Please could anyone tell me why whenever I reply to a thread it takes ages before my reoly show up, although it brings the topic to the top?

Hi Sealion,

If it brings your topic to the top, that means that your reply has been added to the thread. If you don't SEE it there right away, it is probably because your internet settings are set to "cache" pages -- that means that if you call up a page that you have called up before, your browser doesn't actually re-load it, it just shows you a copy of what it had already saved from the last time you looked at it. If this is happening, you can FORCE it to re-load the page (and see your new reply) by holding down your computer's Control (Ctrl) key while clicking on your browser's Refresh or Reload button. That should show you the latest right away!

Hmmm ... Eagle this is very mysterious ... you are posting a reply, and the thread comes to the top of the thread list, but when you click on it your reply is not visible ... and pressing Ctrl-Refresh doesn't make it visible ... is that correct?

If so, the next thing to try the next time this happens is to close your internet browser entirely, then immediately reopen it and come back here. The real question is finding out what makes your computer flush its cached pages and reload ... just have to keep trying to track it down.

I have that problem sometimes too, not always but often. What I do then is to close completely the site and open it again.
It works fine and every new post appears.

Yes, Greg! That's exactly the problem. And it IS mysterious, because, I never had this problem before and even now, there are times (rare) when I can see my post immediately.

Thanks for the tip, Tish I hope it works. But, I bet it's time-consuming to close your browser and then make your way back to where you were before. *sigh*

Yes!! sometimes is exasperating!!!
I am thinking that it started since my hard disk was erased and installed again, maybe the cookies or something that recognized me was lost, since that day the Forum didn't welcome me with my name anymore!!!!

but, the ctrl is pressed in the keyboard at the same time we click our mouse on the refresh icon?

Hi, instead of ctrl+refresh, try only refresh (without the ctrl) and see what happens. I guess that shoudl work.

BUT, like I mentioned on Tish's creative visualization thread, my problem disappeared as suddenly as it appeared!
