Boy it is sure nice to be back, I am so glad freebird stopped in to water things up, the heat wave has done a lot of us in on the outside, crops are suffering, tempers are raising..but I just happened to fade off into my mind frame and remember the place we all had built, the one place we all had to go that made us feel so very good.. so I came back to checkin for a little bit.. Baybe has has little ones so their house is also filling up, took in a rescue that was pretty bad off, and he is doing so much better.. My lifes turns are ever so changing, and I have to keep remembering that I am a double Aries, so I am full of new beginings...travel has been ever so rampant, and I do apologize for not being around as often as I would like, But I shall go where my life lessons lead me,... but for now a bit of rest and relaxation seems to be in order.. I will pull up by the fire, and heat me up some tea, maybe the smells will bring back others to the place we all left a long time ago... I look up and see the books, so nicely covering the wall.. I pull down one of the Gooberz books and curl up by the fire.. it is so very peaceful here....that is what i needed.. I will be here for a few more days.. so come on in and sit a spell with me.. lets throw the fairy dust and ride the tails..

Australdi, come on in and join us.. the tea is hot.. and I brought some sugar and cream for those that want it "english style" and I found some heart shaped cookies that gregory dropped off... Nephthys, no they are not bats.. yes they are our pets.. they are marsupials.. that originated in Australia.. but most of the ones we have here in the states are from New Guinea, New Zealand or Tazmania.. most now are Stateside borne. Very cool pets if researched properly..let me see if I can explain this...the american way... they are the size of a chipmunk, they have the markings of a badger, the eyes of a opossum, the ears of a bat, they have hands like us, feet like a monkeys, teeth like a snake, a tail like a monkey, a gliding membrane like a flying squirrel, a pouch like a kangaroo.. they bark like a puppy, purr like a kitten, hiss like a snake, chatter like a squirrel, and sound like a locust when they are scared...they have the attention needs of an infant child, the curiosity of a toddler, and the personality of a teenager..Once they trust you, they bond with their main caregiver and can live up to 15 years in captivity... There is a long list of downsides as well..my Baybe does go everywhre with me, including restaurants and she has been to disneyworld.. and always accompanies me here to the hotel.. she loves the sisle walls, and the high rafters.. I do not use leases or any pouches that seal..she stays with me out of love.. I do have a pic of her on my webpage gliding.. I normally don't trust her around other animals.. but the ones here at the hotel are very special..as are all the guests...

Hi Lori, Hi everyone I saw your light on and thought I'd drop in. I've brought some fudge to go with the tea, I think you guys call them Brownies. Wow this place is so comfy...thanks for the tea,... lovely and a sheepskin rug by the fire to sit on...scrumptious! Ahhhh....what a lovely way to relax after a hard day of work. Oh I almost forgot; I brought Springs first blossoms too, Daffodils, Prunus blossums and extra special Wattle blossums (straight from Aus) as well as some Daphne. Can you smell them? Living in the Southern hemisphere does have some advantages... Don't mind me if I go all quiet, I'm just so relaxed and I love to sit and listen to your conversations. The cadences are so soothing... enjoy the fudge Di XX

Lori, Yes, I went to those websites and saw their picture, and they looked kind of like a bat in those pictures. Wow! I love animals and it's neat to find out about ones I never heard of!! I wonder how that name originated. Thanks!

Oh, listen to the rythem of the falling rain. Don't you just LOVE it? The smell of rain harmonizes with the perfume of the flowers and goes right to my head. Could heaven have anything more loverly to offer? Those Lavender Lace Roses are more precious than gold, especially when they come from some one as sweet and thoughtful as our Dani. A gift that warms me to my very soul. Thank you, Dear Heart. It is so good to see this place filling up again with so many of my old friends. And we even have a new visitor. A hearty welcome to you, Australdi. How nice of you to come here and share your Magic with us. The way you talk about Australia made me miss it and I've never even been there. I had dropped by to do a little dusting and check on the garden out back and you can't imagine how happy I was to find that Lori had opened the doors and polished off the welcome mat. I ran back to the garden and picked some of the mint I had planted last Spring. I left a bowl of leaves right next to the tea Pisces brewed for us just in case any one would like to float them in their tea cup. I even found some honey out there that some very specail busy bees left for us. It's the best honey I have ever tasted. If you all will excuse me, I think I will go out in the garden for a while and watch the rain fall from Father Sky. I do believe I will take a cup of tea and a brownie with me. I love brownies that are still a bit warm from the oven. I can tell that these were made with love. Magic moments to ALL Freebird

