Introduction:
As you may already know, numerology is a science of numbers and has been around for 2500 years. Pythagoras was a famous Greek mathematician born in 580 b.c. His theory was to take man from the Level 1 (egocentricity) to the Level 9 (that of selflessness).
You take your birthday, which as two numbers, and your name, which has three. With those five numbers you can get insights on who you are and find out ways to improve your life. There is also an Attitude number which can be found in your birthday, and I will explain that later.
Numerology teaches us that most of the numbers, 1 thru 9 are in each of us. It is the placement of the numbers that makes a difference. But the most important number is your Lifepath number. When you don't have a lot of time to figure people out, that is the number you need to know.
I will go into which Lifepath numbers are compatible or toxic to you, when you start researching the people in your life, you might find that the Lifepath numbers you are supposed to get along with, you don't. You might be attracting the negative energy of that number because we attract again and again what we are used to.
You will begin to see how accurate it is when you break down the numbers of the people in your life and we begin to understand the negative and positive sides of numbers. It will make your life a lot easier
This form of numerology can also be a lot of fun Once we get into the whole of this system, you will begin to see and recognize patterns dealing with your own personal numbers. Before moving on to Lesson 1, I would just like to say that numerology can be healing. It can help you in discovering what you "really" want, and to find your path in life. In essence, in breaking down the numbers, we are going to be telling the "story" of you! I will be posting this in "lesson" form....

LESSON 1:

The Pythagoras number system is broken down as follows:

1 = A, J, S
2 = B, K, T
3 = C, L, U
4 = D, M, V
5 = E, N, W
6 = F, O, X
7 = G, P, Y
8 = H, Q, Z
9 = I, R

Exceptions...
If "Y" is between two consonants, it is considered a vowel.
If "Y" is next to a vowel, it is considered a consonant.

In everyday life we can come up with many references to numbers. We say we're "On Cloud 9" or "She's dressed to the 9's", "He's in 7th heaven", "3's a crowd", "Friday the 13th is bad luck" (which it isn't and there are tons of superstitions about the number 13, which is a 4 broken down). And we can't forget about "Catch 22" (and as you learn, the 22 is a Master number and if 22's don't master something, they are miserable). So as you see, we have always used numbers to communicate and as I get further into depth with the lessons, you will share more into this knowledge.
Before I explain the mathematical makeup of the "5" key numbers and how we calculate them, I would suggest taking a blank piece of paper or any scrap paper you might have lying around and make up a worksheet and list these:
1. List the name you go by
2. Your full birth name (this is called your destiny number)
3. Date of birth
4. Significant other's name
5. Their date of birth
6. Mother's name
7. Her date of birth
8. Father's name
9. His date of birth
10 Compatible numbers
11 Toxic numbers
12 Lucky numbers
13 Best months of the year
14 Best days of the week
15 Personal year for the present year
16 Personal month for the present month
17 Notes

This will make it simple for you to follow along and to make your calcuations
Okay, ready?!!!
This will be a quick overview and I will get further into depth as time allows.
There are 5 numbers derived from the combination of 1)your birthday and 2)your name. These are called:

1)The Lifepath Number (total of month,day and year of birth)
2)The Birth-Day Number (day of the month you were born on)
3)The Soul Number (the numeric value of the vowels in your name)
4)The Personality Number (the numeric value of the consonants in your name)
5)The Power of the Name Number (combination of the soul and personality numbers)
6)The Attitude Number (this is not in the "top 5" numbers, but can provide insights into a person which I will explain later)

In this method of numerology, all numbers are reduced to a single digit. Since Carlo was so kind to allow me to use him as an example, I will demonstrate the calculation as follows:

C=3
A=1
R=9
L=3
O=6

R=9
A=1
V=4
I=9
N=5

the vowels are added as 1+6+1+9 = 17/8
the consonants added as 3+9+3+9+4+5 = 33/6

the 8 is added to the 6 to total 14/5

8-28-1966 28= 10/1 and 8+2+8+1+9+6+6 =40/4

Okay the vowels were added across the top to total 17 and we break it down, it becomes "8". This is the first number and so "8" is the Soul number. This is what you feel inside. People who know you may not see it, but you are aware of it internally.
The consonants are added across the bottom to reach the sum of 33 which breaks down to a "6". This is the second number in the sequence and is referred to as the Personality number. This is how you appear to others on the outside.
Now, we add the soul number and the personality number together and we arrive at the "Power Name" number of "5" This number represents the strength of your name and lets us know who you are.
The last two numbers deal with the birthday.
The fourth number in the sequence is the "Birth Day" number and it is the way you appear to people, what you look like, the way people perceive you,their first impression of you. For double digits, just add them together, 2+8 gives us 10, 1+0 = 1.
The final number in the sequence is the MOST important number of the five and is called the "Lifepath" number. THIS IS THE NUMBER YOU MUST FULFILL IN ORDER TO BE TRULY HAPPY. We arrive at a "4" lifepath number here for Carlo AND his alter ego, as the numbers dealing with the birthday will never change.

