hi there greg.. first of all - kudos - to you for maintaining such a great site.. must be one heaven of a job..

was just wondering whether we could have live chats on this site, sort of like a one to one chat with the same number of different rooms etc where all of us can have a one on one chat instead of posting msgs on the msg boards and sometimes waiting for that to be read and replied.. of course, the msg board will still hold the big ones like lexipoems, suggestions etc, but on the chat we can xchange ideas and quickly at that..

its just a suggestion.. maybe you could look into it...

regards
leximaker

He, heh -- Heaven of a job, nice way of putting it! Thanks for the compliments. Actually, we've discussed the live chat idea and decided not to make it a regular feature at this time ... our subject matter just lends itself better to the slower-paced "read, ponder and think about it, then reply" mode of the discussion forums. What we MAY do, though, is to open special chat rooms for unique scheduled events -- say a guest appearance by one of Linda's former colleagues or fellow researchers, or a "grand unveiling" when a previously unpublished work is released. We're definitely thinking about this and will certainly keep everyone posted when there are any further developments.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi Gregg,

I agree with you on that thought of "read, ponder then answer mode" - but I do agree with Leximaker about the live chat - kinda brings out the spontaneity of things and gives a closer touch...

well, that is a splendid idea though on entering a live chat forum with colleagues of Linda which would be informative and great to know these colleagues personally...

but...

a live chat with you, Moderators and the members is a swell idea and I cast my first vote !

nevertheless...I can't thank you enough for bringing this magic to birth and especially meeting the people who share the magic of Linda and her world !!!

Love
druid.

hi gregg.. yo druid..

merci you both for responding and at the same time finding my suggestion worthwhile.. come to think of it in gregg's terms yes it is good to have this "read, ponder and think about it, then reply" mode of discussion especially when certain "brief" people like the druid are on the net.. (oops sorry uddir, i could'nt help the dig)..

all the same, great work gregg and am sure everyone would appreciate and love the idea of the colleagues or researcher's of our beloved linda on the net..

it's your move gregg..

wordfully yours
the leximaker

I am 100% against live chat as the standard here...sorry, it would ruin the whole site. The slower-paced "read, ponder and think about it, then reply" mode works best. The idea about live chat for a guest might be nice, yet the heart of this site is our ability to read and to digest, and to do our best to be thoughtful in our replies...soemthing everyone who has ever done even the smallest bit of live chat knows does not exist in that scenario. That is my opinion.

Blessings,

Carlo