Hi Everyone!!!! *big silly grin---carrying an armload* I brought a Birdbath for the garden Freebird planted!! And you see these little rocks here? I will arrange these on one side so that the smaller birds can have a shallow end to play in. It seemed like just the right thing! I can't stay long as I am in the world of wheels and music tonight------but I DO have time for a spot of tea. Oh Freebird this mint is wonderful!. I must tell you--*shy *---My Mom always called me 'our Dani'----when I heard those words from you---they touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. That is more special to me than you knOw. I think about you a lot---and I have missed you these last months. I hope you are walking the path of healing and not finding yourself alone to walk. Three steps forward and two steps back---that's always how it's been for me. I'm glad you like the flowers. *tears up again* Blessings on you my friend. Love, Dani

Well, what do you know! It looks like it stopped raining. The air smells so fresh and clean here. All of the plants in the garden are wearing smiley faces. I'm not sure if it's because of the refreshing rain or the Birdbath. Probably both. That was so thoughful of you, Dani. I can't imagine why I never thought of it. I have one in my rose garden at home and it wouldn't be the same with out it. Next time I come here I'll ask my little Goldfinches if any of them want to come with me. I'm sure I'll get at least a few volunteers. For some reason, our yard has been full of them this year. But I hope to keep my favorite bird right here. I don't even know what kind of bird he is, but he's such a little clown. He likes to perch on the edge of the bird feeder and hang upside down. He had me laughing first thing this morning. I just have to share the strangest thing that happened to me this morning. A marvelous thunder storm rolled in about 5 o'clock this morning and woke me up. I couldn't get back to sleep, so I decided to get up and go out on the balcony and watch the storm for a while. I sat down on the rocker and looked up and the sky and I could have sworn I saw the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland smiling at me. I was sitting there wondering about my sanity when a cloud floated by the Moon that is nearly new. I sat there gazing at it for a while and then it really got strange. Mind you, this is durning a thunderstorm and the only part of the sky that was clear was around the Moon. Then the smile started fading exactly the way the Cheshire Cat's smile faded in Disney's movie. What a way to start a day!!! Yes, Dear Heart, we are healing. Every now and then we go through our moments of great sadness, but for the most part, we are doing just fine. We can still feel Robie's presence, but it's not nearly as strong as it was when he first passed over. He seems to drop by and check on us every once in a while. We get the feeling that he is very busy doing what ever it is he is supposed to be doing on the other side and that he has adjusted quite well. My daughter said that she saw his face in her mind as she was waking up the other morining and he was laughing. It's nice to know that he has kept his sence of humor. Australdi, do tell your Mum that I loved her brownies. She must be a very special woman to make brownies with just the right amount of love. Not over powering, but ever so warm and sweet. Oh, oh. No time to say Hello/Goodbye. I'm late, I'm late, I'm late. PS I missed you too. Freebird

--Is the little bird that hangs upside down about the size of a sparrow only thinner? Does he have a white belly with grey and black wings---kind of a pointy beak and looks a little flat headed? It's what flashed through my mind---and that would be a white-breasted nuthatch. They love to eat upside down---and once they know you --they are quite bold. His cousin the Red Breasted nuthatch has patches of rust just along side the bottom of his wings. Have the Robins shown up down there?---they have already left here and that is a good month early. I love their morning song. I'm glad you are feeling better. hi to everyone!!!Thanks for the goodies!!!! Love, Dani

Hi Ho Dani! Well, now I know what kind of bird he is. You discribed him perfectly. He is such a pretty combination of white, black and grey. Did you see the word "nut" pop right out of his name? He certainly is a little nut case. And he does allow me to get closer than most birds do. Think I'll start calling him my little nut. I bet he likes it. I haven't noticed any Robins of late. They aren't at the bird feeder. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for them. The finches and Cardinals are in control of the feeder. Maybe there isn't enough room for them. I also have a bunch of Humming birds that hang out between their feeder and the Mimosa tree. I love watching them. Hope you don't mind, but I brought a crystal bowl filled with water and cut a three Lavender roses to float in it. I thought three was a nice number being that it vibrates to the same tune as Jupiter. I sat it on a table right by the door so it could bless every one as they enter. May the Blue Bird of Happiness cast it's spell on you. Freebird

