Just some Cappy musings for you! KJS P.S. I'm still lovin' your linguistic talents! [This message has been edited by KJS (edited 04-03-99).]

Hey Carlo, you better slow down ... one thing I DON'T handle well is a swelled head! Seriously, though, I'm SO glad that you and others are finding this site worthwhile, and that so many beautiful spirits who have been touched by Linda's wisdom and love are finding a chance here to touch others in turn, and to keep that dream alive. I think Linda would be very happy. And I know that Crystal, who has carried the baton left to her by Linda for a long time through some pretty discouraging circumstances, is overjoyed to see it bearing the fruit it is starting to bear here. And I couldn't agree with you more, to labor in love is the greatest blessing of all, worth all the pitfalls and stumbling blocks along the way. Follow that dream!

That was so beautifully put, KJS, thank you. Yes, I think Saturn was surely the inspiration for that phrase that appears over and over again throughout the I Ching: perseverance furthers.

You Cappie trine girls...sigh I work with one, and it's just such a nice 5-9, hell, I took a Cappie bride in 1990. And the Earth separating from Earth that Linda talks about, and actually highlights in the Virgo Guy/Cap Gal chapter, how that is so unbelievably difficult. Well, its all true. Any other Earth signs ever separated from an Earth partner in your lives? Blessings, Carlo

Well, Carlo, I have indeed separated from another earth sign, a Virgo. The separation itself was pure bliss for me; the relationship was NOT. It was 2 1/2 years of dealing with a very controlling, explosive person and wanting out but not quite knowing how to get out. I was much younger then and WAY too trusting. I've always recalled that relationship when I read (and, as you know, it says this almost everywhere) that relationships with other signs of your element are supposed to involve the least conflict. For some time after this relationship, I continued to find myself attracted to Virgos (because of my Virgo moon?). The two in particular I'm thinking of were good men, but there was no spark between us. I am now joyfully married to a lovely Sag. I never would have guessed I could connect so easily and profoundly with a fire sign (try seven planets in fire to my one, and zero planets in earth to my two), and I continue to be amazed every day. Nothing at all against Virgos; it's just that I've finally realized that my Virgo moon's idea of perfect order (earth with earth, fire with fire, etc.) doesn't capture the true essence of harmony and love--or of astrology! Must run! Hope I've made some sense. Best, KJS

Yes, much sense, thx KJS. Archers are nice, my sister is one, and my oldest friend from high school. I never seem to have an issue with the square-to-Virgo thing. Many Earth sign people I know seem to get along well with Fire people. I do like to have Water around, though, sometimes copious amounts. And I don't know about the same-element-least-conflict rule...I have seen some pretty incompatible same-element people. I think that if they set their minds to it, then they should be able to then relate better, yet if someone can't even give another the benefit of the doubt, then it doesn't matter what element or sign s/he is. Like that knucklehead Virgo that let you down. I do like Cappies though, real Earthy folks...I do like the Earth element. Thanksfor your comments KJs, Blessings, Carlo
