Hello Knowflakes.......I was just wondering if anybody else has pets who are acting strange.......Barney our cat who is over 10 years old had been with us a long time, but has started acting a little wierd, as of late...it's as if he were trying to talk to me.....he comes up to me and meows, meows,meows.....Of course, I know if he's hunrgy, or thirsty....but when he's not...he still does this thing...like a little child trying to talk to you....and I say, "What is it, Barney? I wish I could understand you."

I feel kinda frustrated, cuz I can't....but I just pet him, and let him know I love him...still I wonder what he's trying to say.....

Luv,
Rainbow~

Hi Rainbow and Gali

My dog Sybil isn't meowing at me ... but she's acting WYRRD!! She's actually acting a bit lost. Normally she's spunky and bouncing off the walls non-stop, now she wanders aimlessly with her head hung low like she just lost her best friend and she just sits and stares at us.

Wonder if it's the effects of the eclipse causing it??

LOve and LIght,
PurplePeace

Hello All Pet People!
On the day of the solar eclipse, in the afternoon, the outside "wild" family (3 cats; mom/dad/son) had some strange trauma that involved the mom screaming at and scaring off the son. That incident caused my "indoor" family of cats to get upset...and later...2:30 a.m. to be exact...caused my three males to turn on eachother...and by the time I had calmed them all down (by bursting into tears, actually) one of my male's Ear had been torn open and was bleeding. I was at the vet first thing and they said that things had been weird for them as well.
Ever since that incident, my cats now have to sleep with a night light on in their room. And, yes, they all have been abit sluggish since.

Waiting and Wondering...

Teresa

Wyrrder and wyrrder is RIGHT! Gali!!

I didn't mention it Teresa by my dog bit my son Justin right in the face about a week ago too! She didn't hurt him, just a scratch. I'm sure if she wanted to hurt him she could have. Sybil was lying on the floor and Justin bent down and put his head on her to say hello and she snapped at him. She's his bestus pal and loves him dearly. I'm still in shock that she'd do that to Justin of all people! She hasn't been mean since, just looks all gloomy, depressed and is obviously irritable or she wouldn't have snapped at Justin!

I'm KNOWING something wyrrd is affecting our pets for SURE and CERTAIN!

LOve and LIght,
PurplePeace

Exactly! My animals have gotten upset with eachother in the past, but I am usually able to settle them down with an authoritative shout. This time that didn't even register...a squirt of water just made it worse...and when I bursted into helplessness-tears...I relieved that they finally realized who I was and calmed down. Of course, seeing the bloody Ear caused the tears to continue flowing for again.
Now, all of a sudden, they all seem to be extra needy for attention. They are my 'children' and I try to give them as much as I can
I am sorry to hear that your little Justin's bestus pal Sybil was also affected by what ever wyrrd thing is going on
I hope that he knows that she didn't mean to bite him.

Hoping all will return to normal
for us all!

Teresa

Oh, my weird is right! Since the eclipse my cat, Spooky (I have two others, which I inherited when my Mom died this year), has been very sick. When I adopted him in 12/97 I didn't know he had feline leukemia until he got his shots the next month. Since then, he has been in perfect health. But starting very close to the eclipse (I think it was the 13th) he has been very sluggish, sleeping all the time, not playful, not much eating.

I took him to the Vet almost two weeks ago and they diagnosed an infection, probably related to the FL. They did an ultrasound and found he has an enlarged spleen. So, after an overnight stay (and a vet bill of over $800) I took him home with his meds.

Everyother day he was his normal self. But for the past three days he's been really bad. The vet said yesterday that it might be cancer, so we are going to do another ultrasound and some tests to find out tomorrow. He still hasn't licked the infection.

He won't eat on his own ~ I'm force feeding and watering him, which he is enjoying about as much as taking his medicine. He doesn't seem to be in pain but all the life has gone out of him. Until I saw this thread I never thought the two might be connected. Who knows.

Hopefully, this is just a really nasty bug ~ if it's cancer, I don't know what I will do. Chemotherapy is cruel enough on humans, I don't want to think what it will do to my boy.

The other two cats are acting normally, for them (hehehehe) ~ they are a little strange, even for cats.