I must admit, you all have a way with the flowers and birds.. Australdi, my dear how I would love to see the beauty you so beautifly described. The one place I have longed to go, for some reason it is a place that seems to pull so very hard at me. MoonGlow was one of the first people I met here, and it was a silly thing, when she and I were on together which was more often than not, it wasn't uncommon for us to post at the exact same time, many times, about the same topics, sometimes different threads.. It was almost like a mind meld.. The more we did it, the more we joked about it.. then one day we sat down and realized, I was Aries with Gemini Rising, she was Gemini with Aries Rising. But then the strangest thing happened.. I found out that she also lives in Australia, that made it even stranger for me.. here I am in the middle of the states.. with a glider from Original Australia decent (meaning originally they all came from Australia)I have been involved with the research of these guys for 5 years, and that pull, that very hard press pull had always been there in my life..I was offered passage to Australia, and to the breaking of a dream, had to turn it down.. for the fear of losing the one link I have, the one thing that means more to me than any my dreams. My Baybe.. So I shall be more than glad to hear the stories, the tales, the loveliness of your descriptions, with Baybe sitting on my chest..I know she will not live forever, and I know the preparations I am doing, has a purpose in my life. So I will wait ever so patiently for the dream to become a reality.. till then dream on.. as I will be there to share them with you.. Freebird.. It is also so great to see you as usual, you and dani bring so much beauty to this hotel, again something I can only live through the eyes of you.. I would be lucky if I could tell the differnce between a rose or a daisy, a eagle or a robin.. It all adds to the peace and tranquility that this place has always brought into the middle of a bustleing life.. There is a song for people like me.. it goes something like "I rush and I rush to get things done, I rush so much that life's no fun.." It must be the aries in me, I have my fingers into so many pots these days, I have just taken on managing a couple of singers from nashville, and it definitly isn't a slow life. I manage to sneak in once in awhile, look at the hotel, and rush back out. One of these days, I will slow down and not just think about smelling those roses, but taking the time to plant a few as I go.. It would seem so befitting.. I shall take a walk outside, and smell those flowers, and that sweet sweet air... If you can not find me, I'll be out there on the tail of that comet.. remember what life has to offer me.. the real things that count.. Sweet smells, fresh air, and very dear souls..

I know the song you are talking about, Lori. When I first heard it I thought maybe they wrote it with me in mind. My Aries Sun has a tendency to rush around in a hurry to get things done. Then when it's all done I can come here to the hotel and relax, or putter in my garden, watch the butterflys and birds, and keep in touch with Earth Mother. My Libra rising would go crazy without the balance. I do love your stories about your fine feathered friends, Dani. I got a good laugh over your duck. What a character! Does any one ever catch you talking to your birds? It can be a bit embarasing. I've been known to get some rather strange looks when I got caught. I hope my Scarlet (the Cardinal) understands that I haven't been talking to him a lot lately. We are having some work done on the house and with all of these strange men running around the house, I've had to act "normal." He does follow me around a chatter at me when I'm outside puttering. Well, I can't stay long. I just stopped in for a refreashing spot of tea and a few quiet moments in the shade. Time to get back to cleaning up after the work men. Nice guys, but a bit on the messy side. Keep a song in your heart. Freebird

Yes Freebird-- I have been "caught"--- and uhhuh it's embarrassing. My husband used to think I was crazy until he spent time in the garden with me and heard the birds calling ME. But once I was in the yard and I did not know my neighbor was home---Jenny Wren and i were talking and I was copy catting her song back at her---she was calling and calling back---and finally my neighbor popped her head over the top of the fence and said--"you keep it up and that bird is going to poop on you!" And just last week---I went out to feed the Jays and I whistled for them---as I filled their feeders---I kept on calling them--as I turned to walk back in I saw my other neighbor in her back yard and she was just staring at me---then she says--"what are you doing?" I told her I was calling the Blue jays in for peanuts and she started to laugh.--- Well her laugh cut short when from the branch right above her she heard a whistle that sounded like the call I made and suddenly a Blue jay streaked in over her head to the feeder in my yard while i was still right next to it. You should have seen her face!!! I'm sure mine was covered with smug Virgo Satisfaction!!!! LOL Peace to you all my friends-- oh and Lori---it was my Mother that taught me the love of flowers and animals--and my Dad taught me the Love of animals and flowers but they both taught me to share. All of this is for everyone---you can enjoy them when ever you want and you don't have to do any weeding! Love, Dani