I will get into more depth in Lesson 2, but before I go, I will give you a brief description of the summaries of the nine numbers...after all, I just taught you how to calculate them, I couldn't just leaving you hanging around without an explanation, or could I?!!!

SUMMARIES OF THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE NUMBERS 1-9

1 - a 1 vibration is somebody who is independent and self-motivated. They need to be in charge.

2- a 2 vibration is the mediator. They don't like conflict and they're sensitive. )Like me )

3- a 3 vibration loves to communicate. Laughter and being the clown is usually important. They should use their creative energy. (This happens to be MY lifepath number and I will say, It is all TRUE) Carlo, I believe that your real name MUST yield a "3" in there somewhere, as we all know that you possess a unique sense of humor.

4- a 4 vibration needs security. They're solid, responsible and they take care of business. (This would be the lifepath of Carlo and his alter ego. Feedback is appreciated here! )

5- a 5 vibration seeks freedom, a broad range of freedom such as physical, emotional, mental, social, sexual, financial and spiritual levels.

6- a 6 vibration is the nurturer. They love to nurture and also called caretaker. They have got to be in charge of a family or manage or run a company.

7- a 7 vibration needs to learn to have a spiritual base. They're very intelligent. We do not always understand the 7 vibration and where they are coming from but if you listen, you can learn

8- a 8 vibration needs material freedom. That's their goal. They have strong executive ability and they like to be in positions of power.

9- a 9 vibration exudes leadership. People always assume the 9 knows exactly what's going on. So 9's often, have issues with their Mom or Dad where they feel unloved or abandoned or they feel completely responsible.

That concludes lesson 1. I will try to post Lesson 2 tomorrow, and it will cover in depth, the meanings of all 9 numbers!

There is one question I have though.....what if you decide to change your birth name, either through marriage or just because you don't like your birth name, do you still do everything by the name you were very first given???Some people have changed their names because the numerology was unfavorable ........what then??

A big golden star to you You are dealing with some powerful "5" vibrations! One of them being your lifepath number which in essence means that it will be that much more important to you, the meaning of "5".
In this method of numerology, the descriptions of the numbers do magnify times the number they appear in your lineup.
So, freedom loving Kel, love fun and adventure? Variety is the spice of life? Do you get bored very easily? Hate to be controlled? (To make this short, as my intentions are to provide extensive descriptions of the vibrations for each number.)
You love holidays, all the major holidays, Xmas, Thxgiving, any holiday actually. There can be a wild side to the "5", usually born out of the "fear" of boredom. Just a teaser, I will give you the full rundown on "5" later today when I have the opportunity
Now about changing the name for more positive vibrations....
It is important to realize that your birth name is name that you will have no doubt spent many years vibrating to. When we talk about the birth name and numerology, the third number, "power name" number is referred to as the "destiny" number as it is the vibration that you will inevitably deal with in your lifetime. The number may be different from the name you will have if you marry or change your name to avoid negative vibrations. BUT, this vibration cannot be ignored, so it is always helpful to find ways to use it to your advantage. I will get into the "destiny" number as well.

Just a quickie, as you said you are opening a thread for FAQ, YES, YES, YES !!!!!!
I NEED to socialise and meet people, I love places that are crowded with people having fun and watching live bands etc. anywhere where the energy is positive and free flowing, and I hate not having social events organised, I often believed my chart was all wrong because I acted so much like a Sag, I seem to attract friends that have Sag in their charts aswell......

LESSON 2:

As I mentioned previously, lesson 2 is going to delve into the meanings of the numbers 1 - 9. Keep in mind as you read that the words energy, number, and vibration are all interchangeable.
I tend to look at the positive side of the numbers as they relate to people, but there are two sides and all numbers do have negative aspects associated with them.
I will be posting these with their own threads as the definitions for some of the numbers can become quite lengthy. And I feel that it will be much easier for anyone to quickly locate a number that they wish to refer to.
Please keep in mind that the Lifepath number (the total of your month, day and year of birth) is the most significant and should be studied first.
(This is where you should put that seat belt on, it just might be a bumpy ride! )
