Metamorphosis Lexigram

Lexigram is the name Linda Goodman gave to a decoding process she applied to words in the English language. The famed author of books of astrology and metaphysics believed there were inner meanings hidden within words and phrases, and she believed that the English language preserved those inner meanings in a way that could be decoded by moving the letters about, forming words, phrases and sentences, with intuition as a guide. Often when Lexigrams are worked in this manner they seem to arrange themselves as poetry.

According to Linda’s rules for the process, which she detailed in Linda Goodman’s Star Signs, the word or phrase that is to be decoded by Lexigram may contain no more than 13 of the 26 individual letters of the alphabet. It also should not contain all five vowels; it’s best with only two or three, but four is acceptable. If a letter is repeated in the original word, it can also repeat in the words derived from it. For instance, Metamorphosis, with two M’s, can give rise to the word “Mom” in a Lexigram.

In honor of Linda Goodman’s April 9 birthday, Metamorphosis publishes its first Lexigram and enthusiastically seeks reader participation in creating more. We would love it if you would take some time in April to meditate on the phrase “PEACE ON EARTH” and see where the word druids lead you. Send the words, phrases, sentences or verses you come up with to metamorphosis@consciousevolution.com.