Oh how lovely is the evening!!! Dropped by and caught a few chuckles. Laughter is so good for the soul. Can you believe I got caught talking to a Cardinal this morning at work? One of the guys drove up as I was crossing the parking lot talking to this silly bird that was hollering at me for attention. I didn't even look to see what kind of strange look he had on his face. I've seen "that" look before and have learned to live with it. As far as I'm concerned, more people should talk to the birds. They don't know what they are missing. At least this time I wasn't talking to a tree. I've gotten caught doing that too. I hate to eat a brownie and run, but I have work to do. I'm just glad I found time today to drop in and absorb some of the beautiful atmosphere we share here. Don't forget to wish upon a star. Freebird

::clapping and laughing:: Searching, what a great story. My family thinks I'm crazy because I have all out conversations with my cat. I don't know what they'd think if they found out I talk to birds and other cute fuzzy woodland creatures. It's funny how people react, the other day Minx and I were arguing about her collar (she's an indoor cat - I want her to wear a collar, just in case she gets out. She didn't like it at first). Just as we were getting into it, my Sister comes to the door. I let her in and Minx stalks out of the room. Sis asks, "what's wrong with her?" So I tell her that we are having an arguement about the new collar. Just as my Sister suggests that I see a therapist, Minx walks into the room, pulls on the collar, lets out this burst of meows, turns tail, and stomps out of the room again. My sister gave me the strangest look and went "oooookkkkaaaayyyyyy, maybe I need the therapist." It's rather cool here today so I brought along some cider. Anyone want a glass?

I'm great, just pooped. Still in the same old place. Thanks so much for asking. They have been working us like slaves at work. I haven't had a minute to myself. And, the few minutes I get to be online a day have been, unfortunately, dedicated to other things. Thank you so much for the warm welcome back. You don't know how much it means to me. I almost didn't post, I was almost (almost) too embarassed, seeing as it's been so long since I posted last. I figured that no one would remember me. Minx, on the other hand, knew everyone would remember her . Speaking of Minx, I just got a digital camera. So who better to test it out on than the cutest little black cat in the universe? The pictures aren't the greatest, I don't have a feel for the camera, yet. But, here she is http://citizens.nettaxi.com/minxsmom/nss-folder/pictures/minxtest.jpg http://citizens.nettaxi.com/minxsmom/nss-folder/pictures/minx1.jpg
And, in case you didn't get enough, even more Minx

Talk to you soon----I have a looooonnnnggggggg day ahead of me. Love, Dani

Welcome Back, Minxsmom! I knew you would be back here one of these days. Don't feel bad about disappearing for a while. It seems that all of us have been pretty busy this summer. I know I have. I'm so glad this thread picked up again. Even if I can only find a few minutes, I always feel refreashed when I leave here. Thanks for the cup of cider. You must have added some special kind of spice to it. I feel more energetic already. I'll have to put all of that energy to good use. You know how it is on your day off. You wind up working harder than you do on the job. Wishing you all Wind beneath your Wings Freebird

I can see the warm yellow glow of the fire through the windows and is that apples and hyachinths I smell in the air? Perhaps I'll take a couple of steps closer...so enviting... warm conversation and laughter seeps out into the star-lit night... Kitties everywhere! Lounging on the front porch...some in contet slumber...others curled up next to each other, huddled close together for warmth and love... WHooPs! I almost didn't see you there, Minx!! Your velvet black coat blended in with the darkness...but your glowing eyes gave you away!... Is that a VACANCY sign I see in the window?... "Mommy, she hit me!" "Mommy, look at me!" "Mommy, I want a snack!" "Mommy, I have to go potty!" "Mommy, she took my toy! And won't give it back!" "Moooooooooommmmmm!!!!"... The little Scorpian and Crab are tucked safe in bed...finally it's quiet, but I still hear their voices ringing in my head!... {{{{Freebird}}}} Thanks for the warm welcome back. I think some of the fairy dust blew into the cider jug. That must be what you taste. Your post made me laugh. I, too, know "the look" all too well. And, have been caught on more than several occassions interacting with various flora and fauna. BlakeHeart, hopefully, that enchanting music is the sound of the future. The sounds that I will soon be making on my new harp.
It is a beautiful rosewood Celtic lap harp. It just arrived last night. Now all I need is a tuner and hopefully I will eventually learn how to play. ::hope, hope, hope:: I didn't tell any of my family about the harp. My goal is to learn and practice, practice, practice - and, hopefully, by Christmas I can surprise them all by playing something. ::hope, hope, hope:: You know - learn to play the harp, while crocheting the Colonial Flag Throw for a gift for my Mother for Christmas, while needle pointing another gift for Mom, while practicing my knitting so I can finally make that sweater, while working all this overtime in our busy season. Not too much to do. I know I'm a pisces, but I think this is pushing it a bit

