I thought I'd give the Wiccan Rede to you. I love it!

THE WICCAN REDE
Bide the Wiccan laws ye must,
in perfect love and perfect trust.

Live and let live -
fairly take and fairly give.

Cast the Circle thrice about
to keep all evil spirits out.

To bind the spell every time,
let the spell be spake in rhyme.

Soft of eye and light of touch -
speak ye little, listen much.

Deosil go by the waxing Moon -
sing and dance the Wiccan Rune.

Widdershins go when the Moon doth wane,
and the werewolf howls by the dread wolfsbane.

When the Lady's Moon is new,
kiss the hand to Her times two.

When the Moon rides at Her peak,
then your heart's desire seek.

Heed the North wind's mighty gale -
lock the door and drop the sail.

When the wind comes from the South,
love will kiss thee on the mouth.

When the wind blows from the East,
expect the new and set the feast.

When the West wind blows o'er thee,

Nine woods in the Cauldron go -

Hi Annie,

Regarding your question about the mechanics of a spell. How it works? I too am interested in the thoughts of others that are knowledgable in the subject.

I am going to take a guess.

I think that a spell would be amost imposible without "feeling and creative visualization". Meaning that you must feel deep down in your heart that it is right. You must feel strongly that is right and know it will happen. Also to imaging it has happened already by picturing it in your mind's eye while you are doing the spell.

I also think a spell is more powerful if it is done by your s-elf. Because you really care about making it happen and someone else doesn't have such a personal involvement.

For example: If my friend wanted her boyfriend to marry her and she got me to do the spell it wouldn't be as effective. It might even be uneffective if in my heart I didn't think they should marry.

I also believe that a spell that harms someone is x3 bad karma to the person doing it and vice versa x3 good karma if it helps.

Just my opinion,

Nice Dolphin! You hit it right on the head! The key to a successful spell is intent. All the "props" in the world - incense, candles, a nice robe, beautiful altar - matter not unless you have the requisite intent. And you should always add, either verbally or just image it: "for the good of all, and it harm none." For a spell may not be good for someone else, and you have to be clear about that first. All the summoning of rc, for example, will not work unless and until it is right for him to come back.

Other than that, if your intent is clear, pure, and harms none, including yours-elf, then your spell will be successful. Oh yes! Also be clear and specific in what you ask for! The gods have a sense of humor!
