Dear Dave,
I have a question for you, hopefully you may know a little about.

I was wondering if you or anyone you know of has done any astrological research on events that will occur in the years 2012-2013, as I feel they will be world altering years. If you have not done any research or know of anyone who has, can you give me an idea of where to look to find the planetary positions and such. I am still a beginner astrologer you see, still learning.

Briefly, yes I am aware of those years - and it has been hectic on the forum today, so I will get back to you later - for one, there will be a transit of Venus across the Sun in 2012, and I believe that is the beginning of the Mayan calendar round - the date that has been published is for December of that year, but I a long time ago did some work on this, and found that the June date probably coincides with it. Now, I wrote something on this eons ago, and hopefully I can find the paper and post it...

I found the article, but it needs to be cleaned up quite a bit, as the last time I looked at it was 6 years ago, and it was in my word processor's format from 4 versions ago!

The second transit of Venus in this century across the Sun is on June 6, 2012. There are some outer planet ingresses into new signs that year, but that per se is not unusual.

The other dates for the beginning of the Mayan calendar are December 24, 2011 and December 21, 2012.

I checked the site out briefly, and it looks like a good introduction to the Mayan calendar.

It will probably be mid week before I can get the book and scan the chart from it. And, I wrote the article so long ago, I am going to have to figure it out again, as well as redoing some of the charts, as the program I use is far more accurate than that I had way back then.

At last I had a chance to work on it. The file is in PDF form simply because that way I could preserve the formatting of the document which would have been lost if I just pasted it in. Now, When I did the original one with the charts in it, it wound up being a 4 meg file, so I am putting them in separate frames after this one. The Adobe Acrobat reader if you don't have it is easy to get (and it is free).

Excellent article and accurate charts but where is the one for Jose's? Did I miss something? Sure hope not since that is the date I have been intuitively inclined to go with all along. Humbly, I would like to suggest that a lot more than Venus is happening on that date. I do feel, however, that the June date will be when realization sinks in...

Thankyou so much for all the work you did digging up your article. Unfortunately, after I downloaded the file and found it in my documents, I didn't know which program to choose and the one I choose from the list said it didn't support it, and I can't figure out how to choose a new program.
Anyhow, to make a long story short, I am a bit computer illiterate here. Is there any other way to read the story?

I finally found the article, thankyou so much for the download.
I just have one question, in the article, one of the paragraphs mentions the 'end' of the cycle to be Nov 10, 2013, which cycle end is this that you speak of, I am still new to mayan calenders, terms and the intense astrology. Is there a chart for this date, do you feel this is significant?
Beyond the mayan theories, internally I do feel that 2012 will be a highly significant year, but I feel that the year 2013 with be the actual year that the earth will ascend into a new dimension. Do you, or anyone, have any thoughts on this astrologically?

The end of the Mayan calendar round is the beginning of a new one for them, and I strongly suspect because of the synchronicty of it with the orbits of especially the visible planets that it has huge astrological significance. I wrote that about 10 years ago or so, and never had the time to really look at it. The date of the end/beginning has been somewhat disputed in the academic world, and the 2013 date is one of many.

I agree with you that 2012 is a very key year and in the back of my mind, there is another reason, but I can't think of it right now! When it comes to me, I will get back to you..

Their is a theory that the Maya's made their prophecys by relating to the Solar flares.
In 1934 R, Woolf was the first occidental that suggested the existence of a ciclical pattern in Solar flares.
The Mayan's already knew about this and they conected the arise and fall of civilization to the pattern of the Solar Flares.