The hills are alive with the sound of music! Maybe it's the honey bees singing that you hear, BlakeHeart. They can hardly wait for Minxsmom to learn to play her harp so they can make music together. The sweeter the music, the sweeter the honey. Maybe it was fairy dust in the cider. I got a lot done yesterday and did it all with a silly smile on my face. Had a rough day today, so I came back for more. Brought some cedar logs to throw on the fire. I just love the smell of cedar, don't you? I hope it doesn't over power the wonderful scent of all these beautiful flowers. Have you noticed that the colors become so vibrant when we bring them here? It must be the Magic in the air. I think I'll go out on the balcony and watch for a falling star to wish on. Feel free to join me and we will all make a wish. Love and Laughter for ALL Freebird

Oh, Freebird, you think of everything. I don't know what it is about cedar, but it seems to relax and invigorate at the same time - but it never seems to overpower - so I don't think the flowers have a thing to worry about. What is that delightful smell? Did someone put on a fresh pot of tea? ------------------ powerful words, that ring with truth words that sing, forsooth! yes, words that ring and words that sing words of spring and every good thing...like kitties =^..^=

**sniff** **sniff**...AAAAhhhhhhh... my whole body relaxes and tensions are released...I lay back and sink into heaven,as dozens of multi-colored butterflies flutter about the room from flower to flower ... Yes, Minxsmom, please practice all you want here, as even bumblings from a harp always magically sound beautiful in the end!... a honeybee buzzzes softly in my ear before it decides to rest a spell on my arm... Funny, Freebird, how the bees don't sting in here!

I mentioned this in the Star Chat forum, but I want to spread it around a little more. A&E is having a two hour special on Atlantis Sunday night. They are running it four times in a row, starting at 8PM. I normally wouldn't want a screaming, flashing, loud commericals TV to ruin our lovely peace here, but maybe, just for Sunday, we could bring a TV in just to watch this show? I'd get rid of it first thing on Monday Of course, if anyone objects it doesn't really matter because I'm gonna do what I want anyway --- OOPS, did I say that in my out loud voice? --- what I mean is, I would never think of disturbing our peace without everyone's consent

I bought a tuner at lunchtime today and tuned up my harp. WOW!!! Even the dumb old fingering exercises sOund beautiful! With every pluck of the strings little hearts and flowers fly out. I can't wait until I can make real music!!!

*follows the music---stops at the troubles barrel and dumps her load---returns to the barrel and throws her list in---follows the smell of tea and cedar and flowers--collapses onto the pillows and buries her face in minx's coat* "hello you beautiful greeneyed pussycat--How have you been? Have you been taking good care of your Mom? You remember Marty don't you? He's my long haired handsome tabby boy-- Oh I see HE remembers you!--isn't it nice that here all kitties like each other right off? " I Love the smell of cedar too---and I brought some cherry wood because it gives off beautiful rainbow colors. I will take some tea I believe---oh and chocolate is just what I need!! I won't mind a TV a bit----anything here is wonderful. *refills the hmmingbird feeder as they buzz around her head----goes back to cushions with marty and minx---Marty is thinking that minx's tail might be fun to touch --so he gives it a gentle paw---Minx purrs 'Hhmm?' Marty remembers that he is partial to his own tail and respects Minx's space---they touch noses and curl up next to each other* Look at how pretty the hummingbirds are flitting around in the mist of the fairy dust! Just what I needed my friends. Dani
