Here's a question for you all. It is thought that we, as human beings, all have the ability to tap into an inherent psychic self. That we all use only a minute percentage of our brian, and with training and conditioning we are all capable of such things as telepathy, telekinesis, ESP, past-life regression and astral projection. If you believe this to be so, as I do, how do you condition yourself to develop these talents? What abilities do you personally already have, and how did you get to the place where they've begun to show themselves? I'd love to hear about your experiences and any tips you may have on how I can develop my own psychic talents.

I know everyone's different, so the method for discovery will also be different. Nevertheless, any help would be appreciated.

Good thread and a very interesting subject, I haven't intentionally tried to do anything you have mentioned but I would say I have experienced some of them.
For instance, telepathy......I have had many times in my life where I have known that something is wrong with a close friend or a family member.....can't explain it, I've just known!sure enough everytime I've had this feeling I've been right.

There are many times on a daily basis that my Mother and I communicate without saying anything, she will turn round and look at me about to say something and I'll say it for her.

I have my Sun in Virgo and my moon in Scorpio and I have been told by various people that the Scorpio by nature is highly intuitive and can be very tuned in and psychic.....with a double placement you may well be experiencing many things already.
Don't you just get that GUT FEELING and every time you don't follow that feeling you wish EVERY time that you had because it was right. I have been told with having this moon placement that I must and should without exception listen to my gut.......how true this is I don't know, perhaps someone can give their tuppence worth.!!

I have met and talked to a number of people who have had out of body experiences most say they had a feeling of peace and floating though the air with a knowing that all was far greater and more awesome than we ever imagined.

As to past life regression, this is something I would love to do.......there are a number of fears I have which have manifested from nowhere......I am convinced they are something to do with a past-life experience, I was only discussing this with my sister the other day.

Anyway I am sure there are ways to train the brain to do all these things you say because it is such a complex and incredible organ that no-one completely understands......we can use self-hypnosis tapes, and it works I've done it......walking proof! so why can't we put ourselves into other states of mind.

Anyone else have some views......think I might go to sleep now

Ok...here goes...I DO think,just as Linda said in star signs,that u should let intuition and psychic ability come to u on their own as u evolve higher and higher."let amn seek the kingdom of god first and all other things will be added on...i do think the quote went like that?).And i have seen personally that when i tried hard,like i did crystal gazing,meditation..oh anything to give me psychic powers...it did not work!!!Here i want to put in a word about raising ur psychic instincts WITHOUT being evolved,or purified enough.That could easily get u into GREAT trouble!!!Oobe's are frightening if u cant handle them with spiritual knowledge and sometimes if u are too psychic or sensitive there is a big danger of becoming an unwilling medium to an earth bound entity.Then there are people who raise their powers but do it for negative means such as black magic.
Well,whatever it is...i feel psychic ability comes on its own,slowly and gradually as u start to learn more and more about love.LOVE is first,psychic powers come later.
As for me personally...well,i finally gave up methods to prod my pitutary gland to work.And i noticed over the years(i would say 5-6)that my intuitive powers have strenghtened INCREDIBLY!!I ALWAYS have intuitions and they are dot right!They usually come as feelings.I just have to think over some doubt in my mind and i feel my brain has an antennae...which it tunes into the ethers by...and pop...comes the answer in the feeling form.I have intuitions probably like 10 times a day!Sometimes i just have to relax,not think so that i DONT know whats happening next.In a way i find that negative...u miss out on lifes surprises but u are protected from the depressions.
So,you MUST listen to ur instinct...never ignore it...but yes...let nature take its course,and u will get there.Remember also...intense desire and wishing...they REALLY count...really!!

I remember when I was really young, there would be things that I would know such as something a friend would tell me at school, but I knew about it long before she would tell me.
In alot of ways that scared me and in some ways I found it pretty neat.

Now that I'm older, I listen to my Team and Guides. Now they will tell you that sometimes I don't always listen, and they have ways of making sure I do.

So really for me, I have never known anything different. Over the years I have learned more about them (by the way I'm 28) but I have never known what's It's like to be without them.

So maybe you should start asking questions and see what kind of response you get.
If a response flies right back at you chances are you are doing it right, but if you have to think about the response or feel it is forced chances are you are forcing the answer yourself.

