Hi, Neha! Always a pleasure! I don't k-now anything aout Indian astrology, but I want to learn. The moon is the real inner you, and the ascendant is the face you wear to others. Often, the moon is the same as your sun, but not early always. I have always wanted to write a book that goes into very high detail about moon signs, because they are more accurate than One's sun sign. It would be nice to have people asking what others' signs are and having them respond with their moon! No, Chinese astrology doesn't use the placements of the planets to form a chart, though the Chinese were aware of five of the planets; instead the planets govern the five Elements. Air is conspicuously absent from the Elements, but only because it is the most powerful and is thought to be in everything everywhere at everytime. Air is called "feng," which is loosely translated as "wind." Think of it as The Tao--the Uni-versal energy that permeates all things, also known as "chi." (Although chi refers to living things, and The Tao is a Uni-versal consciousness--it all depends on your interpretation. The Tao is the Source of all that is.) Let me know how your chart reads! I am so curious! Peace.