PurplePeace, I hope Justin and Sybil are bestus friends again

First off I want to Know why we Knowflakes have pets that are WYRRD to begin with! Why to you think I named my dog Sybil

Teresa I think they're all just entirely too irritable. Nice though how they knew you were upset and stopped right quick! Of course they wouldn't want to upset YOU!

So sorry to hear about Spooky Laura. I hope he's feeling better!! I'll be sending loads of healing energy his way

Sybil still isn't back to normal, but Justin has forgiven her! He was REALly mad at first though! I can't wait until this is over. You'll all have to let us know when your pets are back to normal... well okay... normal for a Knowflake pet!

LOve and LIght,
PurplePeace

Laura Elizabeth, I am praying for your precious cat!!! I come from a family who is very close to their animals and we have been through cancer before with them and it is so painful....much love and blessings. Maybe he will get back his will. Teresa, I'm sorry about that, Max has been getting in fights lately too and his ear has been torn up as well....eep. Purple Peace, Justin isn't afraid of Sybil tho is he? I have seen that happen too, I hope that didn't affect their relationship any. Blessings to you all.
Love and furry critters,
Gal

You have my prayers for your Spooky, too, Laura Elizabeth -- it's soo hard to deal with a pet whose been with you for years having a life-threatening illness, I know.

We've been having strange animal behavior too. A few weeks ago our two big mutts (one we've had for 9 years, the other a year and a half) got into a fight with each other. They are dear companions and that's never happened before or since ... it so rattled Firesong that she tried to break up the fight, and our old dog actually BIT her deeply -- she had to get 18 stitches in her arm!

Our next door neighbor (down the road) has a young Alsatian dog who's become great friends with Casper (our friendly giant, 120 pounds of enthusiastic good will) has suddenly decided he lives here, and won't go home except briefly to eat, stays outside the cabin all night long (not mating behavior, he and our male & female have all been neutered). Very strange.

Thank you all for your lovely words and positive thoughts for Spooky. Since he hadn't been moving around much, I keep sticking my new Purple Plates under him, hoping that they will help.
<P>
Gregory, poor Firesong! Ouch! Oh, I hope she is better ~ I've had stiches and they ain't fun at all. Maybe your neighbor's dog has decided he just likes you folks better ~ I just know there is a lot of love and good energy surrounding your home and the dog feels it too!

Hi ALL!!

Laura... Gali...
Justin and Sybil are back to normal He's not afraid of her at all. In fact I haven't been allowing Sybil to run the house freely this past week bcuz she's acting so wyrrd. Every time I turn my back Justin is sneaking her in.

I hope the plates are helping Spooky!!! I'm sure all the LOve and healing thoughts are helping!

LOve and LIght,
PurplePeace

Greetings all,

Didn't Linda say in one of her books that animals can sense Earth changes before humans do??? Such as ants leaving their anthills before an earthquake??

I wonder if this weird animal behavior is related to the quake in Turkey???? Or other changes ccloser to home to come?? (Lets IMAGE not!)

So sorry to hear about Spooky, Sybil and Justin and Firesongs' bite!!! I ENVISION all are healing well, but such weird behavior is upsetting!!

Peace, healing and blessings to all,
Annie

I want to thank you all again for your loving and positive thoughts and prayers for Spooky. I can't express how much it meant to me.

I did have to have him put to sleep on Tuesday. The tests confirmed cancer in his spleen and liver. Over last weekend he was having trouble coordinating his back legs. He could no longer jump up to his favorite perch on the window sill to watch the birds fly by.

I knew on Monday, when he started whimpering every time I picked him up, that it was time for him to leave me. I couldn't make him linger here anymore, since he was now in pain. I've had to have sick and injured animals put to sleep before but this was, by far, the hardest. He gave me so much love and joy in such a short space of time. I will miss him greatly.

Oh, gosh. I'm sorry Laura Elizabeth.
I have tears in my eyes, I am such a baby.
Bless you...you know he is in kitty heaven loving you still? It has been two years since I had to put my Maggie to sleep, and I still have her picture up, she loved to sit in the windowsill too. Bless you, and Spooky too.
Love and Peace,
Galadriel

Dear Laura Elizabeth,

I am sorry about your loss of your dear Spooky. I am glad that he/she? is not suffering any more and is at peace.

I had to put our loving, wonderful Sunshine to sleep in the spring. It is not easy, but I felt it was the right thing for her.

Remember, love never dies!!
Peace to you both,
Annie