I have 2 sisters. My older sister and I always know when we will talk to each other and it's usually a race to see who will get to the phone first. She has better luck at asking questions than my younger sister.

This might not be the way for you, but you can always try.

Ocean, I too have had similar experiences throughout my life (BTW, I'm 25). I've spent more years than not, brushing these feelings aside for fear that I was just imagining things. When I was in high-school I had several (what I found out later to be) empathic experiences. I didn't know at the time that these experiences were a gift--I thought everyone could feel other people's experiences. This is the one talent/gift/ability/whatever that has stayed with me. I've had many other experiences that I guess could be called psychic including "entities" visiting me. I'm only now starting to trust myself more. The frustration with me is, that I can never control my abilities. They come when I'm least expecting them, and never when I really want or need them to surface. .

I would really like to be able to tap into any gifts I may have---I guess, I just don't know how to go about doing that.

Great topic, and great name, Vixengrrl !! I love it. I'm a close friend of Ocean, in fact, we've known each other for most our respective 28 years, and I've gotta tell ya, once you become aware of these gifts that our higher selves bless us with, there is no stopping you on your own spiritual trek.

I thought I'd mention my thoughts on astral travel and projection, and past - life regression. I have discovered to my great delight that it is very very possible to travel to others, to connect with special spirits, and to "visit" your twin... (I had a rather intense encounter with my own last night, and the night before !! He lives over 6 hours away, but it was as though we were right next to one another.) Very very wonderful.

As Ocean mentioned, (we've discussed this and all related subjects at great length over the many years of our amazing friendship,) it is simply a matter of believing, and then KNOWING that there are other ways of communicating with others around us, and with ourselves, too. Are you familiar with the terms Higher Self and Twin Soul ?? Check out the many threads if you are not, but if you are, know that your Higher Self soooo wants you to listen, for she has many many special secrets to tell you... about yourself, and about -- everything !! Trust that when she speaks to you, and you will know it when she does by remaining calm and centred, and releasing all of your worries, and doubts.

About the astral projection, I most certainly believe it is possible, having experienced it many times myself, but I have to admit, I am at a loss as to how to properly explain how to do it. I know that I learned it myself quite by accident years ago, so it has become a rather natural occurence... tell you what---let me think on it, and see if I can --oh, wait, my own guides are telling me !!

Linda mentions in Star Signs of astral communication, with regards to your twin. She speaks of "sending out on the red line, and receiving back on the blue" think of light, light, tons of light, and then some. Imagine a cord connecting you to the person you wish to reach, and envision your msg travelling along a red, glowing telephone line, directly to this person. If you connect, and have the sense that they are responding, open yourself up to listening "back" on a blue line, quite like an electric blue lightning bolt type of cord... am I sounding too strange yet ?? hee,hee.

As for light, light, tons of light, think white. They are using white light therapy more commonly all over the place now, with cancer patients, and terminally-ill children...if it works for them, imagine what envisioning yourself in white light will do !

Years ago, I found myself on my hands and knees. Near death. I was given the experience of true love. My master-teacher put me through a long and difficult period of initiation. During this time, I developed the love. My DNA was bathed with "IT" for a long time. Upon completion of initiation, the energy that I carried was illuminated. I have a few questions for you:

1. You mentioned your guides. Who are they and how did they come to you. Were you always aware of them, or did they "appear" to you after you surpassed some "higher-self" obstacle?
2. Although I practice often, I still am not able to truely visualize light or images. I usually just imagine them and leave them at that. I feel like this is a major obstacle that I need to overcome. Do you have any suggestions?
3. When you "visit" your friend through astral projection, does he/she need to be aware that you're doing this? In other words, if I wanted to project myself to say, a friend in another state, would I first have to call them ahead of time to tell them to "tune-in"?

Listening to your higher self and going by it is an important thing.but sometimes there is so much emotional confusion that you dont know who exactly is the voice within.it is then that you must do what you feel like at the moment.if you dont and you regret it later then you would have lost the chance.but if you do,you have done your job and whether it has results or not ,you are satisified and have no regrets.rewards do take time coming.

Masters come of their own accord.when the student is ready.but beffore such a stage is reached,i have personally found that a person goes through intense testing afetr which he might ponder as to why he is here at all?take that as the first step.

During astral projection,it is not necessary to first inform.the astral is seen and known instantly.
